  1. I know you'll love CA. I'm on the central coast much of the year and come to think of it ~ I think I've seen those sheep on a northern drive-about (; Californians like to take care of all creatures, as well as this precious green earth...as you'll see for yourself once you settle in. Your company sounds great! So conscious! I hope your dreams materialize here ~ Arrive safe and sound. Ginger
  2. Please do not buy the pumps!!! Stay away!!! ~ They have a men's department too, you know! The whole store practically goes on sale... Check out the wallets, slacks and belts, would ya', and leave the heels alone ~ lol
  3. Hi Abi, I guess I thought it pertained to a judgement about things... I don't 'get into' things around here as much as I should before I open my big fat mouth... Dressing for success is paramount to any professionals work-life. There are many ways to purchase 'recognized' attire, luggage, handbags, etc...and it does make a difference. Not for the fact that most of the better made items are costly, but because a company also projects a certain image. Fendi bags and portfolios are great to own, Gucci watches, belts, bags, even skirts are reassuring...and a number of other things like Donna Karen makes, for example, even sunglasses, make a statement in dressing for success. It sounds awful though, doesn't it? That there are suits (and wardrobes), accessories, even shoes (yup, shoes are obvious) that help present a work image to the public. I guess I've heard so many people complain about it in my life...over the years...that I turn a deaf ear now. I shouldn't have, but I did here too. Oh, the humanity! (;)--> You know, the best way, and the cheapest (I found anyway) to dress for a company that has a standard or targets certain accounts where image is important...is to invest in a couple great suits (with skirts and slacks)...a really good leather bag and portfolio or attatche case...name brands, which I could go on forever about but 'In Style Magazine' (a very good one on what's current) and even Oprah's advertise current brands that 'signify' what a professional doesn't want to worry about... If one invests in the basics...they do not have to worry about updating these items for awhile...so in a way, you practically save. There are discount houses too...since with designer lines you DO NOT have to update seasonally unless you are in the fashion industry anyway...like Loehman's, T.J. Maxx, Marshall's, Ross...Century 21...there are a load of places that sell overflow stock and discontinues, samples and the recent season's left overs from Saks, Neiman Marcus, Norstroms, Barney's, Lord & Taylors', etc...you can find great deals. Also...after July 4th...I forget exactly when now, but the biggest clearance sales go on at Lord & Taylors', etc...(check your papers)...where you can get 70-75% off of those fantastic handbags, shoes, suits...you name it...but it's only once a year. And the discount I'm telling you about is after their sales price...so basically, you practically are buying designer clothers at wholesale!!! After you score a great bag, gorgeous clothes for work (meaning well made Armani or Donna Karen, Anne Klein or Calvin...who cares if it looks right) ~ whatever fits your head-space and pocketbook at discount...everyone can slip over to the cosmetics dept. for some really, really, really good make-up. The great thing about make-up (quality, and there really is a BIG difference) is that you pay the same no matter what store you go into! So if you hit Barney's, Macy's, Saks, Neiman's, Henri's, Bergdorf's...to J.C. Penny, wherever you go...the name brands cost the same! So, where do you want to go to get a really good consultation? I'd rather be at Barneys or Neimans than JC Pennys for that and I'll tell you why...the competion to sell in those stores is fierce...commision-wise...so since the average sale for JC Penny's might be $50.00 for a good adviser to assist you...at the more discerning store...it's hundreds! So you get a more seasoned, informed, up-to-the-minute cream of the crop pro selling you the same stuff...for the same money...(you do not have to spend more, no way...) plus, better brands are better for your skin, have the latest technology in skin-care vs. a drug store, and you can get free samples and free-bees along with your purchases. Mothers Day sales are the best for cosmetics...that and Black Friday (retail break your back day)! Anyway, shoes have their sales time too...would you like don a pair of so&so's, wait till after every season is over...scoop up for year-round or put some away for next year. Let's see what else... Oh...I have to go back to Lord & Taylor's because they are everywhere...once you get your pumps or heels, a few bags, make-up, blouses, suits, and a dress or two...there lingerie is dirt cheap at the clearance sale too... People are afraid to walk into Saks, etc...these stores are not known for sales, right...not big ones...but there stuff is changed with every new season due to the shows right...they sell there very recent (two months old) stuff to discount houses immediately. When you get something so fashion-forward...btw...it takes the regular ordinary market at least a year or two to catch up to what designers do anyway...where they are replicated...copied...whatever...so anything you buy (so invest, invest in something wonderful) ON SALE though...because you can wear it for a few years!!! BTW, dry-cleaners ~ good ones ~ will preserve the integrity of your investment... Have a good dry-cleaner too! Let's see...have and tip a talented hair-dresser and listen to him/her...treat yourself to a couple of manicures a year...(fill in between on your own)...wax your brows...see AHAT or Wacky for a massage...or more practically, whoever is around for an occassional facial...and take vitamins...drink green tea...treat yourself like a million bucks and you will start to feel like it...plus, you'll attract money because it takes spending it to make it. ok, I'm done for now. I'm sorry I didn't se a legitimate question here before...but I've been tricked a few times in the past. Anyway, fashion...I love it! Must keep current (which gives you up to 2 years) Make-up...never leave home w/o it. (skin care is part of this) Jewelry ~ That is awesome too ~ now you can make your own at a fraction of the cost ~ check out Bead Style Magazine Girly/Woman POWERHOUSE (and everything inbetween)~ I believe in it.
  4. simian semantics aside ~ We've got all/our monkey food covered now!!! (whew!) One banana, two banana, three banana, four! Five banana, six banana, seven banana more...
  5. I'm glad spring is coming your way too! Have a wonderful Birthday. With Love, Ginger xo
  6. as aside (lol, what isn't an aside for me here ;)--> Those that wish they had ~ might be the ones who feel a need to exploit others. Those that do have what others wish to exploit in some manner ~ say very little on the subject. What else is new? Shoes, suits, hair-color...anyone can 'get that'. The question (for me) is why is it an issue for anyone else what someones personal property may be... After all, if we are happy with what we do and the material things that materialize ~ who really give a flying flick? Some people might though... I feel bad for people who care too much about what the Jonses have...when they have enough to worry about being a Smith, in their own skin, you know? If people look to others ~ and their possessions ~ and how they possess them ~ aren't they taking the focus off their own lives? btw, I love designers...lol...can you tell? Not for what they have, but for what they are able to 'make'. It adds to the economy ~ which brings jobs which are a necessity.
  7. ...to one of the sweetest, smartest, greatest Guys on the planet! I wish you many happy returns...and a glorious year ahead! With Love, Ginger xoxoxo
  8. I think I'll drown w/o monkey food!
  9. Long time-no see! I don't want to sound spoiled, but in this area I might have been... We'd get, instead of those 'ordinary' (lol) chocolate bunnies, in pink, white, and I forget what else (plural kids, who cared after you got yours)...but they were pastel bunnies in lovely colors. It was nice to have a Granny that worked downtown, I guess. The baskets would be covered in tinted cellophane too! Peeps weren't the biggie for us Guys ~ now you know ~ it was the pretty and the unusual ... No wonder I'm hard to please these days!
  10. Only if you believe in curses! Isn't that against the way law?
  11. I think some of the meanest people I ever met were 'Christians'... ...those 'certain' types who are unconscious people, hiding behind their Christianity. You know the type!
  12. (referring back to page 1, lol) Do you really believe there are only 3 ways to look at life? Our humanity is shet out of luck then, I think!
  13. ok ok catch up ok does this really mean we are direct decendents of the sea monkeys from Mars? Not talkin' 10 years after but maybe 10 billion years before... ok??? I am feeling a little swimmish ~ Frozen ice on Mars is being moved at this moment to protect future tourism...and to stabilize the economy. Vote for the local sea-monkey of your choice! One vote ~ one sea monkey Two worlds ~ UNITE (united we swim_divided we stand) We Can No Longer Be Denied (period)
  14. in left field bonk on the head ouch! feel free next: to scream %$^#@*(&@*()&^%^$$E#@!@##$$%&*():"+_)( BOO!
  15. Are you a monkey? lol Is it a coincidence that this is the year of 'the monkey' ??? in the Chinese zodiac ~ Were you born in 1944 or 12 year incriments of that year? If so.... YOU ARE A MONKEY!!! God save the monkeys! (I really mean this, God bless you and keep you swimming!)
  16. ...how you perceive there are more words that describe what an experience can behold for others then what ones previously conceived vistas may have held. Even if someone else shares your vision ~ I think it's lovely! Ginger
  17. ...maybe someone else can look at it! Sometimes, we see only what we want to see... ta-ta
  18. Wishing you so many happy returns!!! Ginger xo
  19. I hope that you can bounce back after this fray and look at it from another perspective (when you are ready). I too, recognize that l9ife is short...too short to engage in petty conflicts, as you already know. I wonder if you are more upset with Rocky due to the inferences QQ made in another thread (in the past) where he added his spin on Rocky's response to you? I don't think Rocky is laffin' his arse off over this thread, especially since criticizms are flying left and right. What I do think is this ~ More is read where less is said! It's usually what happens here...after all, it's a message board and cannot reveal the 'nature' or even the authentic 'personality' of another poster because it's just folks who leave a message to anothers' thoughts and ideas. This 'war'... 'flaming' ... whatever cyber-space limitation (and it's limited) presents, doesn't define the people participating ... even if it appears to, it cannot do anyone true justice. Zixar has been disagreeing with Rocky as much as Rocky disagrees with Zixar! Flip the coin and you'll see the same scenario. If anything, let's recognize that Rocky hasn't the intention to destroy GS. I'm sure Zixar might like it to continue as well. Clashes happen. If it's new, (which I think theirs is unlikely at this point), people may have learned to settle their differences before it gets out of hand...and if they can't...they need to ignore an offender (they perceive) once they set the record straight. Sometimes these 'old wars' are unreconcilable in as far the participants go. The wise thing to do then would SEEM to refrain from any personal contact, like in the real world. Nobody can control another adult ~ least of all ~ they are biting into the unreasonable if they expect to. Chances are ~ if people 'ignored' the flamings, the tantums, the demanding of others to do thus and so... it would die out. But we don't. Truth is, this forum has a pugnacious nature that crosses the line into personal attacks! What are you going to do ~ after all, TWI2 people are healing from C.M.'s ****ty example and to take it a step further, who really gets this upset about what another is thinking in real life when they don't even like them? It's a curse and maybe the cure for some people to flesh-out their flaws in public. I don't like it when it backfires either ...but it is revealing in how petty and narrow-minded the arguments here really are. It's human though. Perhaps, in the future, posters will realize it isn't worth it to persist in being right or getting their way when many a malice-full or hardened heart gets to 'get in a lick' for one last time. Enough is enough... in the real world, isn't it? Balance is the key. There is an inbalance here. What do we expect with such needs and egos at stake all over the place? Taking a break is the best way to clear ones' head and gain some perspective, I think. Impulsive release of anger can be detrimental at times, to the recipient, or at least hurtful to others, as we have seen here and in SO many other threads around here. Why blame Rocky for all the ills at GS? That's scape-goating to me. We are all flawed human beings and have feelings... Why is it okay to harm one and protect another? With blinders off ~ it can be seen to take place at the precious GSC. I guess it's still okay for personal attacks here. It has been ok for some to persue others ~ If life is an illusion then the GS is just a game in the maze... It doesn't mean any post defines a person, just like any poster here can define another... Too bad people don't turn 'off' the combative aspects, huh? If there wasn't some type of gratification in it, even for curiosity sake, this wouldn't have such an effect on people. Don't you think (by now) that some people might actually enjoy smearing people with all kinds of garbage? Or offend and ridicule publically, someone else? They do. It gets alot of attention here too, btw. Check out the hits. Sad but true! It's a kick, I guess. Linda, I hear you loud and clear. Ex, what can I say... by-standers beware? Laleo ~ who started a thread about Ex & Ginger once to 'air' garbage? Next week it will be someone else... unless you (we, us?) decide not to give it our full attention. Watch what you are 'hitting' around here if you don't like the fights ~ I wish this were a kinder place ~ because it has so much more potential. But can we flame one or two people because it isn't... or change what grown adults decide to do/say to each other? That's the bottom line! What choices people make to say what they choose to each other here is in part ~ the good, the bad and the ugly. If only we could respect each others' humanity here ... leave it intact ... where one is better off for showing up ... instead of what a few wish others to experience that isn't best for them, let alone others ... I guess there may be a 'competion' element that gets to some peoples heads as well. THAT is not the part of this place that could raise the bar for everyone to contribute freely, I think. Ginger

  21. Telling the truth about dysfunctional families has nothing to do with HATE. It can be liberating for an individual to ADMIT they experienced problems growing-up ~ There are very few people who haven't had some difficulties with their families at one time or another. Those that haven't are very fortunate and probably the rarest of them all. Am I different? ~ no. Honest about it? ~ yes. "Hate" is not an emotion that describes any feelings I have towards my family, or anyone elses' families (period) for that matter. TRUTH be known (and it is to those that KNOW ME) I love my family very much but I have not always gotten along with all members at all times. A hate experience (???) I can honestly say I haven't experienced that negative emotion towards any member of my family (or anyone else for that matter) ...and I feel lucky that my heart is THAT intact and malice-free. I may dislike certain experiences. I have strong feelings regarding those that can and do act upon HATRED (one of those is PITY) ..but where you are coming from in your depiction of MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES is totally off-base, and misleading, as in dishonest. If you read over your posts on the GS, you have used the word HATE often when relating to others. Since I already know that you do not 'get me' as well as you may think you do, PERHAPS you have translated feelings YOU have experienced into those you think I have. Good News ~ I don't hate (you or anyone else). This type of erronious assumption on your part regarding myself and what relates to ME on a personal level is unacceptable behavior and beyond impolite ...and it appears like nothing more than another misunderstanding you have regarding me. I find all of this very unneccessary. Please leave me AND my family out of your postings in the future. I have better things to do with my time then respond to posts regarding assumptions about my personal life...and perhaps the other posters here, as well, have much better things to read than presumptions brought about and err/aired in a public forum towards anyone. Feel free NOT to respond.
  22. Mark, As it goes, in order for one to be right, another must be wrong. The only unifying characteristic of most religions is this ~ squabbing ...we were here first ...we have the Word ...we are more spiritual ...we believe this ...we believe that. And some have heard from God more recently than the rest! Where is the unity? What is the purpose? It would be nice to have 'faith' without all the disharmony, wouldn't it? Too many people need pat answers. In our society, the only ones you can guarantee today that are hearing 'voices' from on high are schizophrenic. Yeah, that's a broad brush, but how far from the truth is that? With so many faiths and many more doctrines existing in this world...why is it important that 'I believe' what someone else does ...or doesn't ...or else, you know? Maybe we'll rumble, our churches ...midnight, at the empty parking lot. Christ's path, left alone to inspire each individuals life, is perhaps the best we could grasp and hold onto...Christ, and other great teachers of humanity. If the doctrinal wars could take more than a back seat, wouldn't this planet be a safer, less fearful place to share with mankind? Praise the lord and pass the ammunition...sad to say, is the 'following' de jour in many tongues.
  23. 'what did they do to us?' Can we really know or understand in a short time? "we are not a religion" "we are the truth and The Way" "we have the truth" "we rightly divide the Word of God" "we are not the 'mainstream'" "we can all do what Christ did" etc., etc., etc. Seems to me ~ TWI's ignorance and their agenda will have long-lasting effects on everyone... Sad too... But it must be very interesting that those who thought they knew Christianity better than everyone else in the world, including other Christians, are finding out now that they only knew what some folks in Ohio wanted then to know ~ A powerful piece like this makes some think, after all this time, that they don't have the world and Christianity on a string after all...what's next? Plenty! I'm glad if eyes are opening ~ If nothing else...that Ohio was limited, and they were, as well. Christianity ~ or no Christianity There's a wide world out here with lots of information...about EVERYTHING. For that I thank Mel Gibson. A cure for waybrain, maybe not, but a beginning...SURE! Loose the filters Friends, and you'll feel less isolated and become more informed. Ginger Tea
  24. I didn't buy that stuff hook, line and SiNkEr...which seems to be almost unforgetable stuff for those that did. I did get mislead, but it was from my own sensibilities. How's that for having spirits? lol Really, The Way was overkill, A loose cannon if you let it penetrate your thinking will usually cause havoc. We have brains to use...and are responsible to ourselves if we let anyone/thing abuse ourselves as adults. Trust yourself. There are a few smooth operators with hidden agendas around many corners we go about in this life ~ it doesn't mean anyone has to buy into it for even a short time. I hope people get over such manipulations ~ and let their own consciences be their guide, instead of people...after all, adults don't need parents anymore to tell them what to think...or believe...at least the more wholesome one is...they don't.
  25. Clever theo but... That would open doors for the moral police ~ lol...too. See, in this country...brides and grooms can marry, then divorce, remarry themselves or someone new, divorce, and also live with someone and not be married and have kids...but religiously, that's living in sin after the first marriage, right? (get the moral police!) You can marry and divorce as much as you can afford to...or keep up with...have children with multiple fathers and mothers (all not from the same originating parent union) like 'yours, mine and ours' in a marriage, and you can be common-law (also living in sin to the religious). We have various types of relationships resulting in marriage for the first time...up until the last time. Is marriage permanent anymore? My answer is no...unless a couple is wiling to honour their commitment for a lifetime. Second marriage is practicaly the norm in some places, among growing numbers of people. This is all acceptable by society as the right of individuals to choose. In this instance, monagamous heterosexual unions are doable but our society has a track record of being slow to wrap around the social norm/behavior. It wasn't too long ago women couldn't vote, afro-americans couldn't ride, and teachers were held accountable for their private lives down to a glass of wine lest their flagrant immoral behavior cost them their job and dignity. It's pretty abstract nowadays ~ this marriage thing! A couple can be married by non-clergy who purchased a license out of the back of a magazine too. People are always pushing the envelope of societal norms. What was socially acceptable several decades ago is now passe` and what was unacceptable then, is now common practice in some instances. People are having children at 40 something and some are marrying for the first time, after they have solidified their careers. What is the family goodness-wholesome marriage model the W.H. is promoting? Has it all but vacated the social system we lived in decades ago? We know people in their original marriages but chances are, we know even more people who are happier in their second...or third marriage. Who's dream are we living, promoting and legislating? It doesn't seem to me to be the current, common situation anyway. If it's families we want to preserve, are we a little late? Or will the judicial system have to provide the means of keeping families together? What if it's against the will of a participant in a marriage? Who's to say, with marriage evolving like everything else...what is the ideal, yet doable, realistic expectation to have with such a personal choice? King Henry built a new religion to get what he wanted...after all...some folks just use arsenic. I'm not..lol..promoting anything here, just commentary.
