  1. btw, Gilligan, I think this discussion you started is more appropriately focused on the actual and legitimate topic for discussion (the WC principles) than that other thread rhino mentioned, which is more like a judgement on a person that Ham (who started that thread) has never met.
  2. Dougie! Happy Birthday YOUNG MAN! Here's to MANY, MANY more!
  3. I knew him... back in the 1980s. More than likely, he's still in the Phoenix, AZ area. btw, Randy, This type of inquiry is generally done in the Friend Finder forum. This forum, by State, is generally for locating fellowships or whatever else might be happening in a particular state in the US.

Have a happy one friend... and celebrate with the "Onion Loaf" from Tony Romas! Here's to MANY more!
  5. Just curious, Ham... how much of your view on the way corps is from your experience IN the program? And I think just about everybody already knows that you HAVE SUGGESTED emphatically that the stated intent was flawed to begin with. How much do you have to say for YOU to believe that you've actually made your point (that YOU BELIEVE the intent is flawed)? Or do you believe it is your God given responsibility to prevent the Sowers program from even taking place? Frankly, my impression of your incessant zeal on this subject, and that you seem not to believe you've made your point, is that you have as serious of a lack of understanding of legitimate social and/or emotional boundaries as you claim TWI has had. I'm certainly NOT saying TWI was good at understanding and honoring boundaries. Just that it might be a problem with YOU too, if you can't recognize where your reasonable right to comment on the Sowers program ends and the McMullen's responsibility before God and the people that he recruits begins.
  6. I wonder if they feel like they could do a better job keeping faithful to the stated intent than TWI did? THAT's what I think they probably want to try to do. And IF they get any takers, I hope they figure it out before anyone gets hurt seriously. Otherwise, I don't care what they do with it.
  7. Yeah, I look forward to hearing from you.
  8. Hey Skyrider, I get the impression you were on TWI staff for at least a few years. I can't imagine how tough the transition must have been to a job/career afterward. What's happening for you these days along those lines, if you don't mind me asking? If you do mind, then please disregard my inquiry.
  9. I didn't see anyone trying to get you to recant.
  10. And it apparently was carried (the news item) on a LOCAL Fox affiliate... indicating a little bit of separation (at least) from Fox News Channel's typical bias. Clearly, people with different perspectives will view this situation differently, but I'd have to agree with Wrdsandwrks that an attending physician would be more credible than someone simply commenting on the news story... first person and professional credentials, etc.
  11. They're playing in Florida... spring training. Too cold in NY?
  12. Hey Mstar, have you seen/heard where your buddy Trot's playing now? Btw, the Dbacks finally won today, their first two spring wins... it was split squad day.
  13. It's okay Excie... you can mean "WE." We WERE so young and naive... Thankfully, WE've grown up now. :)
  14. Yayay!!! Happy for niKa! And the niKa clan!!!
  15. well, it DOES still cost $$$$$ to get into the stadium... the expression, I think I used was "practically within walking distance." I have, in practice, actually ridden my bicycle to the library which is right next door to the stadium... so, I might ride up there to take in a game... but it still would be more fun with another baseball fan. Did you see the item I have posted (in a pic) on my page on another web site? It's something that came in yesterday's mail to commemorate the first day of spring training games...
  16. Indeed, teams that suck during spring generally suck in the regular season. And... the best way to guage whether we'll be able to make it out to Surprise is for you to make a trip to AZ... then we'll have to! My understanding is that a Mr. D.C. has been planning a trip from Chitown... and would probably like to see a game (or more than one) in Mesa... of course, I'm practically within walking distance from Giants spring home games... and auto fuel has risen about a quarter a gallon in the last two weeks... so, the closer to home, for me, the better. A Giants/Rangers game in Scottsdale would be a good thing. :) But I haven't checked the schedules to plan any specific games to attend yet.
  17. Cactus League schedule, Feb 27 I haven't found any scores yet, however. I guess the reporters need warming up also! Cactus scores and standings Looks like Colorado and Texas won their games today.
  18. Play BALL! First pitch of the 2008 Cactus League season takes play in about 25 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to have one... certainly not that old. I bought mine new in the early 1980s... used it for a little bit of target practice in the desert a couple of times... a had a couple of others, but had to travel light in Aug 1981, so, I sold all the firearms I had at the time... I enjoyed shooting that rifle...
  21. You won't "get it" by anyone sending you a "PM". You either have a sense of empathy, or you don't. Which are you, OM?
  22. I KNOW what that's like... I've been to football games at Sun Devil Stadium... in AUGUST. Even a night game is too hot. If anyone wants the heat, but A/C for the stadium experience watching baseball, there's always Chase Field (formerly known as "The BOB"). 'Cause he's RICH?
  23. Excellent observation.
