  1. Even better, turn them loose on Washington.. they'd drive out the unsavory political element. George Bushytail wouldn't stand a chance..
  2. Law enforcement is missing it's "golden opportunity". Sure, a few kids might get mauled.. officers maimed.. but what if.. what if. They could covertly train massive armies of these little bits of fury on four legs.. and set them on a mission. Run gangs out of Orlando, Tampa, Detroit..
  3. True, but it also follows that believing and receiving are actually equivalent. That is, they are the same thing (assuming the claim is true). if a implies b, and b implies a, then the only logical conclusion is a is actually b. (or b is actually a). You'd then be able to read verses like "whatsoever you desire when ye pray, recieve that you believe them, and ye shall have them" You'd read about having receith like a grain of mustard seed.. "dost thou recieve that.." "Lord I receive, help my unreceith"
  4. Wow.. Sometimes.. people don't have a clue what they really are.. :)
  5. hmm. probably the only reason I survived into the twenty-first century.. Hey.. I have a copy of the book.. I'll share. :) Even have Kesey's Garage Sale..
  6. The greatest light in life.. I've seen from those, or the one cut most deeply..
  7. Not being cynical or harsh or anything.. but I think "the body" is going to always be bleeding.. maybe sometimes less, maybe sometimes more.. I think we are all damaged.. just the nature of things.. part of the agreement.. I haven't met a single soul that is not.. even Gandi admitted he was damaged goods.. in a way.. I have a theory.. when we're cut.. we bleed light.. :)
  8. Naw.. just probably smoking a little pot or something..
  9. I figured I was about eight years old or so, when it may have gone by.. Ma would have had me by the ear.. "get back in the house this instant.. young man.."
  10. hmm. Make sure the bus has proper dayglo colors, and "Fuurther" properly embossed on it.. if it pulled up here on Main Street.. I'd get on..
  11. "run away, run away.." A friend of mine claims that the animals will inherit the world after the oil is gone.. :)
  12. two pages later.. I would vote for this one as the most meaningful post. Isn't "da Teacher of da Verd" on the top of the system? Yet the "word" if you believe it.. puts it at the bottom.. able to move a crowd, or a few individuals. See.. the moron may claim the title "teacher".. apt to teach, or allow others to bestow this honor upon his or herself, but if the person is not counterfiet, I would say the rest of the qualifications have to go with it, not just one. Simon the sorcerer could move a crowd..
  13. I dunno.. makes sense to me. Look at his track record.. he published the little are the dead alive now book.. that didn't get a whole heck of a lot of attention.. but it was enough at the time to foster an "us vs. them" mentality. Kept inquiring minds off of his preclivities.. Then JCING. That was VERY successful in giving da "faithful" yet another iconoclastic statement to circle the wagons around.. then the advanced classes. Oh yes.. noah castrated by his son.. the u.s. being taken over by "them".. always something out there.. kept us so busy, that few slowed down enough to look what was in their midst.. loy took it even further. The "homo is da enemey, the homo is among us.." then "debt is da enemy, debt is among us.." even.. "da pet is our enemy, da pet is among us.." one ridiculous doctrine and purge after another.. Oh yes. I think if vic lived on another twenty years, without too much dementia, we'd have seen one "extraordinary" biblical discovery after another..
  14. Really.. if you substituted "the loyster" for "victor" in Groucho's little "fellowship".. I don't see any embellishment. I remember how "they" praised loy's name.. the bringer of new light.. slayer of debils.. mark and avoider of da unfaithful.. worthy of our praise and support.. and it got worse after I left.. yep.. loy.. the purger of homos.. god's vengeance on those in debt, and "weak"..
  15. Interesting that this one is the last on the list.. Maybe putting on a charismatic presentation to cover up character flaws isn't "all it's cracked up to be."..
  16. I remember the hype about it.. the people in charge were supposed to be "those iin da household, who we can trust.." Didn't the guy who ran it disappear into the night one foggy evening or something?
  17. Well, officially, I disavow all knowledge of the actions of my so called "cousins"
  18. I dunno. I didn't see a whole heck of a lot of embellishment here.. it was almost that when I left in 96.
  19. What I can't understand.. are the thought processes that conclude "well, he got one on the list right.." I don't think the lifestyle described here is exactly a multiple choice exam, where one picks one from the list as the answer..

    'Polite' fighting words

Here's some I used on someone being just a little too belligerent: "Can you see the door?" "well.. yes.." "it's in your best interests to be on the other side of it.." true story.. well.. it worked.. though the other poor rational people involved thought I was being a little too generous..
  21. sowy.. I have to do something to amuse myself.. but feel free to check back on ocassion, as the greasespot turns, and we find out where Waldo, ahem, I mean *mr* gear really is, in this great world of ours..
  22. *as "mr" gear rounds the corner, he watches helplessly as a rusty 1971 toyota pulls into the front parking spot, a mere fifteen feet ahead of him* *arrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhh!#@^&*!@"
  23. Sooooo.. I wonder where *mr* gear is this afternoon.. hmmm. could be.. possible. Perhaps he is on his forty eight trip around the parking lot at Wally Mart, "believing" for a front parking spot..
  24. There are only two contexts I can think of.. 1. The "law" "worked(?)" 2. The "law" did not. Interesting thread. Close to eighty pages of pie in the sky on the "big things" thread, how "blessed" people were.. and disclaimers.. I could hardly get people to squeak out three on my thread, asking for some practical, substantial, verifiable "results" of da class.. You get the front parking spot at Wally mart maybe fifty times in a row or so.. (and not when the store is closed, or at five in the morning ) and maybe we can talk about "the magic of believing".. So I was richly rewarded for my believing and faithfulness, and giving of 15 or more percent.. a front spot at Wally Mart, woo hooo! What about the other 379 times I had to park in the back of the lot? must've not been "believing"..
