No one has what we have / no other place to go

I haven't read this whole thread but I will agree that no one had what I had.

Where else can you go where you will work your tail off for years (WOW-twig coordinator etc) and not only not get paid but be required to pay them (ABS)to do it?

I'd even get yelled at from time to time because I wasn't paying them enough or 'volunteering' hard enough for them.

No one else outside of the hallowed walls of Zion does stuff like that or even dares--Outside they have odd, probably devil inspired stuff like a "conscience" and some other thing called"right and wrong",and a "sense of fair play" that keeps them from doing that

Yes indeed, if you really want someone to control your every thought and action, manipulate and use you without you hardly being aware of it there aren't really all that many other places to go. TWI is really top of the line that way.

This outside world where people actually pay you fairly for what you do, and are nice to you for no particular reason with no strings attached , and occasionally even have high degrees of honor or integrity may not have any appeal to those who so love to be dictated to and controlled and is not for them-- but I've gotten used to it, I even like it.. :P

Well said!

I think the *greatness* of twi doctrine lies in the permitting, sanctification and justification of just about any perversion one chooses to indulge in without consequence.

It`s all good, this is the grace administration, anything as long as you can handle it....great stuff for anyone who doesn`t wish to have to make the tough choices in moral conduct.

I have come to the conclusion that those great teachings and understandings can`t be worth too darned much if the end result is the real monsters that were bred and flourished in twi, the doctrine seems to facilitate a wide range of abuses.

Remember when vp taught about counterfet? I think that he needed to create a distrust a lack of appreciation for churches, that what he taught was somehow special so that people would not find that what he was teaching was bogus, other wise once becoming familiar with the genuine love of God and people with no real agenda, that we might see right through his little charade.

He, and now they HAVE to persuade folks that their research is valuable, only available there, or people wouldn`t put up with the enslavement and abuse.

All you have to do is look at the damage wrought to know how valuable, spiritual, accurate or important their doctrine really is.

Hey Rascal....long time! :) So good to read you.

Well said sister.

Faithful to follow Rozilla's orders.

A lot of excellent postings here. I can tell you from my life experience is that "The truth had no friends"! Thats what those nitwits at the TWI and the 2 waybrained idiots that I once knew don't understand.

Thanks Geisha, I talked with the minister last night that has pastored the church that the kids and I have attended since leaving twi.

She is retiring, in June, her last act? To propose that the churches college scholorship be awarded to my kiddo this year. Know what? We aren`t even members! This is the same lady that broke the barriers and obsticals down that were preventing daughters entry in to college last year.

Same lady that when she found out I was sick a couple of years back and hadn`t the money to go to the specialist, too ill to be able to do anything for myself, she got together the money, picked me up drove all the way to vanderbilt and stayed with me. She made sure that I had any medications I needed

All of the doctrine and scriptural mania that plagued twi wouldn`t have meant squat in either situation, as a matter of fact we would have been roundly condemned for our lack of believing or for leaving spiritual doors open...

The thing is, that the longer I am away from the practices of twi and their idea of what is spiritual or Godly, the more offensive their claims of being *the best* out there become to me.

Now, having seen and interacted with folks that are genuinely filled with the spirit of God, who manifest his love, I can certainly see why wierwille and twi would work so hard to prejudice us to the point where we would avoid contact.

The sad thing is, even after leaving, it seems like a bias that lingers and prevents us from enjoying the interaction and benefit of fellowshipping with some really great folks.

It was the beginning of our brainwashing to indoctrinate us to believe TWI was the only place with truth, and there is nowhere else to go. I struggled with that for awhile after leaving. Church was so distasteful to me. After going to a few Geerite and CES offshoot meetings, I wanted to throw up and realized TWI doctrine wasn't needed anymore. "The ministry is the Word" is another brainwashing tactic. "I have no friends when it comes to God's Word" keeps you away from anyway who might persuade you otherwise. This is why TWI was/is/and will be a cult.

Back in 1986 or 87, our Branch coordinator told us not to read any letters coming from R*lph D*b*fsky because the letters carried devil spirits, and we should not expose ourselves to such evil. I think about this today and laugh.

I used to hate the sneering attitude that Twi'ers had for other christians.. not just people in the twigs but branch and limb leaders. and the dismissing of other chrisitans, making fun of them. As if they were nothing but dirt.

Yeah there is the love of God.

and my favorite BS was the whole idea thatit is the grace period but you are still tied to the law of tithing, oh and the law of believing by the way, lets not forget that you have to get your needs and wants parallel and then you will get what you want.

You didn't get healing? well By Golly your needs and wants are not parallel and you believing isn't big enough.

That whole I have no friends when it comes to the word that I swallowed hook line and sinker like an idiot is so far from the reality of what our human nature is which is to band together in communities and work together. How can that even be true when it goes against our very nature.

And the attitude that no giving was best unless you were giving to THe Way International.

and I left early on... I can not imagine if I had stuck around for LOY BOY and his band of unmerry men.
