So.. the answer seem to be more that.. SOME people are fundamentally evil, selfish, covetous, lazy, fearful, violent.. that HAVE to be led with a hook in their nose to keep themselves from hurting themselves and others.. but RARELY does it seem to work.. and those who hold the law- the zealously religious- seem to be often the worst. Primitive- yielding to primitive, godless, knee jerk reactions to situations that are bad enough to begin with.. Yes, I've had enough encounters with them too.. Just another nice "thought for the day", heh heh.

I will bring coffee.. one and a half cups of this stuff, and you'll forget you ever even had the worst hangover of your life..

I dunno.. offshoots may be more doctrinally "comfortable".. and I have enjoyed talking with/ fellowshipping a LITTLE bit with some folks around here.. But why be comfortable? I have found "saints", in other very, very unusual circumstances.. doctrinally, does not even closely resemble the old ministry I was involved with.. and the joy is almost undescribable.

In a way Belle, never made sense to me either. Somehow, the Almighty just hangs the spirit up in a celestial "closet" somewhere.. Tells it that it has to wait for some kind of new body, and gives it a big dose of "spiritual" knock out drops.. Doesn't make much sense to me. Makes about as much sense as purgatory..

"have a nice day", heh heh heh. I dunno.. I think I kind of get the message.. but it just seems like common sense to me.. makes no sense to me why others don't/can't.. but fundamentally, are we THAT primitive? Perhaps..

Or perhaps a fear. This fear may be about what they are frightened that they themselves may become.

Yeah.. if the cookie jar is empty, I guess all that's left is to grab at straws.. I still think God works in us though.. but in my opinion.. I think its far more subtle than the "all nine all the time" kind of stuff we were taught.. and many times more "earth shaking" than that.

What I find interesting in all of this.. Why is it: people "back then" had to be TOLD what loving your neighbor is all about.. That you don't just help yourself to his property.. That you don't just murder somebody cause they don't like you or something.. That if you have an animal that will potentially harm or kill somebody, that you'd BETTER do something about it.. That you are supposed to help your neighbor pull his farm animal out of the ditch even if you HATE him.. The list could go on and on.. Are people THAT inately evil and unloving? Do they HAVE to be taught HOW to love, down to the minutest detail? And that IS what you find in the "law".. But it seems that despite all of the careful packaging, and mind-numbing details.. some fail to "get it"..

Could very well be Belle.. kinda like "you'll be a greasespot by midnight".. And they have the "proof".. Nice to be able even just to CONSIDER these kind of statements without fear of getting jumped by the ole lion or something.. Uh oh! now I'm in trouble!! :D Heh heh.

The reason they DON'T get this kind of revelation, in my opinion, is because they DON'T HAVE "revelation" to begin with.. I've seen the most stupid, mundane stuff passed off as "revelation".. "Somebody in the audience, somebody in the audience out there in TV land.. I see you have a broken leg.." No friggin kidding.. probably a couple hundred for that matter.. lets be a little more "specific"! Still.. some poor sucker- probably more than one- is out there jumping up and down, shouting "hallelujah" .. Until he lands on the broken leg.. I think they can't see the greater- and the fact that they can't "see" the lesser only confirms it..

Unfortunately, usually it is the opposite that is true..

Another thought Belle.. My friend who was in the navy described this about when he was in basic training.. Sometimes, somebody would make a cute, little paper ship, place it in the urinal thingy, and set it on fire. As I passed along the line of "troops" present.. it got a rather interesting reaction..

Maybe this was how TWI "officially" supported the relief fund.. Good grief. Taking credit for this.. ptooie.

Scary thing.. it could have been me as well.. and it was for a time.

Possibly the same kind of crap that drove most of us off that are here, I would imagine.. but worse.

Thanks for the comments so far.. I only have a few specific things to say about your comments thus far.. But at least it makes a little bit of sense. I think that in a lot of ways, we took one verse out of the bible and tried to make it a doctrine.. "the day you eat therof, thou shalt surely die".. " well, it MUST mean, died spiritually, after all, it would not make any sense TO ME OTHERWISE.." Maybe we are just not smart enough to see the answer. That's just one verse.. now we have to explain away all that stuff in Ecclesiastes.. Of course death is a kind of change.. and the results are relatively irreversible.

But you sir, are not Jesus. And why you continue to pretend to be, I have no idea.. The Lord Jesus Christ indeed was who he claimed to be.. Abusive, broken down, aduterous, idolatrous drambuie guzzlers need not apply for the position..

I've tried making this point myself Belle.. no fruit, no results.. Where are the RESULTS? Don't tell me what kind of results that I can get.. What in the H is it doing for YOU? Or more appropriately, what is it doing TO you? I have to evaluate myself about things in this manner, all the time.. what about you?
