  1. Johniam, I'm sure alot of folks before twi, like in the seventies when times were a little safer, may of not had cars to take them where they needed to go. AND that was THEIR choice to hitch rides all over the country. But when it comes to us who had cars and were perfectly capeable of driving to our destinations, why in the h*ll would they MAKE us do such a fool hardily act and risk our own lives? To me hitchhiking are for those who don't have transportation and the money to get it. (still not a smart way to travel. IMO) How many of you that went LEAD and the Corps. had vehicles?
  2. That's terrible Catcup :( I'm so sorry that happened to you. TWI's policies were really screwed up when it came to needed any medical attention The short time I was at HQ I remember getting sick with a real bad throat infection. I was so sick. The uvala ( the thing that hangs in the back of the throat) was as big as a large marble. They didn't let me go to the Dr. until they saw that. I was sick for nearly a week with high fevers before being seen by a physician. The Dr. in town couldn't believe how bad my throat looked. He gave me a high dose of antibiotics via shot in my butt, then 2 weeks of meds.
  3. Hey Wordwolf........ My kids Love that song
  4. And don't forget for those of us who went out Light Bearers. We HAD to hitch rides to our desitinations. I thought that was ludacris. Believe God for your rides. Our corps had to go out twice too. We met some real wierdos :o
  5. Looking at the photos reminded me of myself at that age. I was about 20 or 21 when I took the Advanced Class. I felt like I was on top of the world Geez.... I could've been in college instead of wasting my time listening to their BS :(

    Two Years

Great picture Belle :) It's a good thing your hear at GS, and that you've come so far in the last 2 years. I'm sure you too have helped many others here through some rough times with your insiteful posts and warm personality. I myself think your just the greatest :D Here's to you or if you'd rather have a cup of coffee :)
  7. ((((ILB)))) What an incredible story of your life . Thank you for shareing You will be at the top of my list of prayers for continued healing and wellness.
  8. Tom, :) I had talked about this in one of my post in the doctrinal section . In the 80's they were teaching that the "Abundant Shareing" was above and over the tithe. If you were not living the abundant life, or if you or a family member were to become ill or anything in a serious negative matter was happening with you , then it must be because you were NOT giving "Above and Over the Tithe" In other words, God was protecting you up to 10%. I have no records of that in writing. But, we were constantly being told that by the leadership in our area at that time.
  9. Hey Belle, I'm with you and Raf. I better be watching the news more closely too :(
  10. LOL... I think my post needs to be somewhere else. Sorry, my bad I think I'll just go and have another cup of java. But before I go, I'll just add to this subject. All those years lost was quite upseting and all the opportunities missed because of being in twi I guess what's done is done. At least we've picked up ourselves, went back to school, started new careers, started new marriages, kids, new friends. What more can we ask for? Anyone care for some coffee? :D
  11. ILB :) When I left 15 years ago it was VERY hard and lonely :( That pain and lonelyness lurked around for a long time. I had really good friends in twi, just as most of us did. But, as time goes on those feelings started to faid away. Then you begin to notice that emptiness gets filled again with new and better things. I now strive for the good within myself and others. That sence of loss for me was not having that relationship with God anymore. So, I corrected that and life became sweet In my line of work I see how short life can be. Just like in that country song "Live Like you were Dying" Don't look back because there's so much ahead.
  12. Oh man I forgot about 21 jump street. He was HOT then!!! And yes, we are ageing ourselves
  13. Oh yah, the Watercooler. You all have such good points on this. People in general are not content with what they have, who they're with, or their jobs and security. I see a lot of dissatifaction out there. Generally, people are looking for a better way. That's why I think it was so easy to manipulate them into believing what we had to offer as far as twi. Times really haven't changed all that much as far as contentment goes. There's a lot of unhappy souls out there :( IMO

    21st Corps

Well, I'm sure she was hard because she was responcible for teaching the Corps back then. But she also had a very layed back approach to whatever she wanted to get across to us. I remember one morning I got REALLY SICK. But I was still expected to run and show up to breakfast, which I did. Then I went to her place and collapsed on her couch. Pale and in much pain. Santina took such good care of me as if I was her own. She had a very caring heart Sometimes we forget about the good in others. I didn't mean to make her out to be mean or anything :( :)
  15. Our family enjoyed the movie Yes, it was long, but hey.. I"ve been a fan of Depp. since Edward Scissor Hand and a new fan of Bloom since Lord of the Rings. I have NO problem watching them for nearly 3 hours
  16. I just downloaded it. Thanks dancing :)
  17. Hey Radar, I didn't know they put someone like that in charge of the snack shop. I feel bad for the crew. They were a great bunch! :) act2 and I Love Bagpipes, Thank you for your kind replies
  18. CW, I can totally relate to what you said in your first post. I was one that was "unsatisfied with my life" I, like your daughter, said that there had to be more to life than what I was seeing and living at the age of 19. That was the beginning of the searching of the heart and low and behold I was witnessed to and easily became controlled by the tactics of twi. Being led by the carrot was an accurate statement IMO. Once the carrot was gone I felt unsatisfied again and lost. It's a sad thing what twi did to so many of us. Thank God many have overcome and are living (hopefully) satisfied lives now. Good Post CW
  19. Hi Penquin, Do we know each other? It wasn't the Advanced Class. It was something that was going on for the weekend and anyone who wanted to come to HQ could attend. Like the towns people etc... I was in charge of the snack shop and was preparing for at least 2,000 people to attend. They couldn't take a chance with me blowing it for them I guess. They also didn't want me around the Corps just in case I leaked out what I knew about Craig.
  20. That makes sence to me too T-Bone. Although, I'm still pondering the whole aspect on SIT. I pretty much stopped doing it since 1992. :)
