  1. What good came of it.. I don't know. but having assessed the cost.. to myself, but especially to those less fortunate than myself.. for me, personally, I threw it all down the crapper. If God wants me to have it, he'll find a different way to get it to me.
  2. Roy, I think you have a good point. "Daddy, daddy" is but just a beginning. And what about the millions of tongues.. have we heard them? Millions of different voices.. and they all may not contain the answer that we seek, but the answer that we need. That's about the best I have for you tonight friend.. :)
  3. excuse me a moment.. but this sounds an awful lot like these folks.. http://www.crystalinks.com/crowley.html Just seems to be covered with christian terms. "do what thou wilt.. is the whole of the law.." One thing you could say for Crowley, at least he was honest.. vic on the other hand, could not entirely shed his religious exterior. But they had the same ideology. vp didn't OPENLY espouse it.. but for the "inner circle".. they had "liberty".. all things were "clean" to them.
  4. Could be. Or these talents were learned from parents during a brief window of opportunity. Human speech is like that. I forget the age range.. but I think children are most susceptible to learning language from six months to maybe five or six years old. If they are deprived, they can never make up the lack of early exposure to language. Feral children (lived in the wild) could never recover from that loss, or become productive in society. Well, a sucker may be born every minute.. but not everybody can be convincing enough to sell them the Brooklyn bridge.
  5. Sure he won't mind if we "borrow" it for a while.. Some people seem to be able to just turn on the light, and wowser.. they could sell you an iceberg in the middle of the winter. There are quite a few people who had this kind of charisma.. could draw in a very large crowd, and used it for evil purposes exclusively. Others used it for evil when they weren't using it to communicate the bible.. others, plain didn't do any evil with it, just good. I wonder how much of it really is connected to our concept of christian gifts of the spirit, or holy spirit.
  6. quite possibly because he gives gifts to ALL. It's just, part of the package. I could use my "gifts" to be quite destructive.. but I choose not to.
  7. My take was that he considered it a mark of true spirituality. Should have had Richard Pryor or Lenny Bruce up front. At least we would have had some entertainment along with the foul language.
  8. The only reason I could think of using that kind of vocabulary.. especially in a public setting.. was if that was all the audience could understand. I'd seriously think about finding another audience. Of course.. maybe that's all loy boy could understand. Thing is, I thought he was educated better than that, and I thought he was raised better. Jesus generally didn't use these words toward disciples. Hypocrite, whited sepulcre- were reserved for those whom the description fit. Not used toward the beloved. The spittle drenched tirades that should have been reserved for the WORST, were thrown at the BEST. People who had a love for God.
  9. If.. you can eat bread and vegetables in the same meal, and not be afraid you're inviting the devil to bring gastrointestinal disaster..
  10. When you can say "string" and "chairs", and not necessarily in the same sentence.
  11. Hmm. I guess they will just have to try harder.. Maybe they just don't have any "leadership" left without worn out vocal chords..
  12. I wish we weighed in with a clean slate. I have so many issues in life that would suggest we don't. No junk to deal with.. that would be wonderful.. but apparently that is not to be. At least I think.. :)
  13. George, I wish it was that easy, at least for me..:) Groucho.. I wish so. But apparently a party line is part of the agreement.. at least I think. Dang wars.. wish I didn't have to pick sides one way or the other..
  14. Friend, she's always been there..
  15. Sorry, can't help but being at least a little poetic.. :)
  16. I think.. you have to see it in somebody else. What is "real"..? In a strange kinda way.. I don't think a person can see it in themselves. If you really saw it in yourself, you'd worship the dang mirror for the rest of your days. But if you think you want to know, to find.. think twice.. you may get your prayer answered. You may get more than you asked for. :) But a person would not regret it.
  17. True, unless you just sat through the class, and just went your way. "The Verd takes the place of the absent Christ".. If somebody "missed it".. good for them.
  18. I think it morphed from "I have no friends when it comes to the word of God" to: "I have no friends". Those still in that organization have no real friends. At least that they know of. Here on the outside, they have more friends than they can count. Inside of the household of "perfection", they can't have friends. someone who is closer than a brother. It's like a few other religions.. they have no friends, when it come to the Koran.. or Budha.. I think the Living God gives you a reason to be a friend with anybody. But don't even think of touching their idol, they'll bite your hand off.
  19. I would say very valid. But what is it about these guys.. they seem to think, "well.. it wasn't so bad. Six million, impossible. maybe four, or three and a half.. ". And some of them keep bartering away, trying to trim the number down to what they think is an "acceptable" level. I wonder.. do they consider? Those were millions of people's parents, children, aunts, uncles, cousins.. professors, students, teachers, artists, common laborers, carpenters. They weren't "vermin". It's like a scene out of Dr. Strangelove, where General Turgidson is advising the president..
  20. I would agree. If they really think that their "product" is what it claims to be, i.e. secrets of the universe, truth known like it was not known since the first century.. then I think that THEY think it does. I think these people either have had a lobotomy, or simply drank way too much of their own kool aide. I wonder what the opinion is, on the top of the organization. I'll bet it's not "dog soldiers for da lord", staked to the ground. They might die for the money..
  21. Oh. Like "implicit obedience" or some such nonsense.Hmm. I wonder what happened there.. Right.. just sell me another bridge..
  22. Part of their review of Pawns in the Game.. Grave danger, oppression.. forces of evil.. if you are a "patriot" or "christian" you better wake up.. Almost sounds like one of loy's rants.. sheesh. Why is it they are so adamant as to dismiss the holocaust based primarily on the premise that with the magnitude of it's claims it simply could not be true, and turn around and promote something that sounds even more "outlandish"?
  23. Maybe Ek was the twi version. Needed to look through vic's glass eye to find his way back to the two dimensional world.. sorry, carry on.. :)
  24. I thought Ek was the name of a monster on The Outer Limits.. Oh yeah.. here it is. http://www.theouterlimits.com/episodes/season1960/6035.htm Eck, Ek.. what's the difference..
  25. This is the guy who claims superior knowledge about the gas chambers. I'm not really trying to assasinate his character.. I think he did a good enough job of it all on his own.
