  1. Heard you had an earthquake. Didn't feel it in California.
  2. "The only reason you went to the Christian Family and Sex class was to hear Doctor say "penis". Branch leader Pat Powell at a twig leader's meeting, Alameda, Ca.
  3. Congratulations. I've just passed some serious learning milestones and I'm fully aware that it doesn't come quite so easy anymore. And be careful out there...
  4. I'm a self-taught engineer and inventor. I don't believe TWI would have made much difference in my education. I just enjoyed working so much I never found the motivation to go to school. I surely can't complain, I have most everything I might want, and a business that will support me and keep me active in my 60's and 70's.
  5. A Google search of "paul's thorn in the flesh" sex turns up lots of non-TWI hits.
  6. Executive Summary: The rapture did start on the 21st, but we're not spiritual enough to see it. But it's in his Bible and in his research. Too bad we can't read it in the Greek, (my words) There will be 5 months of increasing badness for the world, ending in the real rapture on Oct 21st. Just another sad old man that built a life around repackaging and selling scriptures.
  7. Courtesy Patrol is an old Army tradition. When I was stationed in Germany and pulled the duty, it was an E6 Staff Sergeant and a Spec 4 driver (myself). Our orders were to get a 3/4 ton pickup from the motor pool, spend the evening and early morning driving around the local community and pick up and return to the post any drunk or disorderly soldiers. This was in 1972 and I was given to believe the tradition had been going on for a long time. It was a win-win for the Army and the German community. Trouble was averted with a minimal amount of bad feelings and red tape. We didn't carry any weapons, and anyone that we returned to the post would not be disciplined as long as they didn't make trouble. Of all the non mission-related duty I pulled, Courtesy Patrol was probably the least unpleasant. I actually enjoyed driving around the community shooting the bull with a career sergeant. As to Bless Patrol, I never had the privilege.
  8. I have to say that I get a little twisted amusement out of his terse message to Paw. The message will do nothing to erase google's vast and everlasting memory of him. In fact, it will probably lead to a new crop of searches, page hits, and rerankings. Sigh. Anyway, I was there in 1978 and I don't think he was a victim. He shared the stage with VPW and wore a giant smile. From what I could see, he fully embraced all of the very considerable support that TWI offered him. Now, 33 years later, he smells the demise of the neo-cons and the rise of traditional old-school republicans and he wants back in the game, less some *controversial* baggage from the past. Well, just like the memories of TWI abuse many people carry, it doesn't erase.
  9. Looking at the Corps teaching thread and the low value that most of you gave it, I'm wondering at what point did you start to have regrets about your decision to go into the Corps?
  10. The value of "Corps Teachings" was widely touted as one of the main reasons why a follower should join the Way Corps. Likewise, the University of Life was to let people that couldn't do the Corps learn from the material. So what was the value of the Corps Teachings? I don't recall any significant discussion of them here or at Waydale. Did it make a difference in your life? Or was it hours of pseudo-greek metaphoric figure-of-speech rambling?
  11. I'm not a doctor but I'd be happy to take a look...
  12. That's what we need, a Spiritual Anger Management Class...

    Shovel-ready?

I never saw him carry anything heavier than a horn-of-plenty.
  14. And BTW, it's been found that surgeons that use written checklists instead of memory cut the complication and death rate by a more than a third. Yet another case of The Teacher posing as an expert on a subject he knows nothing about. http://health.usnews.com/health-news/managing-your-healthcare/treatment/articles/2009/01/14/surgeons-checklist-saves-lives
  15. A man says something like that in a Christian fellowship and you believe he had the ministry of a pastor? And you... Your frequent references to sexual deviancy of various sorts is really disturbing.
  16. The Man of God for our Time. Our Father in the Word. The Teacher. Anyone else feel like going in the bathroom and putting their finger down their throat?
  17. I go away for a week and come back to find that everybody has been on a mental Colon Cleanse. Johniam, your posts get creepier and creepier as the thread goes on. We have no evidence that VPW had sex with kids. Non sequitur. We have no evidence that any number of clearly bad people have had sex with kids. That you'd even bring up such a thing makes me wonder about your mental state. Here's the thing. I'm not much of a believer anymore. I don't know if there will be a judgment day and if there is I don't pretend to know how Wierwille will be judged. Not my job. Don't care. Not wasting brain cpu cycles on it. For all I know, Wierwille confessed all his sins before he died and God will forgive him and then reward him for his good works. That possibility is one of the issues I have with Christianity. I do know that he hurt a lot of people. And he knowingly passed the the mantle to a certifiable buffoon that hurt even more people. Now sometimes you have to hurt people to help them (I had a root canal Friday). But for the most part, that wasn't the case. Wierwille and Martindale hurt people to control them, to gratify their desire for sex, power and probably a half-dozen other things that my Asperger's brain can't comprehend. And they did it in the name of God. That is just plain wrong, my friend. No way to explain it away, rationalize it or excuse it. Just plain wrong. So in the real world of real people Weirwille was a bad person, not to be trusted and not to be supported. I sincerely regret the support that I gave him.
  18. By all means go, but wear a tee shirt that says.. I'm Only Here for the Strohs
  19. What a beautiful performance. Notice the perfect lip sync with multiple cheap camcorders. Someone put a lot of effort into this...

    Camp Gunnison

So they mark and avoid whole areas? What can I do to get California on the list?
  21. Metaphors? Reality? It's so easy to string and intertwine those things together when you're a Man of God. I'm still stuck on Ephesians and athletic or military....
