  6. Hey salami!! we had to cover the adhesive on a floor once...long story but to make it short, 2 seperate flooring guys (1 in way, 1 never in way) told us to skim coat it. What that turned out to be was spreading a thin more "juicy" if you will, coat of concrete over the concrete with the funky smelly adhesive that was uner the asphalt flooring. It was not hard, but was time consuming and we had to get a couple tools...but we most certainly can say from 1-5 its about a 2 on DIY.

  9. Shell----I work with kids..as you know and we get permanenet marker on things...Try Germ-X, or any brand of Hand degermer--hand cleaner stuff. The sooner the better since its slighty pourus. Germ-X is also the best white board cleaner out there, second to disenfectant hand wipes. as far as the tenant lying -- that just sucks....a real betrayal of trust
  10. I have been thinkinG ABOUT THE tITLE of this thread...over a few days...I keep thinking about how "God did not give up the spirit of fear...blah blah" (good verse but misused) It was used against us to disguise the trap.. Ya know like dont be afraid of being trapped in this "holy" cage....such mixed messages is what made it so difficult to sort ones way out of that cage.
  11. You might feel strong outwardly, but I don't think any of us with someone we love "in" can escape the idea that we are most likely held in contempt at some level by those we love. AND that is a rotten thing, its normal not to like to be pigeon holed like that (when we can't buy in to any of the reasoning)...who knows if it is really your Dad subconsciously, what I can see is you want to be respected without the leverage of TWI's little rule book.
  12. Belle...you went to high school in Alaska?

  15. GreaseSpot Cafe > WayDale Documents > Editorial Section The Way International and it's secret deal with the new Cult Awareness Network In early 1998, Rico Magnelli, Public Relations officer of The Way International made a proud announcement to the Way staff at one of the weekday noon time lunch meetings. The announcement concerned a recent telephone conversation that he had with a representative of the Cult Awareness Network. In Magnelli's review of the telephone conversation, he excitedly and proudly stated that since a new management team had taken over the C.A.N. organization, they were now reviewing and revamping some of the information that the previous management of C.A.N. had been disseminating regarding The Way International to its callers. Magnelli went on to say that C.A.N. was now informing callers that The Way International was not in their opinion a cult but merely an organization with differing opinions than mainstream religions. C.A.N. (according to Magnelli) did not consider The Way to be dangerous. This news was excitedly received by the attentively listening Way staff. Magnelli in closing his announcement said that as a result of the conversations with C.A.N., The Way had decided to make a financial contribution to the organization. John Reynolds, the new secretary treasurer of The Way, privately admitted (with a chuckle) months later, that the Way Trustees had been aware that C.A.N. had been taken over and was effectively in the full control of adherents of the Church of Scientology. The financial contribution made by The Way was "substantial."
  16. sum' nuther classes-- You can wipe my butt Sccessful brown-nosing Suppressing your inner anything Ignore, Disguise and Obliterate your gut instinct...
  17. Belle, I have not seen he movie, but what I have seen is the Smithsonion exhibit 4 years ago and then a couple weeks ago. It is warming, the atmosphere is changing. The exhibit explains all of this. The thing I found interesting was this one exhibit where you can see how something in Asia effects something on the other side of the planet. The Mt Penetubo particulates were all over the world, it was absolutely fascinating. http://www.mnh.si.edu/exhibits/atmosphere/
  18. doesn't mean they don't own them (Bernita's writings). Last I saw her...about 5 yrs or so ago, she was attached to Ro@ and Sh****, not TWI per say, but Ro@ and Sh**** were very attached to the Rightly Divided Blurb of TWI. I went college wow with Rob..and was in Texas and NM with them....known them for what feels like a whole nother lifetime LAst I knew they lived in Central Michigan.
  19. Its probably not the right job......not to sound wayish...but in my life I still go where the flow is with me not against me. I think you answered your own question tho'....and I try not to live with regret either
  20. I am 47...with kids and husband, not where I thought I'd be at 16, but then, what do most 16 yr olds know? Maybe I am too naive...but I don't think so, I think I have chosen most of what has come, but I also think the universe has an awful lot to offer... I just received my Bachelor's degree. My kids are young... and needing a lot. But...kids or no kids being true to myself (yes even before including kids or husband) meant getting to know myself again after leaving TWI. Maybe a lot of you held on to yourselves...but having started going to twig before even having a driver's liscense --well that would be another thread. Anyhow-- In the process I found a book that was excellent for helping me hold up the mirror I was looking for. It's called: "Finding Your Own North Star" It is one of those worth rereading every so often..every 5/6 years. I learned that it was really up to me to literally "speak my life into being" and then of course do the work that went with it.
