I believe the way was good (at some point)
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to ckmkeon's topic in About The Way
Ken, I also never was employed or ordained by The Way International. I left in 1979, after having a 10% collapsed lung and none of any TWI ministers prayed or Spoke in Tongues for my health or received revelation about my condition( and at that time I still was in good standing with the ministry), but no one visited me while I was in the hospital recovering, except clergy from other denominations who were friends of my father, a Lutheran pastor. So in my hour of need, guess who was more Christ-like and showed greater renewed mind? You are right, those damnable clergy from denominations, Not TWI. Also, have you your wife or son ever checked out other Christian groups, or read Frank Mead's book Handbook of Denominations in the United State and Canada from Abingdon/Cokesbury Publishers(Nashville/United Methodist)? Get information that is reliable before making wild, erroneous accusations. -
It seems that they are high school and/or college age from Las Vegas,Nevada(?), if I read everything right.

Security Breach at the Way International
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to templelady's topic in About The Way
Actually, Anna according to Mapquest and Google Earth is 3 miles N of Sidney, and both Botkins Road and Wierwille Road, based on school district lines belong to Anna. This means that you have to petition either New Knoxville school board or New Bremen(which includes Minster), and get permission from Anna/Sidney school boards(area includes McCarthyville). -
They could have said McCarthyville(on 29) which is still about 5 miles away, unless Anna decided to annex TWI (can't claim it for property tax purposes). Maybe the Poopees claimed sattellite annexation to keep TWI's hands off their farm property.

The dark side, huh?So Craig was Anakim Skywalker becoming Darth Vader. This should belong in Just plain silly forum or the soap opera returneth.

Speaking In Tongues With Interpretation "Battles"
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to J0nny Ling0's topic in About The Way
Gee! My involvement of TWI was that the twig leader always called out by name people who were to SIT and interpret or do prophecy(based on the leader's revelation manifestations), never chaotic willy-nilly. Or was my case the unusual(did I imagine it)? -
CMKeon, check your private messages located at top right hand corner along lines of My controls and new messages. If interested, you can pm me without derailing the thread/topic.

Security Breach at the Way International
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to templelady's topic in About The Way
Guess what! Wierwille Road on both this site and Mapquest isn't listed as New Knoxvile, but Anna, Ohio(?). Where the hell is Anna(never heard of it)? -
Sorry to bring this subject back up, but with the recent Hanity and Colmes(Fox NEWS and no, it's not about Rosie) on eminent domain, TWI could claim it and kick off the Poopees from their farm and property, making it a gated community with a gatehouse at both ends of Wierwille Road/State Highway 74. BTW, where the hell is Anna, Ohio? Mapquest and GeoEarth resources say 5555 Wierwille Road is not located in New Knoxville.

Chunks of TWI Emotional Intrusion
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to I Love Bagpipes's topic in About The Way
I tend to see GSC as the internet equvilant to AA/Alanon meetings."Hi!.My name is Thomas and I used to belong to The Way International. Hi, Thomas." -
Dear CMcKeon, Your attitude to Mark and Coolchief is uncalled for, childish and immature. Besides some of the responses were not off topic. I am the Lutheran ex-way poster and yes Jesus Christ, not the Bible is the only Word of God. True Christianity never worships a book, even if it has truth. At least recently Mike, Allan, Jonitham, and Oldiesman have finally started to grow up. Maybe you need to pm Pawtuckett. Also, don't run sentences together. In other words, use punctuation and spellcheck.

Christian Fellowship and Research (CFNR)
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to Richard Byrum's topic in About The Way
Richard, welcome to GSC. Raf will be along with the coffee and Belle your waitress will be serving danish. Rochelle now is the president of Christian Research and Fellowship, living in Destin,FL while Lin Michaelsen operates in Marietta,GA. John's matterial seems to be a re-working of Victor Paul Wierwille's writings, which in turn were plagarized writings of John Nelson Darby, George William Scolfield, Ruben Archer Torrey(associated with Dwight Moody), Ethelbert W. Bullinger, Arthur Larkin, Edward William Kenyon, etc. John's CD teachings make it sound that CRF was facing political scrutiny from FL and GA on money laudering accusations. Mary Ann Daly Hendricks came from Moravian background(family also at times were members of Augsburg Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem before joining The Way International). I hold no grudge against them, but they do not seem interested in other legitimate non-denominational video bible classes (no money payment) like Alpha; Beginings; Christian Beleiver; Essential Bible Truth Treasury/Open Home, Open Bible; Beta; Live Worth Living; Challenging Lifestyle; Heart of Revival; Servant Evangelism; Crossways/Divine Drama. etc. which your local denomination can hold without money being exchanged. In other words, free books/materials, free meals, free childcare. -
I can't believe that no one else has posted their story. Gee, I didn't realize my posts were that exciting

I didn't know that Twi had creeds. I realize that this was a parody on the Apostles Creed, but be careful, this could in up in Doctrinal forum or Soap opera(basement).

Welcome back to the twi drinking game!
Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to WordWolf's topic in About The Way
I don't think I'm going to make it through the 1st 5 words of the opening prayer without hurling. -
Mike, the place where Muslims worship is called a mosque, where shoes are removed at the door, and their day of worship is Fridays(daytime) instead of night and Saturdays. BTW, this is one of your better posts in a long time. maybe there is hope for you yet. Agape, Thomas

Thomas Loy Bumgarner replied to WordWolf's topic in About The Way
Let's not forget the drink of the house is Drambuie. hey, for saying that just guzzle until the bottle is empty. -
WW, yes I have the actual books, and there is more that I own, but I am presently typing this at church and the books are at home. Other authors on related HS material are the late Reverand Dennis Bennett(Epicopalian charismatic priest who died in early 1970's); Peter Wagner; Charles Bryant; Billy Graham; Charles Stanley.
-
Gee, I thought this was the title of the Doobie Brothers hit which was sung at the first ROA in '71. By the way(pun not intended) China Grove,NC is just north of Charlotte.
-
WW, titles include Lester Sumrall's The Gifts and Ministries of the Holy Spirit; Sam Storms' Handbook on the Holy Spirit; Smith Wigglesworth-Experiencing God's Power with chapters on healing, annointing, gifts of the spirit; and Albert Simpson's The Holy Spirit: Power from on High, just to name a few.

I haven't visited Bethel, But did visit Bar Harbor area suumer before last in August and it was beautiful.
-
WW, see my response to Bliss. Most books on the HS field are published by Whitaker Press or Christian Publications(Albert Benjamin Simpson/Evangelical Christian Missionary Alliance). Both are located in PA and are often listed in Christian Book Distributors catalouge, and are found in Christian Family Bookstores or Lifeway.
