  1. Ooops, sorry, Raf, you're right. I guess that "error" would fall more into the interpretation category. I guess I was thinking more in terms of the contradiction between the "Christ in you" teaching and the "absence" thing. I guess "contradictions in PFAL" might be a title for a different thread. ;)-->
  2. After being LOA from GS for a while, it's fun to catch up on all the discussions. Sorry I missed this one. But I'm surprised nobody has mentioned one of the most obvious (to me anyway) documentable errors in PFAL, ie, that "the Word takes the place of the absent Christ." I no longer have a copy of the PFAL syllabus, so I can't look it up. But I know it was definitely there. Comments, anyone?
  3. Happy, happy birthday, to the best Two-Stepper around! Love, ex10
  4. Hope you have the best birthday ever, my fellow Texan. Many birthday cyber hugs!

lifty, I answered your post a little while ago, but somehow it's hung up in the queue. Maybe it will appear in a little while.

    10th Corps

Lifty The 10th Corps was humongous. If I'm remembering correctly, we had 444 to start out. An easy number to remember. But we lost alot of people during the first year, and even more on the Interim year. By the time we made it to our last year, it was all mixed up because of the 11th corps being added who were in-rez 2 years straight, mainly the International corps. By the time the dust cleared, I'm not really sure how many who started out 10th actually graduated with the 10th. Maybe Buck or someone knows? But there were people who I wound up in twig with or working with or whatever our last year, that I didn't know at all our first year. My husband was one of them. We didn't know each other at all our first year. He was sent to Gunnison in March of our 1st year with psychogeer and I spent from May til the Rock at Rome City. Then we (future hubby and me) weren't in the same place again til January of our last year. I guess my point is, there were alot of us in the 10th, and we were pretty much split up most of the time.

    10th Corps

Geeze, Buck, how could I forget??? Although I don't think I ever had the privilege of riding in your deermobile, I do remember it. By the way, I actually saw Dick and his lovely wife in September. They were here visiting some mutual friends. We had a great time cooking fajitas and drinking beer, telling stories, the usual reminiscing..... It seems Dick is pretty good at emailing and keeping in touch with folks. We did have some great times, didn't we?

    10th Corps

Hey you guys. We never were very quiet in-rez.... What say you?
  10. Sudo If I didn't know you, I might wonder about you. But fortuantely, I know you just like to laff!! I thought for sure your link would be to some Elvis tune. Ha!! Thanks for the chuckles. And happy ho-ho to you and yours.
  11. Last night my daughter sang in our town's Symphony's production of Handel's Messiah. It was so moving and uplifting, inspiring, etc. I think that Messiah has got to be my all time favorite Christmas music, even though I listen to it all year long. Next to that, Andrea Boccelli singing Panus Angelicus, and Celine Dion's Ave Maria remind me of Christmases past, and bring back many warm memories. So what are your favorite Christmas tunes?? Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Amy Grant's Breath of Heaven is at the top of my list as well. Very moving at a candlelit Christmas Eve service. What gets you in the holiday mood?
  12. Thanks you guys, especially you Kit, for all the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day. Cathy, when were you in my backyard to take that picture??? Sudo, I laffed out loud at your picture. Firebee, you are too sweet. 7390, wow, good to see you pop in just for my b.day! Thanks for the kind words. And Mandii, nice to see you again too. I could've used your help painting my bedroom last week..... Love to you all, T
  13. Zix I think I WILL save my bucks and wait til my brother reads Prey and borrow his copy, and see if I like it. I'm kinda wierd about reading books though, somehow I get obsessive/compulsive and think I HAVE to finish a book if I start it.
  14. Zix Honestly, the only Crichton book I've read is Timeline, because I got it as a freebie through my book club. But I enjoyed it, not because the plot or story was neccesarily so intriguing, but because of the picture it painted of life in Medieval times. I just never had considered the brutality and violence that abounded then. The science part generally loses me.
  15. So, my question is, should I put this book on my Christmas Wish List??
  16. Happy, happy birthday, Zix. I hope it's a memorable one for you!
  17. Kathy, and Paw of course, I'm not going anywhere. I'll be here for the next 8 years at least (til my youngest graduates) You all are welcome anytime.
  18. Kathy Come on down anytime! Winter is the hot tub season around here, cool enough to enjoy the warm water, but not so cold your hair freezes and your earrings get stuck to the side of the tub. We have awesome Mexican food too, and the marguaritas are well, dangerous, if you drink too many while soaking. I'm sure between the two of us, we could solve all the problems of TWI and it's aftermath. As my husbands likes to say, "Party on, Wayne."
  19. Well, Paw, if you feel like hanging a right, and heading down South, you are always welcome here in Texas. We're only about a thousand or so miles south (and a little west) of Chicago. But let me know, and I'll heat up the hot tub and clean the grill.
  20. Thanks for the chuckles, Millions!
  21. Happy, happy birthday to you, Geek! And may you have many fond memories, and be surrounded by those who love you on your special day. Best wishes, ex10
  22. geeze, I don't know what to say here about this thread. I was in the corps, but somehow never witnessed the infamous video. One of my best girlfriends was injured in that wreck at LEAD. I spent alot of time with her while she was recuperating. She was very worried about Rochelle, because, according to her, she had suffered a severe head injury in the accident. My girlfriend felt like Rochelle didn't get adequate medical care after it happened. And when Rochelle died, she felt partially responsible, because she knew Rochelle was never the same afterwards. How very sad.
  23. Best wishes to you, Linda, on your birthday!! I hope you have many, many more happy days.
