Does this sound anything like Loy Boy wannabees?
-
Did you want it to be a fun thread?
-
MJ412 I also included testimonials from the momentus website at the bottom of the page to be fair. :D--> Did you see those? Pat

Since Loy boy the serial adulterer has left the promised land of the non-prevailing swamp of TWI, have their current members become more or less mushoomish in their thoughts? Are TWI members starting to think or are they still in the dark basement?

JustThinking : I hadn't considered being too serious since this is a discussion forum versus a research paper with spelling and words that are carefully chosen. I like non-traditional, non-mainline and alternative religious, political or self-help practices and beliefs. The poll continues, although coolaid drinkers is still my secret favorite :D-->

No thanks. My wife and I wish to stay married. Most of the marriages of grads in our area broke up or had intense problems after being goaded into taking Momentus.I have checked out the psychology of what happens, and here is a link to those who took it and need psychiatric help from some people who are very familiar with its victims: http://www.wellspringretreat.org Here's a link to my info about this group including a transcript of Hunter Tylo's interview about Momentus on the 700 club: http://www.excultworld.com/momentus/momentus.htm

Dear mj412, I never have thought that these men and women who promoted Momentus or any other ideas of similar ilk were not truly sincere in what they were doing. I respect and love JAL and would not have supported CES and put John up at my home otherwise. However, after learning about problems caused by the Momentus "training", CES still continued to embrace its flawed and dangerous results and damage to people. I find that once a person is told about a problem, their reaction to either correct the mistake or to cover it up with rationalizations is very telling about where someone's true colors are. The great "benefit" to the people in my area who took Momentus is that they separated themselves into momentus or non momentus grads and separated from our fellowship. Unless you would cave in to the constant pressure and take Momentus, you were effectively marked and avoided. This behavior is typical of cultic group control and all too much like TWI. The fruits of the Momentus "training" for what I saw was putrid, rotten to the core, and to be avoided. Anything that is a quick fix mentality is usually a load of crap.

Just thinking Perhaps, but whatever word that is used will ruffle someone's fur. What's your suggestion for a better word? Perhaps a poll.... :)-->1) f'd up beliefs 2) strange 3) non TWI 4) non-traditional 5) out there 6) sick puppies 7) manson like 8) coolaid drinker beliefs bowtie: I haven't received it.

When you see the finished research, you will see why I made the statement I did. And, I have that ample evidence.

Hunter Tylo's interview on the 700 club with Dr.Paul Martin as the expert in the psychology field was quite illuminating about Momentus. Also, their approach to critics with threats of litigation gets my attention as a group to have concern about. Oh, and the multi page disclaimer that you have to sign that you will not hold the group responsible should you need psychiatric help after the "training", or if you should die during the "training" that your heirs won't sue them should be a loud wakup call. Oh, did I mention the Momentus training room I rented once for John Lynn's visit in New Hampshire had a very interesting feature. It had a deadbolt that required an key to unlock from the inside....Why is that???

I have a strong disagreement with anyone who states a group is a cult based on their beliefs. This methodology is subject to wide interpretation and is not accurate. I am finishing a research paper and writing a book on this subject based on extensive interviews with professionals in the mental health field and law enforcement. My opinion is that the standard model of either a group being a cult or not is too restrictive and does not truly reflect whether a group is a serious threat of not to its members and society. In my opinion, rating a group by its behavior towards its members and society is the only was to get an accurate picture. Criteria such as: 1) Does the group have wierd beliefs but doesn't bother other people? If so they are benine (level 1) and should not be of concern. 2) At the extreme (level 6) the group's religious beliefs are enforced against its members and society as a whole with exterme violence up to and including mass murder. For example, TWI falls within level 4-5 by the criteria I have developed as a Destructive Cult or a Millitant Destructive Cult. It all boils down to how far will the group's leaders go in the enforcement of its beliefs or policies against its members, but more importantly, against outsiders. How much in the way of criminal acts will the group employ to get its way. A link to the work in progress is below. I hope to finish this project in the next month or so. http://www.excultworld.com/cult_chart.htm

Here's some of the information I put together about Momentus. They threatened the magazine with libel until I told them I was unfazed by their threats, and a judge would hardly think the information was biased when there was provided testimonials from their website in the information the magazine has on the group. http://www.excultworld.com/momentus/momentus.htm

I tried legal aid and the Vermont bar as well as all the intellectual property attorneys in the area. The case is being tried here in Burlington, Vermont. I have a few attorney friends from other states too far away to be in court that have given me some feed back. My last pleading was adequate. The actual facts in the case are heavily in my favor. My friends do not practice intellectual property law and have stated that they can be of little help in this specialty area of law. In Federal court the judges are more concerned about substance than legal formalities, and are bound by statute to be that way with pro se cases. Even if I were to lose, TWI would get nothing anyway as I have very little for them to take. TWI is just throwing their weight around and thought I would just fold. Not this time....

Are you offering to pay for one? Otherwise I do not have the financial means to afford one as I have stated several times before.

Pirate: Actually, The Way College of Emporia is still an active corporation in good standing. Gotta wonder....

If I am preparing a legal document, I use the spell check because a legal document is important. Forum postings are not. Get some perspective :)-->

Dear Wonder1, In answer to your question about lawsuits the status is as follows from what I know reading court documents: 1)The Peeler vs. TWI lawsuit is grinding towards depositions of TWI leaders and trial sometime beginning of next year 2) The TWIM vs. TWI case has an evidentiary hearing scheduled August 15th I believe 3) The oppositions to TWI's new trademarks are on hold pending outcome of the case above 4) TWI vs. Roberge (me) has had a motion by me to amend my counterclaim to add criminal allegations under the racketeering act (RICO) and violations under the Sherman Anti trust act. I expect TWI to try to block the motion which will give me a chance to practice more on my legal writing skills.

You assume incorrectly that I haven't done thorough research already.

The information I provided about this group on ex-cultworld is mostly by people who not only took momentus, but some that were instructors.Same old rationalization. If you haven't taken momentus how can you know yada yada at nauseum. You don't need to put your hand in the fire to see if it will burn you if someone else just did and they were burned. This crap about you have to have personally experienced momentus to judge it all full of it....
