I use a vacuum cleaner, I know I am not supposed to but I do. it is just easier than those spray cans and my vacuum has a plastic nozzle so it does not have magnetic issues.

You can tell when a computer needs cleaning when the processor fan starts to wind incessantly.

the fans on today's PC are connected to a gauge that when the processor is under load (being used real hard the fan turns faster. Unlike older computers where the fan just turned a certain speed and that was it. If you computer's fan keeps winding and is noticeably louder than it used to be it is most likely time to blow or suck the dist out of the heat sync under the processor fan.

Adorable puppies are the third option :)
