  1. "Love CAN make you happy"...Mercy from the early 70's me thinks..anyone remeber that one??
  2. Galen..you will love this guy!! Genuine to say the least!!/...D Miller..thanx for the BB web site..looked over the concert stories & will dive into it more later on in the week...the guy to me is & was very special..SOOOOOOOO down to earth & the lyrics of his songs one can really relate to..& nuthin pretentous about him for sure...as his dialogues with the audiences were as good as his songs many times..LOL..JJ
  3. Hey thank you for posting the lyrics...the song is as awsome as the lyrics, as I think everyone can identify with this song...thanks SOOOOO much!! have two of his CD's...both WELL worth the price of admission!
  4. Anyone ever heard of this guy & this particualr song...one of my top 5 of all time....as I went to a couple of his private singing gigs up in southern Michigan a few years back..a very gentle guy...not ex -way but on alot of the Christian music stations now & then...what a song btw..if you ever run across it..its very enlightening! JJ
  5. I have cassette of Miles of Smiles that plays fair to good at times..as most likley I play it once a month if so inspired..I figured that the two of them got chewed out now & then for their "inaccurate" lyrics, as some of the songs are probably "off da word" biblically accuracy wise..LOL..funny as they were the first Wayfer Productions people I ever saw at the BRC right around Jan of 75...them & Joe Fa*r before he was with pressed down..ah..fond memories..I too would like it on CD if available..I loved Bev's flute music & the way she carried herself..just seemed like a genuine person to me!! Thanks Johniam..I like me quite a bit, despite what the responses have been..I'm amazed at much of this & I guess I'm judged by my words..just can't deny what I've experienced . The last "suggestion" by I think Sharon really threw me a bit...as If I'm some mean spirited SOB who has "driven" this poor man to his consistent "coldness" towards most of us...I agree with YOUR assessment..& hold to my own!! JJ

Jerry...."innocent until proven guilty"..guilty of disobedience to God's heart I'm assuming you're meaning..a good one liner IMHO as I've always been told that the "homo hook" is one of the more difficult "hooks"in life to overcome in terms of refusing past behaviopr and making a concious choice TO be obedient to God's Word & NOT partiscipating in the past behavior. I ponder this thread now & then..I have three kids & all are straight..so its hard for me to "think" how I'd react to the specific inqiries mentioned by many of you...ieSharon & outadafog..I respect your positions & obviously JerryB's line of thought most likely isn't what you want to hear..& comes across as callous or unfeeling I suppose..but I think that God is pretty clear on this subject & in the dealings I've had with homos over the years..its been very very seldom that I've been dealt with "honestly" in 9/l0 dealings.. I know that we are to love as Christ loves..& in my life its been super super hard to really "buddy up" to someone who in the back of their mind would have an unGodly adgenda possibly for me in their behalf..thus in allowing a child to sleep over etc with a homo..I'd definitely put my foot down. I play V-ball each week with a homo...and in all of my attempts to treat him with civility & encouragement..he's been very very cold & indifferent..I've never attempted to speak the Bible at him & probably never will and have played against him with him for 6-8 years now..and I see similar behaviors with the different "friends " he brings to play with our group now & then...same ole "chip on their shoulder" mentality..because of their sexual preference...to me its strange because I am hetero & sexual preference to me is something I don't even consider in dealing with others...

Jerry.,.THANK YOU very very much for the GREAT "preaching" on your rather long post..I for one APPRECIATE IT & love your heart towards God for truly working God's Word in a logical manner.I'm just very blessed that you are a man of conviction & have searched & found. In all honesty..I'm pretty dissappointed at the amount of people who have tossed the Bible aside in their lives & for "me & my house" God's Word sure sets the record straight in tough subjects such as this one.. So my friend this has not fallen on these deaf ears & I'll wager that there's alot more of the GSers that honestly agree with what you've written & the search you've made being worthwhile..SO I applaud you sir!JJ
  9. Yeh...I confess to also being "over da hill"..BUt I am fortunate in that I play horseshoes with a bunch over 65 + and I'm the baby of the outfit..LOL..to me the key is to push this bod...as I play alot of V-ball & basketball besides the shoes..& the pain may be there at times, but I feel its for a long term investment in staying healthy. I'd LOVE to still be playing all three of these sports well into my 70's (my goal) & keep the hair that has a few grays in it. Sad how the mirror always tells the truth eh?? LOLOL..JJ
  10. Donna (bowtwi)..looks like we'll FINALLY get to meet, unless the snow storm hits us hard...Glad you're coming east!! JJ
  11. Dang "shaz"...you beat me to the "hook shot" punch by one minute!! Stole 99% of my "thunder" on what I thought was a clever remark..heheheh jj
  12. Hey...without VPW...where would Kareem Abdul Jabbar have ended up (without the "hook shot"?) Sure as hell not sitting on the bench!
  13. Grouho? Glassy Eye'd followers"????Thought it was VPW who had to Glassy EYE??Correct?? JJ
  14. I have a "belief" about rewards...in a way..which one morning I "woke up with"..& its this..when YOU smile at another person or just say "hi"..you get some sort of a reward...maybe your reward is immediate (the other person smiles back or returns your salutation)..or maybe they are eternal..who knows?? To me though, in having considered this for many years..it is for the other person (if you do it for them...just to bless them) & it is a deliberate choice..'cause one can refuse to smile or greet IF they're having a "bad hair day" or something..LOL..so just a nifty idea that I like applying in life..Hey maybe its TOO SIMPLE???
  15. YES!! DMiller & others..I too was there for the "Way of Life or Death"teaching as VPW was banging away at the podium all thru it..comically the round brass hanging "plate" on the poium was knocked off its hinges & fell to the floor & I think right after that happened he (VPW) threw his edition of the WAY Bible into the 5th or 6th row, as I remember it going over my head in row 2 or 3!! LOL... About the most charasmatic I'd ever witnessed him to be...trying to get everyone to believe that Romans l3 was REALLY about the "powers that be in the church (Ie..Wayville OH)" Instead of civil authorities..a night I'll long remember for a 22 year old young buck!! LOL
  16. Since this IS a discussion on "lawsuits"..could someone please tell me if the Parker suit was definitely settled out of court as was the Allen suit?? I never did hear the specifics of what eventually did happen..thanx!! JJ
  17. T'was just flipping channels & noticed a Billy Graham "special" on the tube. I remember being at a teaching by VPW in which he put down Billy Graham & Billy Bright in one fell swoop ("to hell with em") In reference to their rightly dividing of Romans l3..I remember people walking out of that teaching..in fact in the middle of it, as VPW definitely "stood" on his doctrial WAY position of Romans 13. So what sayest thou?? To Me ole Billy has always preached a sermon worth hearing and even in old age, hasn't rocked the doctrinal boat on TV (to the best of my past viewing)..Or do you see his ministry as just another "religion? JJ
  18. I'm VERY sure that IF you ever got an apology from Twitville,Ohio...that they would include a nice little unstamped envelope for your "joy" of making a donation...don't cha think??
  19. I remember after just a few weeks into "the ministry"..that a personal friend from new Knoxville area (about 60 years of age) had remarked to me about "Wierwille's WHorehouses" referring to the ladies affliliated with the Way who lived in New Knoxville.....& how me & the wife just so steadfastly refused to believe any such "rumors" & this man was very very reputable in the community & dear friends of mmy parents (in an obvious position to attempt to help us re-think our associating with such a group)..this was l977 & how QUICLY wife & I chose NOT to believe such a thing...Dr. W's "reverence" was already deeply imbedded in our minds once we took PFAL...brainwashing...meeeebeeee...JJ ;^)
  20. I NEVER drempt I'd ever say this, but George Aar...I agree with you & your posting..for once...He looked like a nice old man to me too! But Hail Mary.......Hail no!!!!!!!!!
  21. The one name I consistently remember hearing being a PFAL grad was the "inventor" of the cartoon character/strip Garfield....Jim Davis right?? Right here from Indiana no less!! Or was that just rumor??

    Ballooning

Cowgirl...beautiful pics...I too enjoyed my "ride" years ago...especially the lift off...did you get to view your cows from the air?? (I'm assuming you have cows & live on a farm in Canada right??) I couldn't see our animals from our lift off point, but to me that would have been a cute sight!Unfortunately for me, the baloon was supposed to reach south of the city, which would have given us a view of the farm, but the winds didn't quite cooperate..JJ
  23. I read most of the book back in the fall...I think the thing that came up in me was the idea of "approaching" wimin in a different "language" & I felt like the way in which I would NEED to say things was of utmost importance...sort of to talk "their" lingo..Having been divorced..& single...I have a hard time with people who recommend putting "words in my mouth"...BUt I culd see how different sexes need to be approached in almost opposite ways..just wasn't sure that IF I complied...that it would really be ME that was being represented...LOL JJ
  24. I think that if the doggie doo doo was batter dipped or something & not poisonous..it'd be bearable..& a person could sponsor alot of WC with that million!!!!!JJ
  25. Down here in Florida...size IS the all important issue...seriously..most of the women who encounter "Mr Big" prefer theirs at a 5 degree angle...and the taller the better...it cannot have any flaws in it and MUST be totally rigid, otherwise the effect would produce alot of complaints.. Interestingly enough, the common practice is to paint "it" either...bright orange (so one can see it with the lights on) or white, since most of our action is (in our case) set up with a blue backdrop. The common diameter is from 7/8" to l" and believe it or not, an overly hardened stake CAN cause much damage to a good set of horseshoes.. So this should set the record straight.. Oh and speaking of "pet names"...a good pal of mine had a wifie who named his "King Richard" (ya know .."dick"..& not the investigative type either)...LOL..such goings on at this cafe!!!!!!!!!JJ
