Think kindly when you think of me And please try to understand You know, life is just a mystery And nothin' ever goes like you planned I would tell you I would never leave If I didn't have to go Think kindly when you think of me And you should never feel alone 'Cause when it's rainin' Ain't nothin' but love rainin' down And when the sun shines Ain't nothin' but love shinin' all around And when the wind blows I'll be talkin' to you Sayin' that I loved you always And I know that you loved me too "Remember Me"------Paul Delay

Hey, there, So_crates. Welcome to our little cyber greasy spoon. -
Nope.

Here's a clue. The person who wrote it is the same person who originally had a hit with it. "Over 200 artists have recorded "Hi-Heel Sneakers". These include Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Sammy Davis Jr., Janis Joplin, Jose Feliciano, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Tom Jones, John Lee Hooker, Cleo Laine, Pharoah Sanders, Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead and Ramsey Lewis. There are many videos on youtube.com with performances by The Searchers on Shindig!, Zsa Zsa Gabor, The Mummies, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Faces, Sting and many more." (I can't give a citation for that quote because the rest of it contains the answer.)

did you ever hear wierwille speaking in tongues and/or interpret ?
waysider replied to excathedra's topic in About The Way
Didn't he once say that, at an incident which occurred before he was led into tongues, he fooled those present by reciting Greek? And, so, now we have him saying he didn't know Greek. Can't be both. What I think probably happened was he may have known a few Greek or Greek-like sounding words and used that as sort of a "foundation" for his glossolalia. Either that or he made the whole incident up. There may be other possibilities but I can't think of any. Beep Beep Beep----Boop Boop Boop----Isn't that wonderful? -
High Heel Sneakers recorded by The Stones Jeff Beck Stevie Wonder Elvis Presley Jerry Lee Lewis etc., etc., etc.

From the pictures I've seen, it looks like a pretty cool place. (But, then again, so did Jonestown.) :(

"Frankly I have found more tolerance and compassion from athiests than I have from these ministries." Perhaps what you've encountered is a more receptive attitude toward objective evaluation and critical thinking.

Was it Laura Nyro? I know she wrote Stone Soul Picnic but I'm not sure on this one.

This is a bit off topic but I felt a need to clarify my position. I am not saying this woman wrote these songs. What I am saying is that she is claiming to have written them. Being a bit of a writer myself, I can understand how bits and pieces of previous works can linger in your subconscious and creep into current efforts.(example: If you listen closely to "Layla", you can hear subtle influences of "As The Years Go Passing By".) But these are not phrases or figures, these are entire songs, complete with lyrics. And, what puzzles me is why she so openly discloses that other songs on her site are covers but specifically says she wrote these two. These songs were written at a time when a copyright was only valid for 28 years, so, unless those copyrights were renewed, they would be in Public Domain. Still, even if a song is in Public Domain, you must give proper credit where it is due. In addition, once a song has fallen into Public Domain, it cannot be re-copyrighted---even by the original author. Sorry for the derail. Ownership of creative efforts is something that means a lot to me on a personal level.

She claims authorship of this one, as well. http://www.youtube.com/user/dleewhee#p/u/65/_rKjV6Chnxs

According to the personal information she posted on her channel (HERE), she is 50 years old and traveled with Carol King for a couple years. The youtube implies this is an "original" and was written by her. Something isn't lining up here.
-
How did they ever get this many legends all on the same stage at one time???? HERE
-
I'm a bit confused. Based on information in the youtube posting and the information on her own channel, this person is claiming authorship.
-
Yes, JJ Cale wrote it.
-
Here's another easy one. Cocaine---- (made famous by Eric Clapton)
-
I think Carol King wrote the music. Not sure about the lyrics.

What does forgiveness really mean? Does it mean to totally excuse people who have treated you wrongly, brought you suffering and pain? Act as if it really doesn't matter now? If it does, then, no, there are some people I will never forgive. On the other hand, if it means that I will attempt to resolve myself not to allow thoughts of them to consume my thinking and emotions, and dictate my psychological responses, then, yes, I think I can forgive them.

You are correct, sir.
