  1. In reading your posts in this forum, Coolwaters, it sounds like you want your husband to allow you time to get things organized and it sounds like you want him to get to know you in different ways, besides the physical. Is that accurate?
  2. Have you tried speaking directly to your partner, Coolwaters? This isn't always the easiest measure to take, however, not all men are the same and so much depends on health conditions and communications between the people involved. Expectations can cause great misundertandings and frustration.
  3. Congratulations to you Rascal and Zshot! Success came and perseverance paid off!
  4. This thread couldn't have come at a better time! The Flylady site is awesome and makes so much sense. Thanks a bunch!
  5. If you go off the pain pills, be sure and talk to your doctor and go off slowly. I reduced my medication every two weeks instead of every week. I was on a drug called nerotin. I can't remember how to spell it. Made me sleep a lot! If you your stomach can handle it, try eating the hottest spiciest food you can. This is suppose to help you deal with the pain. Evening oil of primrose has helped me along with cod liver oil capsules, vitamines C & B complex (time release solaray brand), & vitamine E. Not getting upset for any length of time has helped before, too. When I get angry and stay mad for awhile that aggravates my sore spots.
  6. Thanks for the positive feedback and true to life experiences. The year before I became a Reiki teacher there was an assignment in psychology class to write about an article. I found an article about babies doing much better with touch and how they need it to thrive. Ex, I can't begin to totally understand what has happened to you and your family. The one good thing that came from my molestations and rape was that I have empathy for those that have been through such things. I can't take the sting out of such things for others, I can only just be and continue to heal these issues. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the awful stuff that happend in the past. While I'm not a therapist, many clients and friends say that what happens when they talk to me supports their healing.
  7. Dmiller, the second sentence is an outcome of the first. To elaborate, only cause I want to, I had heard about Greasespot and The Way International from Oak. Oak took me out to Chicago in April when Cindy! and Steve! got married and after meeting some of the people of the cafe, I began to post a little. Since I'm not a former member of The Way and not a christian, there are many posts I leave alone. I am not a debater by nature.
  8. Making some good points, here!
  9. My client, Michelle, had about 4 or 5 sessions with me and her not very gullible husband insisted on being their, too! He would fall asleep and it was almost a two for 1 reiki session! He insisted on going with Michelle after the first Reiki session and actually had one himself. She is able to fight off colds better and cut back on her soda pop to 1 a day! She was drinking atleast a six pack a day.
  10. Thanks George for your reply. Some of the studies they have done have not been correctly. I don't have written reports. I have testimonies. Research that isn't biased against Reiki or for Reiki is what is needed. However, I could not act like I was giving someone Reiki and not have it happen because of the nature of Reiki. It flows when people want it. It won't when people don't. It literally backs up in my wrist when people have enough of it.
  11. We all have our ideas about things and it is silly to expect everyone to agree on everything. I don't have to like that people poo poo what has been an amazing experience for me. I don't agree 100% with any book I've read about Reiki. I appreciate your input Cindy! and Dmiller. I have wondered why I've been active with Grease Spot and when these questions came up it made sense to me that's why I felt drawn to post some and be in chat sometimes. I came here because of Oakspear and I've been staying because it's interesting.
  12. I've been reikildy on the internet since the winter of 97'. I've tried other screen names and this is the one I like. When I first went into chat I was tall redhead and decided not to continue with that name. Reiki is a big part of my life. So George you have your ideas about it and I have mine. Someone asked and I didn't give the full monty on what it is about because I knew people would think it wasn't real. I didn't discuss it until someone asked. I am not about convincing people of anything. Not all reiki people are sweet and wonderful either. I have been part of the movement to keep prices affordable for classes and to have students decided for themselves for works with Reiki better than other techniques. No drugs, no long waits in the Dr.'s office sitting with half your clothes off for atleast 15 minutes before you get seen makes me think that reiki could be a good SUPPLEMENT to western medicine. If nurses and licensed massage therapists can get CEU's for taking Reiki classes than it can't all be fake or of no benefit. Doctors are taking classes and using it also. It doesn't take the place of medical care, however, it sure can help. I've seen people have little scaring from surgery and recover faster with Reiki sessions before and after surgery. It's amazing! It is not for everyone and a person should investigate and learn about it before jumping in if they feel so inclined. I do believe the thread was titled "Anyone into Reiki"./B]
  13. I don't what is worse, having a name that many others have or being called something off beat. I have a brother who I have not seen in over twenty-five years who was named "Rehn" because it was my Dad's Mother's maiden name....
  14. I think it would awesome to have the technology to go space trucking!
  15. I've been a Reiki Teacher/Master for ten years. It is a natural way of healing. It isn't a religion and it isn't faith healing. It's very soothing and relaxing. Essential Reiki by Diane Stein and many other books are good about Reiki. You may find them in your local new age shop or library. The web has a lot of information on it and where you live there are probably a lot of teachers and practioners. Ex, it is not a cult.
  16. I agree that is great fun to hear about where Flat Stanley goes. It's always nice at parent teacher conferences to get some kudos about your child!
  17. Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!

    Paw's Birthday

    Happy Birthday, Pawtucket!
  19. Thanks, I have fond memories of listening to that song. Have a happy Thanks Giving!
  20. I saw what paying extra on a morgage did. My first husband bought a place through FHA in 1981. He started making a lot more money and started paying more on it. When our son was six weeks old he made his last house payment. He bought a $35,000 house in a little over 6 years! I can be really budget minded. It's easier when I'm not living a hectic life. The vaccum seal food storing gadget sounds like a great investment!
  21. What I meant, Galen, by paying the most you can on a morgage was what you spelled out. I didn't mean making your life miserable with a morgage you can barely afford. Rascal did say it was worth it to scrimp while they paid off their place in 8 years! Triple AAA is good for when you can't afford surprises. If you can handle the rare towing bill than you don't need it. I used to drive older cars and planned on so much a year for expenses. You make some really good points. Some of us are willing to spend money so we don't have surprises to pay for. It is true that a person should have money for emergencies, however, everyone has their own risk tolerance. And with that in mind, Triple AAA can put a person's mind at ease as well as having a cell phone for emergenices. I cut cable and also changed my cell phone to just an hour. I do have cable internet. It helps me download stuff from the websites associated with my college text books. I'm taking personal finance now and it is amazing how most people know more about their CD collection than they do their car insurance.
  22. Especially if you drive an older car, get Triple A. The savings on the towing and car insurance is great! Get the highest deductible on your car insurance and home insurance that you can afford. This saves money. Do your homework on big ticket purchases for prices and interest rates. When you get a raise, put the extra money in with your investments or the highest interest account you can get. Keep track of where your money goes. Keep your bills paid on time. If you don't the credit card companies can up your interest rates. Figure out a budget that includes treating your self and family occasionally. Pay the most you can on a mortagage to save money in the long run on interest. Make sure you are not underinsured. Get help if you have a spending problem.
  23. This merger has possibilities. I saw a K-Mart go out and it was awful! Wal-Mart is too big and too powerful. I don't want them to get any bigger. They have treated their help and their vendors horribly and have been prosecuted for buying counterfeited merchandise and trying to sell it twice by Nike. Nike won one of the lawsuits.
