Rocky......yep, Charlene's book would go a long way to explaining twi-doctrine, my thought processes and my personal story as well. But in my case.......add a couple of WOW years, red-flags during inrez training, a 10-day deprogramming episode, more corps assignments and staying after dem "fog years" to thwart chrisgeer's power-grab. What a ride! LOL. Thankfully, I too.....had years of inner-dissention about wierwille since 1978 [and martindale and geer] that had been building and catalogued to memory. But, all in all......our two boys would understand their parents' journey in a huge way by reading this book.

It is GOOD to give, of an open and generous heart. Because you want to. It is NOT GOOD to give, of obligation or worse, fear that God will ignore you. The tithe is rooted in Mosaic law. If you find a Levite to give to, maybe you could reconsider tithing. Your church minister is not a Levite. Might want supporting financially, but that does make him/her a Levite. The instruction to the new churches, as beaten out in Acts 15, contains this: Where does it say, these new believers must tithe? Right alongside where it says the men must be circumcised? Oh, no, wrong - they decided that wasn't necessary.

When I was in twi, at hq, they were struggling with dismal attendance at the advanced class. So, they let advanced class grads attend (they had to work of course) to make the vee pee auditorium seem not so empty. I distinctly remember my conversation with John Rupp at the time, that we were preparing for an influx of God's people. He simply said "yupp" and kept driving me back to the brc. He had a dismissive look of one who not only has read the writing on the wall, but was charged with puntuation. My point. Twi is fading and no band aid will stop the hemorrhaging. I guess Gamaliel was right.
