Happy Birthday, Dot!!!

Those both sound good, Groucho and Cool! Thanks for turning us on to them.

Gosh, I know Free. Sally Field makes you believe, doesn't she? Just saw her in Not Without My Daughter again a couple of nights ago and it seemed so real I had nightmares about how the Iranian Islamist Religious Fanatics treat women for 2 nights. Googled the real person and her website said she walked across a snow covered mountain to get to safety. At the end, her guides had to drag her across the border. What determination!

Thanks, Siouxzahn :) I'd love to hear a twi one, too!

Sorry to hear about your brother, likeaneagle. Blessings. Take care.

Pre-WC, I enjoyed the blueberry pancakes, link sausages, rice pudding, brats, and seeing old friends and hanging out with them. -

Thanks, Coolchef. That's quite a compliment coming from you!!!! -
Lewis Grizzard!!!! I love his stuff, especially the line that goes something like, "If you don't like Atlanta, Delta's ready" aimed at Yankees, of course. I'll have to check out Jerry Clower and the Queen book. Thanks for bringing them up. Bust It, you are soooooo welcome. I hope to see you a lot around here. I'm a chocoholic, too. Tom, is Dixie Chick your dog???? Freeatlast, I'm usually a stickler when it comes to wanting the book to follow the movie, but in this case I just loved what Sally Field did with Forrest's mom's character. She was so much warmer and more real than the one in the book, imo. So, I like them both, the book and the movie in their own way.

Happy birthday, sweetie. You certainly have been an inspiration to me. (((Hugs)))

Tried this one for a Super Bowl snack and it was great: Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes 1 Spice Cake mix 1 12 oz. can diet coke, minus 2 T 1 15 oz. can Pumpkin Mix all together with an electric mixer. Drop by spoonfuls into paper cupcake holders or spray cupcake pan with Pam. Bake 350 for 20 minutes. Cool completely before eating. They will be very moist and chewy. Makes 24. You can also make brownie cupcakes with Betty Crockers low fat brownie mix and a diet coke.

Hey, Free, I agree about Forest Gump! I read the book too and it had some really funny parts that they left out of the movie. Remember when he went up in a spaceship with a woman astronaut and they crashed in the jungle with some cannibals? Yes, it was a hoot. thanks for bringing that up.

We love British humor. That book sounds great Abi and Sushi. Yours sounds funny, too, Bust It. Oh, and nice to meet you, Bust It! (sorry, I don't know how to do one of those avatar things really fast or I'd offer you a cuppa). I think you will really like it, Tom. It has great illustrations, too, if you care

This was a good book. Here's a link describing it: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/158...usicso0b4605-20 It really is a funny book. I hope this doesn't get kicked off of the forum because it might look vulgar but it isn't. It's just funny and I hope you try it. I laughed my arse off when I first read it. I own this book. It was a gift. Really. I love it. Does anyone know of anymore funny laugh your arse off books that would fit in this category?

Gosh these are all so good. Ex, I loved about your hubs washing the doggie bowl with your dish sponge for 9 years. Ohmygosh. I would have died. One of my quirks is it irks me to no end when people talk during movies while the characters are talking and it's playing on TV 'cause can't run the tape back. DVD too because sometimes the stupid DVD player will go back and sometimes it won't.

Excellent advice, Highway. One of the reasons I stuck to twi so strongly for so long was that my mom and aunt were both trying so hard to get me out and as a 21 year old adult, I resented their attempt to manipulate me. It is easier for me to listen when concern is voiced in a loving, non controlling way from family and friends. My aunt passed away this week and I never got to tell her she was right about twi. Hopefully, your daughter will learn some Bible and move on to a healthier group, Wendy. You and your daughter are in my prayers.

Chas and Belle, I tried your advice and doctored my coffee with cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. It was great! Who said to try allspice? That's next

I liked Ken's class soooo much at Emporia. He was never a heavy reavy jerk, imo, just a great teacher who loved the Bible. He isn't an offshoot ldr is he? You know Bumpy, I'll have to say "guilty as charged" because I attended an offshoot once. You are exactly right and I have found new sources of cheese that I like much better, lol!!! Can we say ENABLING?????????
-
I agree. Did Bumpy say he grew up in Scotland? He's clearly not American.
-
agreed. so, technically everyone could be my friend on this forum...that's why I haven't utilized it much, lol.

Lisa, I'm so sorry for your loss. I only knew him here, also, but enjoyed reading everything he wrote. God bless you and your family.
