  1. I don't know about VP, but I distinctly remember Craiggers saying at his PFAL (not WAP) AC (for grads of VP's class) in Rome City that he thought we were on the wrong side in WWII! It's amazing how silent a room can get when someone says something so blatantly moronic! George
  2. Before we move on completely from Family Feud (there, I SAID IT!), I'd like to point out that I watched it regularly until one night when the question was, "Name someone at the Last Supper." One contestant guessed Jesus, which turned out to be the NUMBER 3 CHOICE ; the other said Peter, who turned out to be No. 1. The family of the latter contestant, guessed John and Judas, but couldn't get the last choice. (They tried Thomas, Matthew, and James without success, for three strikes.) The other team jumped in with Paul. DING!! They won because two people in the audience were that unaware. --> I never watched it again. George And yes, the new theme is familiar. It has a 70's feel to it, but I can't place it.
  3. And who could forget Richard Dawson in "The Running Man," playing an even smarmier character than his ****** **** persona! George By the way, is there some reason we're not actually mentioning ****** ****? -->
  4. I believe Sharon is right, though I'm at a loss to guess the "Traxx" connection! (I'm SO ashamed!) :)--> George
  5. Though I must decline your invitation, please accept my heartfelt congratulations! --> Make sure to post some pictures! George
  6. As long as we're derailing anyway, did you notice that in Next Generation, Klingons never beat ANYBODY except other Klingons? (In Deep Space 9, they occasionally beat the Jemm Hadar, but that's only because the Klingons were the "good guys" by then.) Heck, even Traxx could take on a couple Klingons!! George
  7. That's depressing. When I was there, it was always a FIRST-RATE cult!! :D--> George
  8. Traxx, of course. Maybe people would actually watch it, this time. Robert Davi could still be the bad guy (he hasn't changed in fifteen years); Conan O'Brien as Traxx and Reese Witherspoon as the mayor. George
  9. With Priscilla Barnes as Sue and Robert Davi as Dr. Doom? George
  10. And Eva wan't exactly young then, either! I think Eddie was perfect for the part, though. He was able to carry off exasperation with that great baritone voice. (Leeeesa! Ehhhhb!! Mr. Haney!!) I heard that Carroll O'Connor was also up for the part. I don't think it would have worked as well. (Aww geeze, Liser!) George
  11. Lindyhopper is right about the group forming during their WOW year. It was in Chicago around 1980. (I was still in Illinois at the time.) I thought that they all went Corps, staying together through various assignments so they could continue to perform. On the other hand, I haven't heard anything about them for 25 years. George
  12. It looks "campy." I hope I'm right. George
  13. Yes. It wasn't until I saw that he was 99 that I realized he must have been in his 60's during Green Acres! That was fairly common for supporting characters, but not for leading men. George
  14. As I recall, she was pretty much in charge of Way Productions for a long time. With the possible exception of the Corps, WP was TWI's biggest operation. When Don W. stepped down, it probably made sense to someone to replace him with another bureaucrat. --> I can't speculate on the possibility of her having "the goods" on other BOT members; but I can't rule it out, either. George
  15. This brings up an interesting point: if there had been better supervision, would the teachers have agreed to the rock-collecting as punishment? Without some more details, I'm not sure how I would feel about it. How insubordinate was the child? (Blew off a couple assignments, refused to do any schoolwork, or something in between?) How long was the punishment supposed to last? George
  16. I understand that she was LEADING for a while, but had to slow down when she was very low on fuel. She just needs a nice, practical, fuel-efficient car! George

(Sikh? Sheesh!!) Fun, but ridiculous! :D--> George
  18. I've always been a "DC-zombie"; but I never miss a chance to see a good Marvel movie, either. The ever-lovin' Thing was always one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I'm looking forward to it. George
  19. Raf is correct. He's obviously well-versed in Shadoe Stevens's movies! George
  20. So are mine, of course. I kind of hope most people see some tongue in cheek here. When I read your post "I kind of thought, "Traxx," starring Shadoe Stevens? Sheesh! Was that even in theaters? For what, a week in 1987? But okay." I inferred that you were thinking "Traxx" BEFORE Sharon gave the answer. Go rent it. If you don't like it, I'll send you $2 (or whatever it costs to rent a movie these days). (This is to Raf, though I feel relatively certain that anyone watching it will enjoy it.) George
