  1. Tracy Chapman's song... The Promise...This video was so well done... I just had to post it. With the quotes and artwork... well, I can't sit through this without sobbing! (go get the Kleenex box) Enjoy!
  2. going to see her in may.. YIPPEE!!!!! LESLIE FEIST! more feist
  3. Dog Lover, Thanks.. I knew the spelling was off... and wasn't quite sure if it was 11 or 13... i knew it was an odd number. And yes.. sooooooo sad to see he's still there... with such ability on those keys he could have done soooooooo much more!!! (IMHO) sigh.... Mr. MusicMan... thanks for the emergency procedure.... I appreciate it!
  4. Dear Dave... OMG... I just watched a clip from their SPRING BLOSSOMS concert... the choir was singing in the most hideous brown skirts (for women) and unmatching blouses...and the men in white shirts with those country bow ties... I want to vomit.. they look like corpses up there singing.. OMG... OMG.. OMG... SOOOOOO GLAD, actually DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY i'm no longer there.... the music is enough to send you into a psych ward! didn't see your question there... but if the piano player is the same i saw playing with the choir it's Geoff Meyer... from the 11th corps... i don't have the heart to go back and see if he's the same guy on both songs. i get the worse knot in my stomach just listening to their sterile, polished sound...
  5. I here you there MSTAR on the sound reaching someplace important...wow... Hey .. Mstar.. I remember you posting once a while back about some of your stainglass artwork ending up on some album cover ... Tull's I believe. Would you share that story here again... I thought it was soooooooooooooooooo cool!
  6. This is genius at work... in 5/8 time...
  7. I wasn't WANTING to be GOOD at climbing rocks... and I don't believe that was the intent of LEAD... because if it had been, there would have been a test or questionnaire and maybe a Doctor's note and some sort of BILL of Health you should have been required to pass before attempting the death defying things they asked us to do especially older people. Putting our lives and health at risk like that ... darn right shameful! If I remember correctly, it was suppose to build LEADERSHIP skills. Right... the only thing I learned about being a leader on LEAD was .. what NOT to do if you want to be a loving, empathetic and caring minister. They have soooooo much to answer for! HECK!!!! I remember LCM laughing at the fact that when he was sent out on that PRE-LEAD thing out in CA ... one night it rained really heavily and they were out on their solo...and LCM ended up running into the bathrooms for shelter and met up with other leaders who had also escaped the rain such as REV. Moneyhands and others. WHAT A BUNCH OF PATHETIC IDIOTS! GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... I'm feeling that boiling thing happening again... I better go
  8. Mstar... NICE NICE NICE... A little Bruce Cockburn on a lovely spring day.. doesn't get much better. I was a complete Cockburn junkie in the 80's ... right about when that album came out and his earlier stuff too... he's an amazing guitarist. I saw him live in 1982 in Ottawa and the National Arts Centre. He was just getting into his 'harder' electric sound and I didn't get to hear the more accoustic side of him which I loved more. His newest album released in 2006 shows him getting back to his roots I think ... here's a taste ... OK... I tried to find an old song of Bruce's.. hard to find...but I found this one... All The Diamonds In The World you can certainly see his Christian influence in this song... and many others. I was actually wanting to post... Going To The Country.. MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE! LIKE EAGLE YW= YOU"RE WELCOME
  9. Eyes Open, thank you for sharing your story... my lead experience was certainly NOT on my TOP 10 things to do in my life. I remember coming off that mountain and thinking (I was 21 at this time) that I NEVER wanted to have children. I had heard that bearing children was one of the hardest things a woman could physically do in her life. If it was ANYTHING like LEAD, I wanted no part of it! I did have children later on (3 to be exact) and each delivery was treated with love and care. I handled each delivery like a trooper and they were all natural deliveries... with the help of a bit of gas and a few pain injections. What a difference that was to my 'YELL, CONFRONT, INTIMIDATE AND HUMILIATE TREATMENT I received on those rocks. I was treated like the biggest whimp, idiot, looser and failure there was. We climbed to the top of Mt. Capitan and down pretty much running since they didn't want us walking at night. I had blisters the size of .50 cent coins on my feet and was told I was selfish and inconsiderate since I had said I could help with the dinner as long as I could sit down since my feet where bleeding at this point where my blisters had burst. There's lots more, but I find this exhausting and it brings up still too much rage in me when I recall all the details. BTW.... I could not figure out for the life of me... who was Rev. Lardbutt????
  10. DOOJ ... cool tune by G. Harrison on the Ukulele..... you gotta love that! Thanks DOUGIE!
  11. Dooj... Nice work!!! OOOOOHHHHHH.... the Travelin' Wilburys.... coolest music ever! PB.... MY all time favourite Blue Rodeo Tune There is so much pain in this song... it just rips right into you! one more... This is Jim Cuddy (lead singer) of Blue Rodeo with Kathleen Edwards... (opening act for John Mayer 2 nights ago in T.O.) For Dougie!
  12. thought you'd enjoy that manoeuvre!
  13. OK... DOOJ.... Now you're onto something here... GREAT GREAT GREAT TASTE GIRL!!! Diana has got the chops!
  14. I guess they just don't make anchor's like they used to!
  15. OK.. I've never posted around these parts... but I just had to share this with you here. Paw.. if it's too 'crude' .. i will understand and you can delete at your discretion. The Penis Study The American Government funded a study to see why the head of a man's penis was larger than the shaft. After 1 year and $180,000, they concluded that the reason that the head was larger than the shaft was to give the man more pleasure during intercourse. After the US published the Study, the French decided to do their own study. After $250,000 and 3 years of research, they concluded that the reason the head was larger than the shaft was to give the woman more pleasure during intercourse. The Irish, unsatisfied with these findings, conducted their own study. After 2 weeks and a cost of around $15.00, and 2 cases of Guinness, they concluded that it was to keep a man's hand from flying off and hitting himself in the forehead. :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
  16. I'm peeking in here just a tad late... BUT THIS IS A MUST... I MUST WISH MY MUSIC FRIEND A Dougie ... you have given me the richest music ever and friendship as well! YOU ARE WISHED A WONDERFUL DAY MY FRIEND!
  17. i understood you excie.. i think what you meant to say... is it sad how we came become 'detached' to what we were involved in. that's a good point you bring up... actually one that needs more looking into to.
  18. Oenophile said it right... sounds like those miserable comforters. As I read all these stories of people and their treatment in TWI... I couldn't help but have this vivid picture in my mind of Job buried up to his neck in S*H*I*T and had lost everything that ever mattered in his life and his 3 favourite pals looking over him and saying... What did YOU do wrong Job? You MUST have done something wrong? Look at your life... Sheesh.. TWI was the miserable comforter ... hahahha and the irony of it all was that they taught the complete opposite. They taught that THEY were the JOB's of this world (or potentially) and his 3 buddies were religion or worse THE DEBBIL!! couldn't get it more BASS-ACKWARDS if you tried. figures ... leave it up to TWI to do something like that!

  21. dear spot, I love your name.. so sweet. Welcome to GS... I know you will find some comfort and some answers here. Thank you for being so open and honest about your feelings. It was very refreshing. And no be worried about your life. Things have a way of sorting themselves out. Just don't get yourself into that way mind disease that is "it must be something WRONG i'm doing" vortex. Just keep doing what you know to do is right and your peace and answers will come.
  22. I remember attending her 70th Birthday Party they had for her at HQ. She got up and spoke at the mic .... she said, "I'd rather be 69... I like the connotation better!"
