I'm not impressed with Microsoft's versions of things. If you want to use their firewall and antivirus, they sure beat having none at all. However, I prefer to use other ones on the market- free ones, at that. A 7 year old laptop is slowing down? Yeah, my tip is to replace the laptop. It's at the end of its useful phase of the cycle. Buy a new laptop, and put Linux on the old one, and the smaller operating system will free up resources, thus speeding the machine up. (Windows is bloated.) That will help until the machine drops dead completely. If you use the laptop for web surfing, emails and an office suite, there's Linux versions for all of those. If you install Ubuntu as the O/S and load the Linux versions of your programs, you will probably not miss Windows after a few months, and will appreciate how much faster the machine runs, and how it has fewer crashes and things. Windows is for those of us who use idiosyncratic programs you can't get in Linux, or people who insist computer= Windows. In the meantime, I'd try to empty a big chunk of the data stored on the laptop. If you can clear about 200 GB of space, Windows tends to run a lot better. If you have less than 100 GB of empty space, Windows tends to slow to a crawl, or freeze up. Transfer your data to an external hard drive. Then you still have the data, and your laptop runs faster.

Next one. "Be reasonable. This is my case." "Your case?" "Red John's mine." "Red John doesn't belong to anyone." "He belongs to me."

Yes. As a point of trivia, I like to note that he plays characters in the MCU (Steve Rogers/Cap), in Scott Pilgrim's verse (Lucas Lee, the 2nd of 7 evil exes), and the 20th century Fox movies (Johnny Storm.) Not many actors can say that. Your turn!

I'll go out on a limb and say the giraffe. An elephant seems likely also, but if a mother elephant was protecting her calf and had to jump over a creek to chase her prey away, I bet she could jump the creek. It may not be the prettiest or athletic jump in the world, but a jump nonetheless. So I'm ruling them out.

Is The Way International a Christian Nationalist group?
Nathan_Jr replied to penworks's topic in About The Way
Doug Wilson’s movement is light in the loafers compared to its Islamic equivalent, Jihadism. But with big enough believing, one day it could be as “spiritually mature” as the Taliban, who has made it illegal for girls and women to talk in public. Voting rights? An issue for mere babes in tha werd. -

You may be correct... I did a little numerical research (AI OF COURSE) and that average of wow ambassadors to rock attendees is greater than even in 1974 when the first 1000 ambassadors were commissioned...

Is The Way International a Christian Nationalist group?
oldiesman replied to penworks's topic in About The Way
Yes I've heard of household voting as opposed to one man/woman one vote. I wanted to know what AI said about the early Catholic Church and it appears in basic agreement with paleo-confederate views. Here's the response: Did the traditional Catholic Church of the last century believe in "household voting" as opposed to allowing women to vote? While the Catholic Church never officially adopted a stance on women's suffrage, the idea of "household voting," where the male head of the household casts the vote for the entire family, was not a formal doctrine or teaching of the Catholic Church in the last century. However, Strong resistance to women's suffrage was prevalent within the Catholic community, particularly among conservative segments. Many Catholics, like others at the time, expressed concerns about the potential impact of women's voting rights on family life and traditional gender roles. Some even linked women's suffrage with socialism, which they believed opposed Christian values. Catholic authorities promoted a gender system that attributed different roles to men and women, emphasizing women's roles in maternity, education, and family care, while men were expected to handle public and economic affairs. The notion of women's subservience to their husbands was also present within Catholic teachings of the early 20th century. This perspective could have implicitly supported the idea that the male head of household should represent the family's political interests, rather than women voting independently. It's important to remember that despite these prevalent attitudes, there were dissenting voices within the Catholic Church who supported women's suffrage. Therefore, while the concept of "household voting" was not an official Catholic teaching, the prevailing views on gender roles and family structure within the Church, especially in the early 20th century, aligned with and reinforced the societal norms that resisted women's individual participation in the political sphere.
