  1. Well, excuse me for getting ....ed....RHINO Who the hell are these perfect english speakers forgetting? I am an advocate for the National Center for Learning Disabilities and a zillion other causes with their genesis in dyslexia and other problems I can write english papers and research papers with the best of them....but holy crap, I come here not to be judged. And frankly, my very above average IQ husband won't come here because of crap comments like that. Who gives a ****----English is a sucky language as languages go---and yes I do know about many of them.
  2. ok-- I can see some consensus of the definition of "control" is needed.
  3. yes ck, in academic circles you footnote every single thing you quote..is it laborious? yes -- Is it the standard? --YES
  4. I will vouch for HCW as I have known him a long time. and ck--if you think having a grouchy day is the same as raping a woman and blackmailing her husband...you have some issues.
  5. I don't think my dreams are ever for dumping into anothers life and manipulating it tho'
  6. that certainly is not a law based judgement...more like a judgement based law.
  7. T-bone -- dont know where yet...used to work in xray in a hospital specializing in things like colostomies....ANd I have a bachelors in education and a daughter and husband with dyslexia. I love literacy/language/linguistics stuff and stay up on the studies but I also love the medical field. As far as words as WORDS....I help those who can't find them to articulate to some degree that in many cases has no flourish. Communication to others has a whole different slant than communicating to oneself in ones head or on paper. Bagpipes has a great list....it should be called the "man-talk-to woman-list"...to give guys a list of acceptable words to help in conversations with women....because men speaking with men generally dont need emotion words...they speak to communicate simple facts, compete (the one up thing) and in general to assert themselves as the dominant male....Women call green chartreuse, men call green -- uh-- green. need I say more..
  8. you go Ham I did: Language development: A Speech Science: A Articulation and Phonolgical disorders: A I have it easy next semester: Aural Rehab, Pre-Clinic (for anyone working in our clinics) and Beginner Golf (I needed 1 more credit to be 1/2 time)
  9. SOCKS--- OMgaawd---that is just like the book Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse....,amazing how these prophecy things get used for such leverage...

    I'm Dying

long gone I remember your posts when I first left the way. I am sorry for you for this. I working on my master's in speech and language and we have talked about cases like yours where large parts of the mouth/tongue or jaw are removed, tracheotomies and so forth. I understand what you have been through. I also have had cancer. Thankfully nothing for 20 years now...I had all my cervix removed and a small section of my uterus. (before I had kids) (they sewed my pregnancies in with huge extension chord like sutures. All I can say is have making the most of what you left. Try watching the show "Dead Like Me" on the sci fi channel if you can get it...it sorta brings a sense of humor to it...well, I guess thats a relative comment, but its on on Tuesday early evening. On a sadder note, I do have a friend that has had to call Hospice 9 times in 6 years for her mother. Every year I watch her have to explain to her daughter's teacher about her mother -- the oldest living lupus patient with alzheimer's -- and how it effects their family as the mother lives in an adjoining apartment with care givers. I sometimes wonder which way to go is worse...I gues the in the sleep is okay, but it is nice to "make peace" with things if you know your time is coming.
  11. Ok as an outsider-- to me CES is definately nuts. As far as the personal stuff.I don't care to know any more than has been shown, BUT THAT SAID: this outfit has these prophecies that intertwine the personal and the corporate far too much and its seems apparently difficult to seperate this. AND These letters should serve as a warning that his is not a place one gets fellowship, but a place one can get crucified because of someone else's active imgination, dreams, prophecies or whatever... Its very horrible!
  12. No pack should be without that Tom!!! Bring a duck too.
  13. T-Bone - Speech Language Pathology, also known as Communication Disorders
  14. I got all those guys on my street and the YouTube...my teen looks at it pretty regular like.
  15. Its because they just can't handle flying piggies in real life...has to be a prophecy attached!!
  16. did you ever see the movie red dawn? kinda loosely patterned on that premise.
  17. I like to write but never seems to e able to find time...sleeping at 9:30 is preferable to staying up (raising kids and getting a bachelor's and working and now working n a Master's i just too much---it would become a should thing),,,but I do do 1 thing faithfully. I have a notebook I keep with the Christmas decorations. I get it out and on New Years, my husband and I write down the milestones, the thoughts changes, even financial changes...goals reached from the previous year and new goals...and other things....
  18. Frankly these prophecies sound and read like drug induced hallucinations....and from what has come from them --clearly there is nothing godly
  19. waysider - MALpack....More Abundant Life Pack for when the communist invaded and we needed to head for the hills while putting our holiest seminary on hold in Emporia kansas.
  20. I think it gets down to the intentional outcome of the apology. Is it to restore... Is it to just "keep peace" Is it to sound politcally correct?/?? We went through a lot of this on some thread about expecting TWI to apologize...which they will never do for any of the above reasons.
  21. well, having had 1 kid before we left and 1 after, the one before sadly got the cold truth...whether I liked it or not thanks to the fellowship coordinator, so kid number 2 got Santa....at 11 she has figured it out, but loves to play along still. #1 asked me about it when #2 was a baby...and #1 was great at playing along. One year #1 older brother set up the video camera -- camoflaged and everything -- focus on the fire place xmas eve, to help #2 kid catch him coming down the chimney.
  22. Oh gosh..Sarah and I were just oogling the pictures...then she jumps up and down and say, Mom, I could put my Build A Bear clothes on them.... They are so adorable!!
  23. I live with 2 dyslexics who have a hard time and not just "male-nontalkerness" but genuinely have a hard time finding the right words. Nonetheless, when they or anyone is still defensive about what they have said in the "offensive" category...the "but" and "if" words come are spoken. Its not that someone can't be truly sorry, and its not even that they hide in defense (that is nothing more than fear anyhow) but if the point is to be restorative in one's apology, using the "offended you" "hurt your felings" techniques of sayng it doesn't work. The person hurt is NOT restored.
