    Hello!

There's nobody here but us chickens! In other news, come join us in the games further down the page.
  2. Ok, let's look at the clues, and see if we get anywhere. We have a show with multiple seasons, that got a lot of prime-time Emmys. So, it's well-known and airs/aired prime-time, possibly on a network channel. (No mention of an Ace Award, which would suggest cable, but that doesn't mean it ISN'T cable.) Principal characters keep dying. It's recent enough that Peter Jackson's :LotR movies predated it- otherwise there'd be no prop of Glamdring. So, from this, I'm going to take a guess and go with "GAME OF THRONES."
  3. I'm trying to figure out which "Howard" this is. If this was Howard Stark, this was probably "Captain America- First Avenger."
  4. i'm pretty sure. I should have checked in sooner. Actually, was it "Inspector Gadget TWO"?
  5. SH was bothering Watson, who was planning on getting married- and thus would move out, meaning SH would need to pay the full rent. Irene Adler was between husbands.
  6. FYI- the scene where the guys come to steal the evidence, and call in the big French dude, 'Dredger", gave us these exchanges between SH and Dredger. Dredger was not in a hurry, and told SH to run.
  7. The movie was "Sherlock Holmes", (the Guy Ritchie version with SH and Dr W as action heroes.) You said the answer, so I count that.
  8. (I don't think I did that badly. I've actually never seen a single episode of any of those shows, nor "Grimm" nor "Supernatural.")
  9. I imagine you wouldn't care if the Sun circled the Earth or vice versa, as the difference isn't of practical use.
  10. I suspect #5 is "Warehouse 13" and #1 is "Special Unit 2." #3, of course, was "Friday the 13th" despite little connection with "Jason the Killer." (BTW, in Latin America, the movie series is called "Jason the Killer", which at least tells you something about the movies- all but the very first, of course. ;) )
  11. I'm sure I can throw out names and hit at least one correctly as either #1 or #5, depending on where they're housing these artifacts. I think I know #3. *thinks* I suspect the one I was thinking of was #5, and #1 is another show I may have the name of. One of the 2 at any rate.
  12. (BTW, Dick Shawn was in "IAMMMMW", so I could have linked out from the original "Producers" to this movie through him- he played LSD in "the Producers.") I think "National Velvet" had a horse in it, and that's all I know about it. I hope Human's got this one.
  13. Any chance this is "My Blue Heaven"?
  14. That's accurate, AFAIK. Out of curiosity, from where did you dredge up that translation?
  15. I left during the big exodus of 1989/1990. The Branch pretty much all left together. (Much of the Territory and Limb, also, for that matter.) I continued to get mail from twi for a few years, then they stopped. Other than that, hq never tried to contact me or my family. For many people, the story was very different. When they wanted to leave, they were harangued. Some people were told their children would die if they left. When T0m M1tche11 wanted to take his wife R@m0n@ and leave (he didn't like lcm boinking his wife), lcm sent one of his stooges to stop the wife and talk her into staying. He succeeded. Shortly thereafter, T0m blew his own brains out. There's lots of people who got different types of pressure put on them when they tried to leave- and there's probably a few who are still in as a result.
  16. ""There is nothing more elusive than an obvious fact." "Whatever he was working on, he obviously succeeded." "How do you know?" "Otherwise, he'd still be alive." "Well, I may not have a choice, hm? After all, I may be paying the rent on my own, soon. Thanks to you." "Get that out of my face." "It's not in your face, it's in my hand." "Get what's in your hand out of my face." "More importantly, let's see what he was trying to dispose of." "Now, by the looks of things, you're between jobs." "And you between husbands. How much did you get for the ring?" "Oh, he was boring, and jealous, and he snored." "Un moment, s'il vous plaît … "Je ne suis pas pressé." "Cours, petit lapin, cours." "Avec plaisir."
  17. FREE POST! I'm blanking, and having enough trouble remembering to update the other thread as we get ready for Thanksgiving.
  18. I linked out with PHIL SILVERS. I thought you guys would have a chance to link him- I can link him if nobody else can (another movie with a long name and MANY actors.) The second time I used the Producers, I used it in the middle, and linked out to WILL FARRELL. I figured he could be linked easily enough since he's been in more than a few movies. The third time was now, with George linking to the ORIGINAL movie, with only one cast member in common between them (Mel Brooks in a voice role.)
  19. "There is nothing more elusive than an obvious fact." "Whatever he was working on, he obviously succeeded." "How do you know?" "Otherwise, he'd still be alive." "Well, I may not have a choice, hm? After all, I may be paying the rent on my own, soon. Thanks to you." "Get that out of my face." "It's not in your face, it's in my hand." "Get what's in your hand out of my face." "More importantly, let's see what he was trying to dispose of."
  20. *thinks* Hey, I can link this guy! Zero Mostel A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum Phil Silvers
  21. I'm familiar with Guy Smiley. I know something about Guy Ritchie, Family Guy and the Cable Guy. I've never heard of this movie. Then again, I've gotten worse with movies over the years, and I don't see the same commercials you do, so that problem multiplies.
  22. Other than Keanu, who would possibly know anybody else from... wait, I know! Jane Wiedlin (Joan of Arc) Clue (singing telegram) Madeline Kahn ("Mrs White") (Or, I could have gone with Rufus, now that I had a moment...)
  23. "Johnny English?" No, he was British and the 2 guys don't pass for British. Some American or Americans who "SOLVE A CRIME." Not "save the day" (action heroes), but SOLVE A CRIME. A DETECTIVE (or detectiveS), Police, FBI, Federal Marshall, something like that.
  24. Next movie. "There is nothing more elusive than an obvious fact." "Whatever he was working on, he obviously succeeded." "How do you know?" "Otherwise, he'd still be alive."
  25. Here's what I have, conjecture and reasoning and clues. We start with 2 obvious heroes, who you expect to get the job done, (Speculation) played by Sam Jackson and "the Rock" (Dwayne Johnson.) Their characters are bumped off early in the movie. The titular character or characters (titular is speculation) are the ones who step in sometime after that happens, and obviously become the focus of the story. Ok which movies COULD it be? Has to be one with titular characters (at least one.) So, not "Get Smart" because he's not called "GET". (Names in other countries for this movie won't count, as this is an English language movie-or Raf would have said SOMETHING.) Considering all that, the time-frame, and movies I haven't seen (almost all of them), that leaves a wild guess. Is this "THE LOSERS"?
