T&O, that could be a catchy tune...

I have often wondered if his sudden loss of "will to live" was his response to certain individuals who threatened to reveal his history and habits. If so, it would seem that he didn't get away with it forever because he must have known what the legal consequences would be.

Good Things We Might Remember VPW Did for the Way Ministry

Jeaniam, just out of curiosity, if it was your daughter who had had sex with vp and you found out about it, would you care about that? -
Belle, your sources of information constantly amaze me. Is there anything you don't know about?????? (meant in the nicest possible way, of course :B) So, Bil Jac, does it have to be ordered off the web or do you have a local source? Thanks Dot and Belle for all of your helpful comments, btw. Also, I've often wondered how much more it would cost to feed dogs with real chicken and rice. If anyone has done the math, it would be fun to compare how much more it really would be.

Didn't doc vic meet Howard Allen at an AA meeting? Anyway, he took Leonard's material and Alcoholics Anonymous's insight into human nature, imo, wove them together, and raised the money and filmed a class. We, the believers, were the God-fearing people who ran the classes and got the people to come and hear the truths that he presented from those and probably other sources. That he was the one presenting the material did not negate the truth in some of the material that helped some get born again and others SIT for the first time. Personally, I was saved and had spoken in tongues before ever hearing of him so to say 100,000 got born again is ludicrious. Most people I took PFAL with grew up going to church and were already saved. But, you're not the first to come here with that opinion, initially. Welcome to greasespot cafe, Lone Wolf.

Dot, hi. Just fyi, not advising or anything, but Sarah Ban Breathnach has written a whole book, practically, on this very topic. It's called Something More, Excavating Your Authentic Self and is a superb read, esp. for over 40s women. It's, imo, mind expanding as well as healing. I found it soothing and accepting, also. You might want to check it out starting with "A Tale of Two Lives" on p.38. :) -
Happy BD, HCW! Hope it is everything you could have wished.

Bumpy, hi, you still haven't told us why you thought the video was funny as Garth requested. If you did, maybe we could dialogue. Also, what difference could it possibly make if Modcat was extwi corps or not?????

Ms. Shroyer on Depression

With all due respect, I do feel it's only right to say on this thread that Mrs. Shroyer is probably a very nice person who does truly desire to help people--just as all of us here are or were at one time. LOL! She was simply doing the ex-twi-offshoot-standard teaching on this subject in parts and probably added some of her own insight in other parts. This does not in anyway make her a bad person or a user or any of that. I have no doubt the CFF people want to help ex-twi people get over twi. My opinion is it's not always bad to gradually wean yourself off harmful substances, even teachings that you really believed in at one time. However, most of you knew there would be a "however," I don't believe this particular teaching is helpful to most people who suffer from depression because it doesn't give the whole or relevant picture. We've pretty much proven, at least on this board, that no one here, anyway, can list even one person who had an evil spirit cast out and is now better from depression. The closest we came was someone said he knew parents whose child got better at first but then had to keep "casting 'em out" which clearly says there was no real healing there. So, even though I think these offshoot groups could have good intentions, some of them (others just wanted to continue their standard of living and keep doing the same thing that served them well, imo) by continuing the "this disease could be a d.s. teaching", ( I mean, is there really anyone who was ever in twi who doesn't know that every bad thing in the world or your life might be a d.s. per twi, for heaven's sake), I really think people would be better served by teaching, instead, on not being ashamed to go to a qualified MD to get well. That's what's needed here in this and any other twi community, imo. So, now that I've gotten that off my chest, back to our regularly scheduled program... -
Herbiejuan, you are such a sweetheart!!!

Thanks MD for the reply. I truly admire you for accepting your life's calling in this area. There aren't many of us who could do it. :) -

MD, I found your entire post fascinating and saved it in a Word document. But, probably the most fascinating statement, imo, was rarely seeing depression in inmates without parole. Can you explain why this is or offer some theories of your own? I would think if anyone had reason to be depressed--do most of them have no remorse? Is it because they act out their anger? I'm just guessing, here. Wow. I'm floored. -

Linda, I understand your compassion, but disagree that Shellon was calling the people the abbreviations. I've reread her post and it looks like she is abbreviating the disease, not the people, imo. -

Bumpy, sorry to hear about your bad experience with the way corps. Some of us were more ate up than others (interpretation: some drank the kool aid more than others and longer, lol). But, unfortunately, you misjudged and possibly misunderstood TheHighway. She wasn't even in the corps. You or anyone would be fortunate to get to know her and become a friend. Yes, that Allah sheet is a bit unnerving, imo, especially over the loud speakers. Good question about why they'd want to worship him and they're so poor. Exactly what do they get out of it I'm wondering, too???? And they have to fast all day until sundown during their holidays. Doesn't sound like much fun. -

Woops! Had an unpure thought so "they" must be back! Not! I'm sorry, but if God had wanted us perfect he would have made us perfect and then we would have a perfect thought life. To live in fear of getting posessed or reposessed because of an unpure thought is just ludicrous! God made us imperfect because that is the way He wanted us. And, imo, because we are impure and imperfect beings we look to Him to help us. He can. We can't. Let Him. If it takes a perfect thought life to keep a devil out, then I don't think it's going to be possible to do it. And, a loving God is not going to ask us to do something He knows we can't do. That is why I don't believe depression is a ds. If we could just think something else and it would go away, then it isn't depression. That's something else entirely--dwelling on negatives, darkness, whatever you want to call it. Depression is not something you choose to do. It is an illness and can be treated. Sadly, Christians are the most untreated people in this field because of this crazy teaching from a lot of pupits (I have read this and been taught this in classes by more than one MD). -

Hey Blarney. That's my whole point. It wasn't a genuine healing, then, if it keeps coming back--it was just in remission for a while.
