  1. Don't forget to chuckle at all the jokes which were not funny at all after the 100th time
  2. Do any of you remember Lisa H*&^*%$dez? ( Sorry, not good at that yet) :( She was my Housekeeping Coord at HQ and was kicked out the same time I was. She and her husband were sent to Cali. Has anyone heard from her? :)
  3. :) JM and JH were the ones that HELPED me get out of the WC. Thank you JM and JH
  4. I'm glad it was a help to you T-bone :) I just liked hearing something more of the positive side of things. I was in a bible study of 2 Corithians a few months ago, and I'm still chewing on it. It definitly shed some new light on many things that Paul taught the Corithians and his heart. Things twi never touched on. Why? Because they had their own agenda to attend to. Like trying to make us believe we were the only ones that new the truth and smothered us in the same teachings over and over.. and over and skipped over what we really needed to know about the walk of Christ. Roy, Thanks for your imput. Yes, the teachings are with great heart. No yelling and spitting :) Just a lot of love and compassion. I too have told them where I came from. They don't try to disprove me. He just teaches the word and it's up to me what to believe. So far it's been going well. I personally need to see the other aspect. The aspect we were all taught was wrong. Although, I don't follow blindly either. Did that, been there..... Oldiesman, Yes, your right on that aspect you quoted me on. But, my point was that the Fear teaching didn't get in there and the blame on us if something bad happens to us or a family member how it was our Worrying/Fear/ resulting in our Believing that caused it to happen. And of course from there the Tithe would creep in the teaching or actually Abundant Sharing, and we basically need to give MORE so that we would be better protected. In the study of Corithians, Paul never mentions that. It's giving from your heart that God sees. That too was freeing to me, because I was still stuck on the 10% and above that. My husband thought I was crazy I didn't mean to get into the Tithe and the ABS thing, but that's what I remember being taught back in the 80's when something wasn't going quite our way, it had to be the amount you were giving that may be causeing unwanted circumstances in your life. <_< Hope to hear from more of you
  5. I'm not that great at starting new threads. So here goes.... I've often wondered if others here are experiencing the same thing as me. When you go to church, (of course to those of you that go) what are the topics that are being taught? How does if differ from that of the twi? How does it make you feel? Does Waybrain creep in at times? It did for me a few weeks ago and I hate when that happens The subject was: " How to win Over Worry" Right away Waybrain hit like a ton of bricks. I thought," okay...., lets see what he has to say about Worry and Fear" TWI always put those 2 together. Well, to my surprise, he never mentioned the word FEAR  Here's how it went: First of all, he asked us to write down our greatest worry  Waybrain again I thought, "no freaking way am I going to write THAT down, because it just might happen because if the adversary sees it... blah, blah, blah. The teaching was put in a totally different perspective. Worry= trying to control the uncontrolable Worry= a waste of energy of those things we cannot control Worry= futile-it can't change the past or the future. Math 6:27 Worry= destuctive. Prov 17:22 Worry= contageous. Num 13:32 The Perscription for Worry= Phil 4:9, I Pet 5:7, Worry= is assuming responsibility that God never entended us to have. Matt 6:32-34 Jesus doesn't promise that nothing bad will happen, but he'll see us through the tough spots Phil 4:6-8 Thank god and be greatful. Ps 4:8 Think about the right things. You control the filter of your mind Focus on eternal things. 2 Cor 4:8, Phil 4:7, Is 4:6, Phil 4:19, Col 3:15, Lu 12:15 Then ask yourselves these 5 things: 1) Have I prayed about it? 2) Do I really believe what I say I believe? 3) Can I survive the worst with God's help? 4) How much is going to matter in 100 year from now? 5) Am I making the most of today? Psalm 118: 24 My point is that it's so refreshing to hear a different view than twi's view on the matters in the bible. They used scare tactics and cult tactics to get us to adhere thier way of thinking. I'm still Relearning, but at least I can see though the clouds now :)
  6. :( The Girl in the Plastic Bubble :( When the bubble popped it was hard to breath at first. But with each day the air got clearer and clearer. Years later..... you look back. How did I get into that darn bubble in the first place?????
  7. Yup... The figure 8 cord wind. I worked in housekeeping the first year in residence, then 2 months at HQ on staff. They had a lot of quarks in the housekeeping stuff. Like...... I cleaned the stairs everyday at Gunnison and they weren't dirty at all!!! I was told to that look at it like as if you were taking care of the household. How we as their leaders need to clean up after them spiritually, even if they look fine to us. It's our job to see that their spiritual needs are being met and sometimes it can get pretty dirty.... Gawd... and I fell for that rubish. I was just FREE labor And when you vacuum, it has to be in straight lines on the carpet So ridiculous!!!!!
  8. :( My prayers are in.

I haven't heard from ANYONE. It's kind of wierd too. What happened to the 21st WC???? I really only new the ones we were with at Gunnison. Like Ali, Laurie and I were pretty good friends. Judy, Karen and a few others I've forgotton their names. Do you remember the name of the one who was head of housekeeping there? She was married to Dennis, they had a little girl (Mercedes) I wonder what happened to them :( I did have a good time that year. It was extremely challenging. Thank God I was young I would have never been able to do that stuff now. I remember there was an older woman there with us, she was ALWAYS taking naps. She just couldn't get out of bed. Do you remember when I hurt my back? Everyone was bringing me snow ice packs, food, music to listen to, healing tapes etc... It's so sad to develope such wonderful friendships, then one day it over and and you lose everyone :( Well, Vic I hope we can find our lost friends some day. Frances

  18. Here's a list of things that are apparent in cult movements: 1) There is a lack of authority over the leader of the group. The teachings in cult groups usually center around one person. They establish themselves as the authority because of a special "gift " they have or a special enlightenment they recieved. (See 2Cor 10:10-11;11:5) for how the false teachers were attempting to winthe believers over by degrading Paul and setting themselves up as "super apostles" 2) There is a sence of great self-pride, particularly within the leadership of the group, as well to isolate their followers because of their "superior" knowledge. (see 2Cor 11:6) 3) There is a desire for money and power. (see vs. 20) 4) There is moral impuity. (see 1Cor 5:1-2) Where it indicates a moral looseness of a member of the church living with his fathers wife. 5) There is a strong resistance on the part of the leaders to any form of accountabilty.(see 2Cor 11:15) 6) There is always some type of a "works" program involved. (see Gal 5:1 : Eph 2:8-9) 7) There is a twisting of the Scriptures to make them fit their teaching (see Rom 16:17-19)
  19. Misguided chair stringers.....
  20. I have NO problem telling people that I was in a cult now, because that is what it is!! But, many years ago I was ashamed to admit that. I soon realized that when I told people about twi and how they run their organization and the followers, many times people would say"WOW  sounds like a cult to me" Just the other day I had an interesting conversation with a patient of mine that was left for dead in our ICU. His Dr. said he was going to die, so whats the point in doing any more changes on his Respirator. Well, that made many of us very angry and we convinced his mother into getting someone else on the case. He was only 38 and came in with pneumonia. He's also a Christain along with his mother and believes heavily into prayer and studying his bible. A new Dr. took the case and of course with God's help saved this mans life :) I spent so much time in his room talking with him and his mother about Faith, and Prayer. He then told me that HE was in a cult for 3 years. He descibed to me almost exactly what twi was. I was blown away :o I then told him of my experience with the cult I was in. He too was blown away. He was involved with The Church of Christ. He's wants to write a book about it to help others who are involved with this group. I told him about GS and how this website has helped so many people see how cultish twi is. It was so nice spending time with theses people. In fact, he goes to Calvary Chapel of Ft. Lauderdale where Raf goes.

(((((Vicki))))) How are you girl???? Yes, I remember Bill telling me all about his Light Bearers and how he totally blew it by partying so much. He was in soooo much quilt over it, I though he was going to leave. I often think about him and his well being for some reason. He was a great guy Nice to see you again Frances :)
  22. We took a trip to Sanabel Island on Memorial Day weekend and crossing over I75 we were hit with those too. The front of the van was covered with them.
  23. " I totally agree with you Goey. I've had a lot of people say that to me and it makes me feel uncomfortable every time. But like you, I don't refute it. I just don't engage a lot of conversations with people like that. Sometimes to me it sounds like bragging. Not giving God the glory of what he has done for them, but letting others think that God talks to them directly or audibly. I know God can do that, but REALLY... you've got to be walking and really knowing it's Him who's telling you things. I know God puts things on my heart, like to do special things for others and later I see that and realize it was Him. Maybe not a that moment. But I will tell my husband how God did something really cool through me to bless someone. Giving Him ALL the glory. I dunno.. maybe it's a pride thing when people do that.
