  1. I don't know, I'm thinking the engine seized since women generally don't check that sort of thing.

    Camcorders

Thanks, Chas. One thing I'm also wondering about is editing. How do you do that? I'm thinking perhaps people will want their speeches only and not necessarily the whole meeting.

    Camcorders

Thanks, Rhino, now I'm only a little less lost. As usual, I can't afford what I want.

    Camcorders

I am looking to get a camcorder to record my Toastmaster meetings (and, it is to be hoped, when I start my speech coaching business). I understand the sound can be a little sketchy. The room the recording will be taking place is approximately 50' x 50'. I can probably set up close to the stage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I date myself too, but that's because no one else will.
  6. And who would be doing the judging of crazy, Catcup? Btw, good to see you.
  7. This is from my post in My Story........... Later on, I made the apparent mistake of talking to someone who expressed a desire to extricate themselves from the evil empire. I hadn't even set a date to talk further to this person when I got a phone call from one of the local gang leaders. It was approximately 11 o'clock at night. I had been asleep for about an hour. Therefore, I was fairly foggy for most of the phone call. The last thing this person said to me was,(and this is a paraphrase) "You better walk down the street looking behind your back".This was should I have continued talking to people who were dissatisfied with the status quo of the organization. An obvious attempt at the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. I've since learned, they tack on toward the household. Present truth abounds.

    Plagarism !?

If this has been covered before, my apologies, buuuuuuut, Even if this is the case, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
  9. Isn't this just about EVERY religious denomination believes, if not overtly, but tacitly?
  10. Besides being what I consider an oxymoron, wouldn't "unproductive evil" be the best kind to have in an organization (I mean, if you're going to have evil)?
  11. Actually, it was Jean Shepherd, the author of the book which inspired "A Christmas Story".
  12. People watching are thinking, "Yeah, and you SMELL like one too!"
  13. If he didn't say anything, maybe it was THIS guy. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:6hsMj2...ges/lexicon.gif

And, if memory serves, illegal now.
  15. It's Word'Wolf' 's sister. And yes, be afraid, be VERY afraid.
  16. I did an image search for "golden crap" or something like that. Glad you like it.
  17. Hey Dot, If there's a public library in your area, you can probably stay in touch. I won't say congratulations on your divorce, since I've been there, but it will get better.
  18. Well, it works, but I don't know what the song is.
  19. The song that comes up is High Places, by Shared Islands (roll over white outlined picture when you move your cursor toward the bottom of the video). Doesn't sound to me like the song you're trying to identify, since it's no where near a classical song.
  20. Since this seems to be a private conversation , my apologies for not getting back sooner. It's been a bit hectic around here. This is why I think we cut them off at the knees many times by not trying to communicate with them in terms that demand our standard to parenting but show respect at the same time. Agreed. Imagine if we talked to our spouses (significant others) the way we sometimes talk to our kids. Say they come home with a traffic ticket. This isn't the first time. You say, "You know, dear, this isn't the first time you've gotten a traffic ticket. How many times do we have to have this conversation? (said with appropriate disdain)". How many times as a kid did we get lectured? Did it change our behavior? Perhaps, just to avoid the lecture. But is that how we want to teach our kids? Now, imagine this scenario. Significant other comes home with the traffic ticket. You say (with appropriate, real, empathy), "Wow, dear, that really sucks. What are you going to do about that?" When I first moved to Michigan, I got popped for not having my seat belt on. In New Jersey it wasn't a reason a police officer could pull you over. A while later, I got popped again (apparently, I'm a slow learner ). Amazingly, the officer didn't lecture me either time. He just handed me the ticket. I am now rather fastidious about putting my seat belt on. :) What I'm getting at is, the anger, lectures, threats and warnings parents often employ are less than optimal for raising the odds of raising responsible kids. If we can manage to eliminate (a lofty goal, no doubt) these from our vocabulary, we will have a much better time with our kids.
  21. No, you're not the last, Tcat, Abi and I wanted to be the last ones, so she would remember it better (her juvenile Alzheimer's and all ). That frying pan is in the mail, Shell.............
