"It's Not Unusual"

For artist it's a toss up between Wayne Newton or Tom Jones -

I pick Tom Jones because I seem to remember extremely tight pants,

which would be Tom Jones.

So my guess is:

"It's Not Unusual" by Tom Jones

To All The Girls I've Loved Before

Julio Iglesias and Willie"The Red Headed Stranger" Nelson.

"I raise my head in a touchy situation.

(xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)

Yes, I make my bed in the heart of the nation."

I can bring you pain I can bring you sudden pleasure

Your life will only gain if you're love's final measure.

No takers on this one yet?

Sheesh!! Where's your spirit of adventure?

Oh, well, no skin off my nose.

:wink2:

Okay, how to decipher these clues?

I know there's a band named Spirit, who did "I've Got a Line on You".

The name of the song - Skin????

So, Skin by Spirit?

That's all I got...

Mr. Skin? I think I'll let prudence rule the day

and keep my comments to myself. :redface2:

New Tune:

I’ve got four or five hundred miles to go

Down that southbound highway

’53 studebaker goin’ for broke

I'm pushin' it night and day

First clue:

I’ve got four or five hundred miles to go

Down that southbound highway

’53 studebaker goin’ for broke

I’m pushin’ it night and day

Second clue:

Pack my bags

Don’t be too slow

I should have quit you baby

A long time ago

Waysider:

This song isn't "Killin' Floor", but it could easily be a homage, same as "Lemon Song" by Led Zeppelin.

However, it's very apparent that the "Lemon Song" is indeed a homage to "Killin Floor", while this song is a bit more subtle.

Here's a clue:

In the "Killin' Floor" lyrics, if you change the "went" to "going" then you'll pretty much have the name of this song.

I really think you're groovy.

Let's go out to a movie.

Whatta ya say now?

I knew the band but forgot the song title. (Looked it up so I'm disqualified. :() When someone answers, I have an interesting site comparing this song to another with a similarly titled song by another band.

All I hear when I look at these lyrics is:

Just tripping down the cobblestones

Looking for love and feeling groovy

lalalalalala...feeling groovy.....lalala...

I don't have a clue - but feeling groovy is sure stuck in my head! :biglaugh:

Here's a little clue.

The song is actually somewhat tongue in cheek.

If you listen closely to the lyrics, you will find they are mildly poking fun at this particular genre.

That becomes even clearer when you see the direction their careers took after this effort.

Here's another snippet:

"You're my pride and joy, etc."
