  1. "Under section 37B of the contract signed by him, it states quite clearly that all offers shall become null and void if - and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy: 'I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained, et cetera, et cetera... Fax mentis incendium gloria cultum, et cetera, et cetera... Memo bis punitor delicatum!' It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal! You stole fizzy lifting drinks! You bumped into the ceiling which now has to be washed and sterilized, so you get NOTHING! You LOSE! Good DAY, sir!" "Violet! You're turning violet, Violet! "...Or which way the river's flowing. Is it raining, is it snowing? Is a hurricane a-blowing? Not a speck of light is showing, so the danger must be growing. Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? Is the grisly Reaper mowing? Yes! The danger must be growing 'Cause the rowers keep on rowing And they're certainly not showing ANY SIGN THAT THEY ARE SLOWING!" "Round the world and home again, that's the sailor's way!" "Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker." "The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last." "So shines a good deed in a weary world." "Meine Herrschaften, schenken Sie mir Ihre Aufmerksamkeit. Sie kommen jetzt in den interessantesten und gleichzeitig geheimsten Raum meiner Fabrik. Meine Damen und Herren: der 'Inventing Room'". ["Ladies and gentlemen, please give me your attention. You now come into the most interesting room of my factory, the most secret room at the same time. Ladies and gentlemen: the 'Inventing Room'."] "99-44-100 percent pure."
  2. No, it's from a 70s family classic, and that specific line is a giveaway.
  3. By an amazing coincidence, that was the same name used all year on-grounds in the Medical Office. If you actually needed medical assistance, you phoned and requested a "third aid." And one of their high muck-a-mucks was the one that I heard explaining that to someone, so it's not like that was just some expression he used. He phrased it as a very specific instruction, something to be repeated verbatim if needed.
  4. When addressing the Way Corps themselves, vpw once said that he used to look at how countries had military forces, and the thing that stayed with him about them, the thing he took away from them, was that they had soldiers who were willing to go do what they were told without argument. (That's really NOT the first thing one should take away from any military organization, and if vpw had any actual exposure to them other than the media, he would have known better.) So, he said sarcastically, that, since there were no Christians he saw willing to go into gunfire at an order, that "the armies are stronger than God, our nations are stronger than God." As if the sole measure of anything is the ability to get people to go over a cliff for it. Let's remember vpw's own "background" in the military... Was he a veteran of any armed force? No. Was he in the National Guard or Reserve? No. (He lacked the military background of a DAN QUAYLE.) Was he in the ROTC program in college? No. So, he lacked any direct military training, even at the most rudimentary, elementary level. Did he come from a military family, where he saw the affects of combat on those who went through it? Did he overhear at the dinner table what it meant to go on training maneuvers? No. So, he lacked any direct exposure to the military, and he lacked any INdirect exposure to the military. What does that leave? On what did he base his (mis-)understanding of the armed forces? That leaves mass media- movies and television. He based his concept about what makes the military work upon freaking movies and television. How many of you think that movies and television-especially back before the 70s- ever reflected the realities of the military, or what made them bad, poor, good or great? That's the measure of a LAZY person, one who doesn't put in the work to learn-but that's vpw from Day One. When he was a child, he was lazy and skipped his chores. When he was in school, he cheated at least part of the time that we know of (he was a serial plagiarist.) He chose to go specifically into preaching, and chose the softest option of Divinity School- homiletics, the craft of spinning a tale. His peers were in classes on Bible Linguistics and so on-fields he later claimed to understand. A year into his career as a preacher, and years after he chose to be a preacher, he was INTRODUCED TO THE IDEA THAT THE BIBLE WAS THE WORD OF GOD. That was around when he first began actually reading the Bible with any regularity. He based virtually everything he was remembered FONDLY FOR ENTIRELY on the works of others- Bullinger, Stiles, Kenyon, Leonard- almost all of it through plagiarism. All the rest he's remembered fondly for was the books "by Victor Paul Wierwille" that were written by the twi research staff. He wrote none of it, nor did he edit, but his name was the sole one on the covers. The man was LAZY-which means he wanted others to do all the work. The heights of twi was when he got people to do it. And his model for getting a dedicated core of individuals to do it? His mangled view of the military, as presented in entertainment. The military was there to be loyal and "don't think-just follow orders"- which is actually WARNED ABOUT rather than lauded- in the REAL US military.

  6. Got that pretty fast. For a guy not known for Star Trek, he sure appeared in many editions. He was in the original series, Deep Space 9, and Enterprise. Including as the Balok in "the Corbomite Maneuver."
  7. That's it, "Lost Boys Don't Cry-Baby." "Lost Boys" + "Boys Don't Cry" + "Cry-Baby." I wanted to link "Just One of the Guys" but it ended in "guys", not "boys."
  8. Then the title should be something like "You Don't Know How It Feels", by Tom Petty. Personally, I'm ok returning to "Name that Tune" because this thread is VERY limited in its scope and it's a lot of work to come up with new songs, especially after a while.
  9. Despite playing the title role in "the Next Karate Kid", it wasn't the role that got people really talking about her. It also was a bit of a shock to see her play both roles, especially after she went from long hair in one to chopped off in the other. And The Cure never did a song called "the Next Karate Kid." (You have the first and last movie titles, and now just need the middle one, which we're discussing.)
  10. Balok Mark Wedloe Roo John Dexter Slinky Lloyd Davis
  11. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099329/?ref_=nv_sr_5 You're also looking for the first movie to put Hilary Swank on the map.
  12. That movie was about boxing. And I didn't need to mention that movie to get "Baby" in a title, even if it was necessary. The movie you need to name was named for a song in the soundtrack that was performed by "The Cure." (Name the song and you name the movie.)
  13. Jimmy Smits Running Scared Billy Crystal
  14. It is. And if you have a song ready, you might go ahead.
  15. That can happen. Actually, they do. No, it's at the END.
  16. Anchorman Ben Stiller Meet the Parents
  17. Ok, here's a movie triple again. And the title police will have their heads turned around here. John Waters directs. In 1950s Baltimore, a so-called bad boy with a good heart sets out to win the heart of a good girl. However, she's adopted a male identity and tries to put "her" life behind "him". The real missteps come when "he" gets to the West Coast and tries to assimilate with the guys- and ends up integrated into a pack of vampires in Santa Carla. Stars include Johnny Depp, Traci Lords, Ricki Lake, Hilary Swank, Jason Patric, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman.
  18. That wasn't on my mind, but now that we're on the subject..... You get NOTHING! You LOSE! Good DAY, sir! "Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!
  19. Ok. Thornton Mellon was in "Back to School." Wally Sparks had his own eponymous movie. (That's Latin for "nobody went to see it in the theater." Latin is a very compact language.) And there were a few "Devil"s in "Little Nicky." In at least the first 2 cases, I'm sure that's "RODNEY DANGERFIELD." In that third movie, he did play A Devil, so probably that one as well.
  20. Saying this was a movie about a girl "pretending" to be a guy would really enrage some people. (Certainly the character would object.)
  21. Was this the cast for "Bringing Out The Dead"????
  22. Putting all of them in the same movie is NOT a sign of Armageddon? Then I'm stumped for now.
  23. So it is. Ok, here's a movie triple again. And the title police will have their heads turned around here.
