I was on staff for years before I went into the Corps..I was "supposed" to go in the 6th corps but I backed out. I actually had all the "uppers" of New Knoxville" as my sponsers( meaning the townspeople...the townspeople sponsered my Corps)..........but that's a diff story. Why the Corps? Thought it was a "step up."

Same reason I'm going back to Ohio CK.......family :). Good for you. (Course the "tan" in FL helps ;) ). My brother lives in Tampa and my friend that's been helping me with the renovation of the house is going to college in Orlando in March.

(IMO)......GOd is just. God gave freedom of will to chose. If you choose to leave your cabinets open, that's your choice. I don't think God hurts people, but I think people hurt themselves...many times, too, in the name of God. IMO............. it's a spiritual battle so you can't look at it in the physical. It's two powers that fight and people are the pawn. I don't think God hurts anyone but when they turn their back they reap the consiquences. There's only so much HE can do. I think He gave them freewill to chose in everything. Adam and Eve had a choice...and they chose. We always have a choice and choose. If it blows up in our face it's not HIS fault, it's ours. If you own a dog that becomes rabid you have the tell-tail signs. Why would you let it out the door??? Rabid dogs show signs that are very apparent. The dog would probably bite you before you ever let it out.

The topic is "GANGS"....I believe.... The topic isn't racial so don't see how it could rabbit-trail to a racial thing. There are all COLOR of gangs.....black, yellow white, red, etc. (if there is another color). Websters says: (1) : a group of persons working together (2) : a group of persons working to unlawful or antisocial ends; especially : a band of antisocial adolescents 2 : a group of persons having informal and usually close social relations Websters doesn't mention color, race, creed, etc. It's a GROUP of persons that act unlawfully together. Don't see how anyone could get off on a rabbit-trail if they stuck to the posted topic of GANGS. Of course no one wants their area harmed, defaced, etc. That is totally understandable. Who wouldn't like to go to bed and know they didn't need to lock their doors? A GANG isn't a COLOR. Every ethnic group in the world has some gang-related activity despite the color of their skin. So....wasn't the topic GANGS? Not the color of the skin????

I started to read this thread...and got more and more bogged down with it so didn't finish it. So I may be wrong in "my opinion" here. Just wondered if anyone just walks individually with God anymore...or if it has to be with CFS or another offshoot. This person said this, this person said that, etc., etc. What ever happened to "me and God"? I've always valued my "one-on-one" with God, not what an organization told me. Is that now arcaic (sp) ? John's letter seems so wrapped up in "this person and that person and this situation and that situation...." where's the simplicity of the walk with God.....isn't that a primary....or am I just plain stupid?
