  1. I think so. I think it's so much better not getting personal in the public forums. It takes work, but in the long run makes for better discussion. One may use PM if needed to communicate personal issues.
  2. I was just speaking generically about unnecessary personal details (a whole lot of stuff including a persons occupation applies here) and personal insults against a poster which is unnecessary and detracts from the discussion. I agree that accusing a poster of having a spirit of jealousy is a personal insult and should be avoided as it detracts from the issue being discussed.
  3. The meaning of "please don't make it personal" is very simple. It means that posters should be able to communicate opinions without adding personal details about or insults against another poster. If you have a personal opinion about a poster and want to say something about them that is of a personal nature, why not PM them directly? My PM is always open to anyone here.
  4. It asks posters right on the forums page "please don't make it personal".
  5. The bias or lack of bias of a poster is not the issue. I don't care. The point is one doesn't (and I believe shouldn't) have to invoke anything personal about the poster in order to engage in a debate about the issues.
  6. Larry, good point and I agree. A posters occupation or even personal bias, has nothing to do with discussion and debate of the issues. Keeping the debate about the issues and not getting personal makes for much better and fairer posting.
  7. Evidence that she puts her wealth ahead of God in her life? I haven't seen any. Just because she makes a lot of money doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't put God first and seek His kingdom first. What she does with the money, i.e., she should give to the congregents, she should give to the poor, etc. is her business on how she spends her money. If she declines to give her money to the congregants or poor, what does that mean? God knows. But it is her money, how she spends it is her business. Having said that, I'm not opposed to the legal challenges made in favor of tax payments. As much as I dislike taxes, if it is proven legally that according to U.S. law her ministry should be paying taxes, then she should abide within the U.S. law. She's paying the taxes under protest but legally challenging it, which is her right.
  8. Victor's Egg Nog. :) Makes Eight six ounce servings: Enjoy! 8 ounces Drambuie 1 quart whole milk 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 4 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish Break eggs into large bowl and whisk until frothy. Add Drambuie, vanilla, cinnamon, and allspice; whisk to combine. Slowly add milk whisking until thoroughly mixed. Pour into glasses; sprinkle on the nutmeg.
  9. The way I see it, it isn't the accumulation of wealth that matters, but how one uses it. Money is not the root of all evil; it is "the love of money" that is the root of all evil. Does Joyce Meyers put wealth ahead of God? Is wealth her God? This is what Jesus was warning against... not that one has wealth but does it keep one away from God. In Joyce Meyers case I haven't seen any evidence of same.
  10. Right on, WG! Spiritual truth stands despite the alleged "fleshly disposition and carnality" of the communicator.
  11. Golly, that sounds just like something I would say about VP... :o :D
  12. Edi I love your stuff. "if you don't like it kick me out." Advanced Class, March 1978 at Virginia Beach, VA, as I recall there was some sort of a public question and answer session and a woman got up and asked Craig a question. (Dr. Wierwille was running the class and Craig was his assistant). Craig answered the question, and Wierwille hammered him about the answer he gave. Sorry but I can't remember any more about that story other than getting the impression that it was part of a training process.

    Warning

Thanks for the clarification. It just seemed like you were blaming folks like me for your lack of faith, when it appears to be something else entirely.

    Warning

I wasn't scared Danny. In fact, one of the first things I actually thought about after reading your post about the sex crimes unit breaking down my door, were dollar signs if this event actually occurred. Let the sex crimes unit break down my door, confiscate all my personal belongings, arrest me and throw me in jail, find nothing, and inform me that they took this action based upon the picture that was painted of me by posts from this thread of yours Danny. I would hate to think that a brother in Christ or frankly anyone else would figure prominently in a lawsuit filed by me. But if some posters continue on the present discourse of personal attack and character assassination as demonstrated in this thread, and if an event like a break-in and confiscation of my personal property and false imprisonment from the government ever were to actually occur; some of the posters here may be in deep more than they may ever realize.
  16. Nicole, This statement can be tough medicine, but I believe it is good wisdom to live by.

    Warning

Thanks for your help Goey. And I have already apologized for making that statement.
  18. I'll send you a few La Shantas instead.
  19. I think it was more like an adaptation. :)
  20. Nicole, Welcome to GS Cafe. Your sentiment demonstrates once again that the vile acts of so few have not overshadowed the good deeds of so many. Please stay and share more. :)
  21. Thanks for letting me know PAW, I had no idea about that. I'm sure you will work this out and do the right thing.
  22. That may be someones rationale, but personally, I always thought that was a weak argument for the females to use, or to proclaim on behalf of the females. It simply shifts all blame to someone else, in this case VPW. Is that fair? "Because Dr. Wierwille says its ok and didn't teach me otherwise, then it is ok" Oh really? Let's be frank ... adults , know that adultery is wrong. We all learn this from our parents, from our Judeo-Christian society, from marriage, from our traditions, from our family and friends, from our own study of the bible; Consider a possible scenario on Judgment Day; Jesus: "why dear woman did you commit adultery with Dr. Wierwille" Woman: "because I was taught contrary to God's Word that this would bless the man of God" Jesus: "you mean you didn't know that adultery was wrong"? "you didn't know Victor was a married man?" Woman: "but Victor told me that it was ok and didn't teach me otherwise" Jesus: "well then that must make it all ok" *************************** Simply put, although VPW is guilty for his sins regardless (as we all are), I believe in individual moral accountability and responsibility for every adults' choices.
  23. I have great respect for the moderators. They have done an excellent job. But I still want Larry back. :)
  24. I'd like to see Larry receive his full posting privileges back. Any comments?
  25. No. But because of most of the women consenting; it facilitated his adultery. They participated in it, helped it along, encouraged it, gave it wings. Desiring to "bless the man of God". Mrs. Wierwille --- I suppose she could have blasted the whole thing wide open; don't know why she didn't other than remaining silent for the sake of the entire ministry staying afloat. I'd bet my last dollar that she believed the ministry was of God and didn't want the ministry to be blamed.
