The disturbing thing about all this though, was I saw more love and concern, and the goodness of God, in a civic organization, than I saw from der vey for the last five years of my involvement.
-
About two years before my exit.. I took Loy up on his challenge that there is nothing else is out there, that the civic organizations were useless, run by spurts, etc.. I chose the local radio club to check out. Really, the first meeting, I was looking for spirits under every rock, in every corner.. they weren't there. And I actually lived to tell about it. And I found a group of good hearted, well meaning folks who's lives and efforts really do make a difference sometimes. Plus it was actually fun. I think I would have been a basket case if I had to exit der vey out into the "cold cruel world" without having established a few friendships.

Thanks.. and to think I was worried about the old coot..

Muskegon river.. sounds like fun.

The troubling thing to me about all of this.. How in the world did we (I) get to the place that we felt that their approval had any real value? And when we reached that point, why was the illusion so powerful that we: Disregarded shear evidence that said approval was not worth a crap.. Ignored the fire-engine red sins, or even crimes of those giving approval, or justified them with supposed biblical excuses.. or couldn't see that we were not inferior to "them" in any way, shape or form? Personally, I lived for said approval, and just as desperately tried to avoid the threat of dissaproval. I think this is something of a spiritual nature. People trying to take the place of the Almighty.. as if their opinion has equal worth. Friggin bastards. I can tell you partly what it took for me to wake up. Trying to seek approval from a Limb coordinator with the mental accuity of a twelve year old. His attempts at giving "reproof" was just a laughable..

Just wondered how our sharp-witted friend who got in furniture bizz and helped his brother scam lots of folks, but somehow is dead character is doing..(have to read his public profile to get this) Maybe he is too busy giving out "presents" at headquarters, does anybody know? Haven't seen any posts for quite a while from him.

Now if I tried that at Bennigan's two nights back, they probably really would have thrown me out..

Anybody who eats mushrooms and jumps down deep dark holes can't be all bad. Oops, wrong Alice..
-
Well, I saw the pictures. At least I will know who I am looking for next time, or at least what they look like!
-
Well Belle, I tried the yellow water at Bennigans last night. It was pretty good after all!
-
Just wonder.. did you guys have some kind of out of body experience, or was I just a little late??? I showed up just before 7:30, and stayed until about 9:30. I ranged about the joint looking for half a dozen folks that I may have never met before, heh heh. No, the management couldn't help either. They polled the various parties for me.. no greasespot party anywhere.. Maybe I got the wrong Bennigans? dunno.. Anyway, the Ceasar salad was pretty good. A nice tall mug of Blue Moon was OK.. If you saw a madman wearing an almost florescent orange shirt running amok, that was me.. The manager finally said, "maybe you should sit at the bar.. they can actually do a fairly good job taking care of you.."

What is suprising though, is how silly all this is has escaped the moderaters all seeing eyes..
-
Sounds like fun, but some studies suggest that while a couple of glasses of carbonated yellow water, or even a quart will make you feel good, when you reach the gallon levels, well, things are pretty ugly the next day.
-
Might explain the popularity of beer. Beer has a striking resemblance to yellow water..
-
Quite true. And I think it unfair to put a bad label on his department, unless this is standard procedure or something.. The media sure LOVES this kind of thing though. Its a living, I guess.. I did give them a loophole with my opinion- this lady is not a Ma Barker type as far as I know. Who knows, maybe she is.
-
Belle, you must admit- without the benefits of yellow water, well, it just would not work.
-
And be more "managable" too..
-
They could argue that older folks can be tough too. But holy smokes. The lady was seventy three years old, and here the guy is trying to interrogate her like a common criminal in the middle of the night, and she is not exactly a Ma Barker type.. at least that I can tell. The "interrogation" doesn't go quite right, so he just writes her a ticket.. I think the one officer deserves whatever beating he gets in the press on this one.
-
He may have come short of saying it, but I bet he THOUGHT it.
-
Actually, yellow water has been proven to be superior to regular water- at least in one important aspect. When challenged or threatened, it has been observed to run away, much faster..
-
Wow, what a "relief".. But I am suprised.. the moderator moved this one to Open, probably only on the way to its true destination..
-
With all the yellow water being exported to WalMarts around the world, now the Chinese are expressing a concern.. Yellow River Water Concerns
-
Whole municipalities are discovering the benefits of yellow water. More "Official" info

Well, I thought I put this in the open forum. But if the last post was pretty definitive, this one is conclusive: Conclusive Proof
