Ressurection Sunday always reminds me of the wonderful song with the chorus, "He got up". Anyone know the name of that song or where I could get a copy of it?

Pasqua is Spanish for Easter Bluzeman. Easter Island in the Pacific is Isla de Pasqua.
OK - hope this is funny and not a downer on this thread. This morning my daughter (17 with no TWI exposure and little religious exposure) comes downstairs and asks, "What is this thing where Jesus comes back as a bunny and lays eggs?" I couldn't help it I just started laughing real loud, as did she. We got into a short discussion of religious assimiliation but most of the time we just kept laughing about religion.
We went to the outdoor service this morning at the Pavillion in our town. It was a perfect, beautiful morning. We were sitting in the grass up on the back hill overlooking most of the goings on. There is something so moving about 10,000 people singing about serving a risen saviour. Twas a beautiful service, with a simple message. "He Lives!"
That songs gives me chills too. I started singing in the church choir when I was about twelve, and we always sang this song on Easter Sunday. Our pastor's wife sang in the choir as well, and she had a great singing voice, very low for a female. I always tried to stand next to her on Easter, because when we got to the beginning of the chorus, 'Up from the grave he arose", the depth of her voice made it sound like God Himself describing how He reached down into the depths and mightily brought out His Son.
We celebrated Easter yesterday with my family, which is English/Welsh.
Next Sunday, we will celebrate Pascha (Greek Orthodox Easter) with hubby's family. This week is the Holy Week following Palm Sunday (which was yesterday for the Greek Orthodox religion.)
Personally, I like how the Greeks celebrate Pascha. They're more into the "He Is Risen!" thing - it's bigger than Christmas to them. Of course, we're having a big feast here at our house - lamb, Greek potatoes, asparagas, salad, rosemary carrots, ouzo, bakalava, and red eggs. I think hubby is going to the midnight liturgy - I've never been because of the kids. We don't have anything to do with the Easter Bunny or any of that - no commercialism (but the kids do get candy). I like the absence of some of that stuff, because I think it only confuses kids and takes away from the real reason for the day.

That was a funny story Rumrunner! And Chas...Lamb, Ouzo, and Baklava, isn't that some kind of holy trinity or somthing? :) Sounds like a great Easter dinner!

C'mon over! I just picked up the leg of lamb today from the meat market - almost 12lb. I'm going to pack it with tons of garlic cloves, fresh oregano and thyme, rub olive oil and Greek seasoning over the outside, and let it roast until it's med-rare... surrounded by potatoes coated with olive oil and tomato sauce, that will soak up the juices.... should be good!
A great one, but not the one I'm thinking of. Only heard it in twi. Snappy tune. Seems like the only words in the chorus were, "He got up" da da da da da dah "He got up" . . . . several times. Remember a sole female voice singing it.
