Can A Christian Be Possessed By An Evil Spirit

Well, here's the kicker for you. In The Way, you might have been labeled as having a "Spirit of Slumber"--Romans 11:8 (can't see the truth of God's Word)-----from page 20/AC -
Can A Christian Be Possessed By An Evil Spirit

Here is what Wierwille taught in the Advanced Class. Page 19 A born-again believer may become afflicted with evil spirits. The spirits may affect or possess mind and/or body, but not spirit. A daughter of Abraham (believer). Compare Luke 13:16; Romans 4:3,11,16; 9:6-8. Illustration. (a) Natural man of just body and soul would not murder. (b) Spiritual man of body, soul and spirit would not murder. © Thus, one in whom a spirit of murder dwells is the only one who would murder. Disclaimer: I personally believe this stuff is a load of horse crap but you wanted some scriptures so there ya go. EDIT FWIW---This verbiage is inconsistent with Wierwille's phrasing (he would never interchange the words "evil spirit" with "devil spirit" unless he was quoting someone.), leading me to believe he swiped this from one of the multitude of sources he plagiarized. -

Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh -
:biglaugh: Boy Howdy! If that doesn't bring back my memories of Fellow Laborers, nothing will.

Seriously, though? Wierwille frequently pretended God was talking to him. Much of the information he expounded regarding conspiracies and world events came straight from information pipelines he had established with white supremacy groups, such as Liberty Lobby. That didn't stop him from leading us to believe he was getting this information via revelation from God. He had already convinced us, with his "snow on the gas pumps" story, that he had a hot-line to the divine.

"when a woman has her menses, the blood is not fresh, but is already old, so to speak, which is why it is being discarded." This is not consistent with our current knowledge of female physiology.

Happy Holidays, Roy Holy hugs to ya, Bro.

How many WD are currently on the field?

Just how strange are these women you're talking about here?

According to the reports I heard, she had just come out of the local tavern. She threw back her shoulders, raised both her fists and said, "I can lick any Pope in town!"
-
Then again, maybe she was furnishing a new apartment and needed some red drapes as a finishing touch.
-
So then you're saying he was actually "believing" for it? That makes perfect sense.
-
Oh, I think the answer to that one is in the Advanced Class. Quite simply, he wasn't speaking in tongues much on a daily basis.
-
Of course, the other (ugly) side of the coin is that many of us can think of some who "might still be alive if not for The Way."

It was too late to edit. Sorry. I adjusted the original post to convey what I meant to say.

I'm sure there are many parts of my past I don't remember. I'm just saying, I don't know how you can know what your sexual orientation will be until you reach puberty. When I was 5 or 6 years old, the thought of kissing a girl probably repulsed me. Boy, did that all change later.

Oops! Is it "I Know a Place"? -
Now this is the part I truly don't understand. I'm a heterosexual. I only mention that to give some perspective. But, I don't remember ever having any "sexual" thoughts before I reached the age of puberty, hetero or homo. So, how could I have known, from an early age, what my sexual leanings would be? I'm not trying to be contrary. I just don't understand that part.

Good points, one and all. It's not an "us vs. them" kind of thing. It's a "we" thing. Anybody whoever taught the "law of believing" or had someone sign "The Green Card" is a part of it. Maybe that's the lesson we're supposed to learn from that section of scripture where the foot says "I wanna be the liver." and all that jazz. Anyway, I often think it's a bit like one of those brave old souls you see on the evening news. There they are, telling the whole world how they were duped out of their life savings by some sweet talking shyster who feigned genuine interest in their well-being. Why do they do it? I don't know. Maybe they feel it's worth the embarrassment if it helps someone else. Maybe it just gives them a sense of relief to admit their folly. I know one thing. You seldom hear them talk about the wonderful time they had that fateful afternoon as the conman took them to the bank to withdraw their life savings.

Just to give a little perspective to this, can you imagine someone from The People's Temple saying, "I'd probably be dead by now if it was for Jim Jones."?
