Not to derail this thread, but I really don't think we need an "Arrow" thread...

Since when is the Atom just Iron Man? (I don't mind that this version of Ray Palmer is (yet another) genius billionaire instead of a brilliant college physics professor.) I hope he loses most of the tech/armor and works in shrinking.

George

(They share a wiki, they share a continuity, works for me.)

The writers are trying to do what works for them.

As much as I like the shrinking thing, they may think it's too zany,

unrealistic, and so on to use. (Star Trek:DS9 had a problem with

credibility with their shrinking episode, for example.)

I did like that the exoskeletal armor was an offshot of one iteration

of Project:OMAC, and since it was, was also an acronym.

("Advanced Technology Operating Mechanism.")

(There was another Arrow episode? Nuts, I need to get that.)

It was a direct quote of the LoT "Invasion!" episode,.at 6:20. "Darmok and Jalad at Tenagra!"   "I'll take that as 'have fun storming the castle."  "Oh. For real?  You're gonna use Princess Bride

That's what happens with Ralph Dibny in the mix.  (Of course, Gypsy's dad was a hoot, too.) George

I am a season and a half behind on Arrow

Do you want us to hold off on spoilers on Arrow,

to be vague about stuff or not talk about it?

Otherwise, I have a continuity question for George. I want to check if something I

thought was said, was said, and if it's been forgotten since then

(which would be a major thing to forget about 1 character.)

(Still haven't seen the latest episode of "Arrow", so please keep that in mind.)

All right then.

Concerning "Arrow"....

During "the Undertaking", Malcolm stopped an individual

hopped up on Mirakuru. The way he did it, to us,

seemed to all but hang a sign on Malcolm, saying

"I'm on Mirakuru also." Episodes after that seem

to say the opposite, moreso as time passed.

Did you have the same expectation? Did you come away

from that exchange confident he had Mirakuru in his

system?

The thought hadn't occurred to me, but it's not out of the question. You're right about subsequent events, though. He certainly doesn't seem to be "using."

When I have time,

I'll review that fight scene, then compare it to more recent fights.

He's been a LOT squishier since then.

I'm reminded of the time Spock yelled "Khaaaannnn!!!!"

Interesting. Assuming you're referring to tonight's Flash, is the mention of SPOCK's yelling "Khan" in the revised timeline being compared to Thawne's cry?

(That shouldn't spoil anything for WW, who, I'm sure, hasn't seen the episode yet.)

Apparently, the success of "Arrow" and "Flash" has promoted a spin-off of both shows. As yet untitled, it seems that it will be a team-up show (both heroes and villains). "Brave and Bold" seems an obvious choice.

The reason I thought of Spock should be obvious.

It was the iconic line being spouted by the wrong person.

Luke Skywalker saying "I, am your father..."

I mean, you saw it coming from a mile away and you just sat there and waited for it, groaned when it happened, and just kind of hoped we could just move on (which the writers mercifully did).

Got it. :)

Hamill hasn't aged well...

Playing the father (or mother) of a character one played in the past is not uncommon, and, of course we see it here with John Wesley Shipp. Less common is playing the SAME CHARACTER, over twenty years later. Amanda Pays reprises her role as Dr. Tina McGee. Hey, I'm a sentimental slush. I love this stuff.

Yes. Although Jane Badler reprised her 1980's "V" role as Diana in the 2011 re-vamp.

"Tina McGee" is a scientist in both "Flash" versions (along with the comic books), though in the earlier series, her character was sort of a cross between Dr. Wells (in the "help Barry figure out his power" sense, not the "kill Barry and his family" sense) and a love interest. Obviously, this older "Tina McGee" won't be a love interest for Barry, but I hope she appears in more episodes.
