  1. And growing less of it where I want it. Whoever says that you stop growing hair doesn't know what they're talking about.
  2. I have found as I grow older, I am growing hair in places that I would rather not say..
  3. I'm impressed! Nice to see at least one other individual knows the "secret handshake" around here!
  4. Dah, di di di dit, dit di dah dah, di dah, dah di dah dah di di dit, di di dah, dah di dah dit, dah di dah, di di dit.
  5. And Steve, I really like contesting when I can do it. Those guys move around close to 40 WPM, almost fast enough to melt your brain.. but I learned to be able to pick out call signs and exchanges at those speeds. Kinda tough to distinguish between an "S" and an "H" that fast though..
  6. Actually Belle, it was not a real big threat. She had a way of "convincing" sometimes, heh heh.. you know, refuse da food and you breaks her heart.. I think she saw my reaction to the meal. Liver never came up again.
  7. "have to have an open mind"
  8. Hey Steve.. you know, if you ever want to come back, you never would have to take a morse test again.
  9. Yep. I passed the 20WPM exam, when it was required back then. I do have a current license. Going back to school kind of curtailed a lot of the activities, so I put a station in the vehicle. Last couple of days though, particle storm.. bands sure awful.
  10. 1. I drilled a hole in the top of an almost new car. The radio antenna would not work on the car until I bolted a ground strap to the roof with said hole. I almost cried.. but it was either a mangled car, or a radio that did not work. Not too tough of a choice..
  11. 4. I sling the fastest soldering iron this side of the Pecos, but am returning to my first real interest, chemistry. 3. Sometimes I cry at weddings- feel sorry for the poor "suckers", heh heh. 2. I like to feed squirrels. They get about half a pound of walnuts a day around here (shelled).
  12. 6. Steve, I only can recite pi to eight decimal places :(--> , but Greens, Stokes and the Divergence theorem look pretty darn primitive to me. 5. I can comfortably listen to a conversation in morse code close to a speed of 30 to 35 words per minute.
  13. 7. I have eaten liver only once in my life, after my mother threatened me.. after that, no amount of threatening could get me to ever touch it again.
  14. 10. I used to remove eyes from fish when I was very young. 9. Thought that some day I would be a doctor (medical) 8. To this day, I still cannot eat fish.
  15. A lot of this makes me think that ALL of us were screwed. Not just the few unfortunates that came closer to the mog-to-the-world's lecherous grip. He broke a trust with all of us. I can't see how somebody can deny that. Maybe most did not experience the worst, but any good received from that organization was paid for in terms of suffering and worse of our sisters. Makes me feel used, deceived. Kind of sick.
  16. Yep Galen.. my friend described the frenzy on deck as the sailors warfed down gallons of fresh milk..
  17. But I would like to know, after this little report, what is the general impression of the community? How do they feel about a place that won't let you visit your departed loved ones and friends without jumping through more hoops than a circus cat? Plus you have to be "escorted", as if you need help to keep from getting lost. What is with that? What are they afraid of? IMO, TWI deserves any beating they get on this one.
  18. Georgio, somebody just got the punctuation wrong. "We don't really believe. Promises were made."
  19. heh heh heh heh.. priceless!
  20. It's kind of like the mafia. Gotta "protect" them..
  21. Kind of interesting.. unlike Loy, one thing you can say for ole vic was he was slick. Really slick. Even five years ago, I would have found it difficult to believe that he would even be capable of doing half the stuff documented here. He really knew how to work a crowd. NOBODY except for the chosen few were remotely aware of what he was doing behind the scenes. Not being in the "in" crowd, I did not have a clue either. I see people going through what I went through. The denial. How could such a good guy do such dastardly deeds? If you buy into the persona, there is no logical way you could think he did it. He definitely knew "how to win friends and influence people". Even the vast majority of Germans thought Hitler was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe even he had his good moments at times. And that is what they thought, "surely he is not that bad". Some of us take more time than others to wake up.
  22. Abigail, that was the real reason I did not post anything there. I try to leave "da kids" out of it. Still feel sorry for them. I honestly could not think of anything civil to post, so I refrained from doing so. Probably wouldn't do any more good than to get someone mad, think they were reading the rantings of a lunatic.. that's what I would have thought twenty five years ago.
  23. Father Abraham, he had two sons. Two sons had father Abraham... Heh heh.
  24. Makes me think they may have pulled the plug while they are busy "researching" for answers to some of the questions that were posed- heh heh.
