  1. Evan I don't recall Mr. Leonard being at Corps Week, but I know for sure he was at the Rock for the first few days that year. I remember seeing him just outside the main tent, as I was leaving back stage. He was just standing there kinda looking around. I knew who he was so I went up and introduced myself to him and asked if he needed anything. He asked me where he could get something to eat. I was surprised that no one was acting as a "hostess" or anything for him at the time, so I took him over to the main food tent and got him some lunch and something to drink. Mrs. Leonard wasn't with him then. We chatted as we ate, and the main thing I remember about our conversation was that he couldn't stand the music that was being played, the rock and roll type stuff. I do remember that, because my husband was playing in Way Productions at the time. I wish I could remember more about the incident, but it was after all, a long time ago. I'm pretty certain it was Steve Sann who invited him too, unless my memory is alot worse that I thought.
  2. So, uh, how many churches have you guys been to? I mean are you saying this because you have tried going to church and found it to be just like "the cult?" or have you just made your assumptions bases soley on your TWI experiences? Inquiring minds want to know..... :D-->
  3. I was "in" for a dozen years or so, give or take a couple of years when I was "marginally" involved. I also attended Catholic schools for a dozen years, about the same amount of time. And now I've been free longer than I was involved in the fist place, and can view my Way years as something I did in my teens and 20's. I'm really glad I got out before my 30th birthday. I don't exactly know why, but I just am. :)-->
  4. I wish you the happiest of days, kind Sir Zix! Hope it's the best ever.
  5. Another thing we do for the holidays.... Usually we cook our Halloween pumpkins, and then make tons of pumpkin bread. It freezes nicely, then we have lots of loaves to give out as teacher gifts, take to holiday parties, etc. In fact, now that we've been doing it for a dozen years or so, everybody looks forward to receiving a loaf or two. A couple years ago, we didn't make any, and friends and family were oh so disappointed. So the next year they all put their requests in early. :)--> Hope, your party sounds so fun. Maybe we'll have a big one this year as well. You've inspired me. White Dove, why don't you come down for a visit?? Everyone would love to see you.
  6. white dove Mom's the one who makes the pralines, not moi! I just watch usually, and stand by with the plastic wrap. I've tried it, but somehow they just don't come out the same. It' one of those Mom mysteries that I'll never figure out. And M is still in charge of drinking the rum. :D-->
  7. ok sisterex, I officially put you in charge of the rum for the rumball making part of the day. Trust me, as keeper of the rum, you will get real creative towards the end of the day! :D-->
  8. yeah it's pretty confusing alright. and maybe it will never really get sorted out in this lifetime. But that's ok? isn't it?
  9. yeah, you're right ex. maybe it's the southern thing, but I always feel shy about buttin in to other's business. However it doesn't seem to stop me from being extremely nosy... :D-->
  10. ditto to what Steve! said. It's really none of anybody's business what's going on with the W. kids and their mom. I'm so sorry their private pain has been made so public. It's gotta hurt. The least we could do is be respectful of that.
  11. gingee Good idea. My family always does homemade gifts, just because it's a fun way to do something together. My mom makes the best pralines anybody ever tasted, so I make up alot of praline gift baskets. Mom, me, and the kids, nieces and nephews included, always schedule a baking-gift making day together. Everybody brings their list of who they wanna make something for, mom, girls and I get the supplies together, and off we go. It's way too much fun for one family to have.
  12. Radar I think Evan knows how to get in touch with him. Meanwhile, I'll ask brother Mike.
