9 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being

released to

telemarketing companies and you will start to receive

sales calls.

.....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your

cell phone:

888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take

a minutes of your time.

It blocks your number for five (5) years.

You must call from the cell phone number you want to

have blocked.

You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.

Or, register at donotcall.gov

I went to cman's link and found this:

Despite Circulating E-mails it is not necessary to register cell phones...

# Contrary to the e-mail, cell phone numbers are NOT being released to telemarketers, and you will NOT soon be getting telemarketing calls on your cell phone.

# There is NO deadline by which you must register your cell phone number on the Registry.

# Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.

You STILL CAN register your cell phone on the "do not call" list.

Then, if you get telemarketing calls, you can file a complaint to get the caller fined.

However, the "circulating email", on the surface sounded like a hoax.

Another recent hoax has to do with freezing bottled water in the plastic bottle. I had someone at the gym tell me she had gotten an email and therefore now only drinks room temp bottled water. It sounded weird to me and I checked it out. It's documented in several places, including snopes.com (which investigates potential internet hoaxes). The email says the plastic bottle gives off "dioxins" when frozen. This is insane. Scientists have indicated there are NO dioxins IN plastic bottles and therefore cannot be "given off."

Please clarify.

Are you saying that there IS a problem with freezing bottled water in plastic bottles or that there is NOT a problem with doing so?

WQA(The Water Quality Association ) is a watch dog, of sorts, for the water treatment industry.

They( the WQA) have a certification program for those who work in the industry.

CWS stands for Certified Water Specialist.

In order to obtain certification, one must undergo a rather extensive series of instruction.(and testing)

CWS1 is the "foundational class". It is the most difficult certification to achieve ( in most people's opinion) because it is wide in scope. After level 1, all other certificates are peripheral , a bit like *Witnessing and UnderShepharding* or* Keys To Research* were peripheral to PFAL.

We have technicians working for us who are level 6. This is the highest level currently attainable.

On days like today, when the temperatures are hovering at the 100 degree mark, they all freeze bottled water and take it with them for consumption as the day progesses. Though it's no guarantee for absolute truth, one would certainly think these technicians would have an inside track on whether or not this practice is unhealthy.

WQA has a very good website and an online library of sorts that might address this question.

Or you can use that little "green plus sign" tab in the reply toolbar at the top...

You paste the URL then it asks you for a name for the link.

It's neato keeno - Try it! ;)

Thanks... that's certainly more than I asked for, but I appreciate the additional info also. Indeed, where I live, we get 100+ degree weather as much as 6 months out of the year. I freeze a 1.5 litre bottle of water to take with me everytime I go to my local community college to work out... and whenever I exercise outside (which would be riding a recumbent bicycle in temps lower than 90, which is currently my personal heat limit).

and as Dave Miller also provided the link, I will explain one way to do so. simply copy the entire URL from the top of the browser page and paste it into your post. The difference is that it will include the http:// and look like this http://www.wqa.org

There is also a button on top of the posting box, the second one to the right of the smilie and directly underneath the font title being used in your post.

And I didn't see doojable's suggestion until after I made this post.

:anim-smile: Macs are different creatures... :anim-smile:

Suppose we just call it "Pineapple Pizta"? Kind of like using a "K" instead of a "C" in certain words.

I would say that in probably 99% of cases where you get an email that has been forwarded to you, it is a lie. If it were true, you would hear about it some other way or experience it yourself. For example, if telemarketers were going to get the ability to robocall cellphones, it would be big news and the media loves to report on stuff like that.
