It is no longer legal to transport anyone in the back of a pick-up. That law changed around 1996 FYI - I have emailed the Lincoln counrty authorities to find out what is on record regarding this accident....let you all know what I find out.

you know--- this reminds me to a degree of Tom Mitchell and the way TWI just defamed and destroyed his reputation. The thing that those of us who survive these disraught souls can do is restore honor and dignity and affirm their lives...the way just swept these people under the rug...including many ex-way leaders who today still won't acknowledge the disgraceful way they acted. I was in the corpse with HCW, matter of fact knew each others for years before all of that...I also knew Rochelle and loved her. those of you wish to argue in a thread dedicated to her memory, well, could you please ( and I mean this in the most polite way) take it to another thread or if it is just 2 of you, pricate topic eachother or something. they live out in mini-ranch land--ya know, about 5 acre+ spreads. Word has it that the husband was the one who encoraged the sueing (sp?) In that area it is pretty safe and you are more worried about a mail box getting whacked. It is dark in Durngo at 10:30, but not that unusual for people to still be out. This is rural...but it is also Durango...home to lots of winter tourists and granola types too, not just the red-neck shoot first ask questions later types...that would be Odessa Texas...even in the urban part. I have heard that there is no curfew. There is no curfew for any city I can think of in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico or Arizona as far as I can remember. And really if the woman was so badly attacked by anxiety...why didn'the husband get her to the doc that night! Thsi is just another cup of hot coffee on the doorstep.

a. to say -- "its not that bad" implies awareness that it was. a1. if they knew it was bad..why did all the "they" agree with it? a2. if they knew it was bad, and now isnt so bad, why dont they help promote apologizing to all the casualties of the "bad" that they admit too? a3. if they are the same people running it when it was "bad" - (innie admitted) - who in their right mind could really trust them now?

Well, One of my buddies here takes her kid to Durango every other month for visitation...I am sure I will more...Durango is a suburb of Albuquerquein the wild west west perspective

Breif recount here: Myself and S**dy and B**han K*l?n were all hitchiking to lead. We had been put back toward the end of the year becasue we had always been in Way Prod stuff, she did lights he did a lot, and I did costumes such as they were. We had been working on more than one thing by Dan Keyes. Overworked and (most definately underpaid) and alreadyt sleep deprived we set out for the lead thing. We had trouble getting rides and it was dark and we were onthe west side of Oklahoma City...pretty far out just past suburbs. S**dy collapsed on the side of the road. Now this is before the days of cell phones. Her husband and I tried to figure out what to do. We move her off the highway, it was dark after all! and we discussed the only 2 possible options...keep going or go find a believer's house and get her some help.... The answer was pretty obvious. We crossed the highway, each of us taking a shoulder of hers to get her to the other side as fast as we could. We hitchhiked back to Oklahoma City. Found a phone... Made several calls. We did get picked up by some believer and taken to there home to get S**dy into bed to rest. Now, he may be a good iguy now, but P** P*w**ll was an foot and said the next morning we had to hitchhike back to Emporia...NO JOKE I was hoping at least for somebody to come get us, mostly for S**dy. It was absurd. Then of course after we get back, we get the big F*** up talk.
