One little side note.. I forget where this was, but some Rabbi (I think anyway) said that we do not worship the same god that our ancestors did. Before anybody could cry foul, he went on to say that God really has never changed, only our perception of God. A not too many hundreds of years ago, peoples god made the sun move around the earth. Today, people's God made and arranged the laws of motion and gravitation. Quite a difference! This is a pretty interesting subject you bring up. It seems that people's perception of God is based largely on their personal knowledge and character.

Reminds me of when ole craigers went nuts hearing about the vey kids being scheduled to go to a holocaust museum. Wanted to "protect their hearts"- ha. Most kids have been exposed to even more gruesome images on TV and video games. Look what craigers did with the power he got over a little, insignificant hole in a cornfield cult outfit. Just imagine if he had power over a nation. And all of this nonsense like "The Thirteenth tribe", "myth of the six million" and other such hogwash makes this kind of thing more possible. The worst evil that exists seems to like to hide behind a few not-so-verifiable "facts".

Yep Uncle H.. I did a research paper in school about the holocaust, specifically why people deny it. I found that if the many of the deniers see concrete proof that the holocaust did indeed occur, the general rationalization is that "it probably really wasn't that bad. Hitler didn't kill six million jews, there were only no more that one and a half million". One of the more "scholarly" individuals who's name came up (can't remember the name off the top of my head now) claimed he was an engineer. His "publication" boasted how he had found the real inner skinny on "da enemy". He had previously stolen bricks from a holocaust site and performed chemical analysis on it. Lo and behold, there was no evidence of prussic acid being in or on the brick. "Aha! Conspiracy!" he cried. Funny, the stolen bricks were from a museum, a recreation. The bricks only dated since the sixties.. some other bricks that may have been actual witnesses had been submerged under water, for DECADES. And somehow he was "suprised and shocked" to find no presence of poison. The kind of "science" employed by other deniers was no better. But his report sounded so modern, so "scientific". Some people probably still believe him. He did have a degree after all- I think it was in history. Must have not liked it, as he seemed to want to rewrite it. I don't think he ever took a chemistry course in his life. Kind of interesting. I think a lot of people find the thought that some of their neighbors who somehow acquire power can be THAT evil to be a very uncomfortable, unsettling belief. Just can't believe it. Some seem to be willing to go to extreme measures to return to the nice belief that everybody and everything is so wonderful.

My opinion of The Thirteenth Tribe is that it provides rationalization for old prejudices, this time, with more of a scholarly, intellectual demeanor. That may or may not have not been the author's intent, but was the effect it had. "see, they are not really Jews. Now we have proof.." ha.

"present truth" is very much like "present macaroni". With a vivid enough of an imagination, you can make it taste like anything. And Paw, I am not beshmirching macaroni.

Hey, at least that would explain a lot. The mind picture of ole Rose "trotting" is rather interesting, to say the least.

I can see it now.. ole Rosie trotting down Wienerville road, and lo, a voice comes to her (supposedly) from heaven! (Guess all of those classes finally paid off..) "Rosa-la, Josh my servant(?) is dead (or at least departed for now..) arise, and takes da peoples back over the promised bridge, for now and forever more".

Now, about Germany.. there could be no new, modern Germany until Hitler and his henchmen were utterly crushed. Interesting that many of the henchmen denied accountability of their actions all the way to their deaths. "We were just following orders", "the Jews had proven themselves to be our enemies" or some such nonsense. Before Hitler, the Jews were among the most loyal among Germans. Personally, I believe that if you carry out an unlawful order you are very accountable for the consequences. This is the parallel that I see with Germany- an organization that raped some, tortured more, and cast out most of their most faithful followers. In my opinion, their hands are blood-stained in at least one instance. "Well, I got some good out of it, they did not rape me". Well, that's OK. They did not rape you, they only raped your sister. Unless there are some REAL changes on their end, the only rebuilding they are going to get is after the place gets bulldozed over.

The least an apology would do would be to get a percentage of us off their backs. You'd think they have thought of that already- that alone might be worth the price of swallowing some pride (even in appearance only) and making the big step. But nooooo, "god" just CANNOT be wrong. The conditions for forgiveness presented by some folk here are pretty reasonable- quit lying, cheating, stealing and worse. Start being honest, tell the truth- even if it "hurts". Prove that you really care. Open the doors of communication wide. Free the slaves. Anyone else noticed their message board is STILL "under construction"? I read some of the posts- not mean or vindictive, just "have you straightened yourself out yet?" In my opinion, that much effort for reconciliation is more than they deserve. They probably have my name and address somewhere. Most folk could find my name and address in about fifteen seconds. As of yet, all I hear is the wind blowing in the corn fields, and I do not really expect anything from them. The nice "open" letter of dear Harve did not impress me either- I don't even see why he bothered. To me, it wasn't worth the effort of reading. The way I read it he was really saying "This is why we choose to be evil, and this is why it is right". But it did cause no small furor. Some here actually thought that they would have a real exchange of ideas with them. Never happened. I highly doubt that good ole Harve even read some of the replies to his posted letter. As to the new website, "we use the internet, now" is hardly a qualification for forgiveness. "We answer the phone once in a blue moon now" is not either. Same hard hearted, recalcitrant bunch of idiots.

So much for a kinder, gentler, we tell our people all about the peas nuts and cumcumbers organization.

Maybe the current singing group is up to snuff on all of the "new, prevailing editions" and classes. For the life of me, I have no idea what they have to sing about.

In my opinion, "present truth" is now just another second rate marketing scheme. Need more money? Convince the flock that all of those old PFAL materials- the collaterals- are "old wineskins". Anybody who's anybody in da tree just HAS to have to new "prevailing" edition. Just label the reformed, defunct materials as "present truth". Works every time.. same for classes. After the poor suckers have gone through five or six "prevailing present truth" versions of old said classes without obtaining any real results, the upper ups can calm the masses, claiming that the classes they took were indeed, old wineskins. That is why they did not get results. You just have to take the new version that's just coming out..

Yes house, that is exactly what I thought. Being on such a short supply of smarts these days, somehow they have to spin it that you really don't need a brain. Somehow they have to explain to the "flock" why MOST of the people with any intellect left, long ago..
