  1. There was supposed to be one in the "Blues Brothers", but I never was able to find it. Kind of funny claim for fame: "our bumper sticker was actually in a movie". I haven't seen a vey bumper sticker anywhere since about 1996.
  2. I wonder- why the claim that things are "better"? I would like to more of a quantitative estimate. "Better" is just so vague.. "Things are really good now. No longer do we try to control people's time, money and sanity. Nor do we demand contributions. We are hiring a group who can do genuine research, that find plagairism unacceptable, and that actually care. We find adultery unacceptable, especially among those in the inner circle. No longer do we protect criminals. One wrong relationship between minister and congregant, and the minister is toast." That would be my definition of "better". Not that I would go back anyway..
  3. Hey! Maybe they are planning on hosting all of the ex-way sites.
  4. That is an agreeable, but pretty big IF. But it makes me wonder. What is he afraid of? I have done a few bad things to folks, and have apologized. To the best of my knowledge, they have forgiven me. It is not too hard to admit you were wrong, or were just plain mean, or out of your mind. I (maybe not others) found even a blanket apology from some of the former leadership acceptable. So what's stopping Loy? Some here would forgive him without a second thought. Others, maybe never. The fair thing to do would be to give us the choice. I think the "moggish" thing to do would be to step up to the plate, acknowledge the guilt and at least attempt to restore honor to some of the names he destroyed. Then the ball would be in our court. One problem though. To do so, he would have to admit that he was WRONG. I don't think he has that in him, but I would like to see him prove me wrong. True about the internet.. any short cuts to ressurect his "mog-dom" and he would have bad publicity on him like "a texan on a pork chop".
  5. Yep.. Bally's probably kicking themselves for overlooking his "true talent".. heh heh.
  6. Onion Eater, I don't know if i would think that there would really be that many people. The kind of scrutiny they are supposed to give the group, only about a dozen or so "followers" would wear you out. The job they have to do by itself would probably put holes in most people's stomachs.
  7. Funny, about all he could do about it, at least in regards to those close by, was just rant and rave about it. No action.. those, outside of the inner circle however, paid for it in spades.
  8. Yep. He'd have to get out and try to push the thing himself..
  9. Maybe he hasn't started his own splinter because of the simply obvious: he just can't find the keys.. (sorry, couldn't resist)
  10. Good question! Before da vey, my beliefs tended to side with the right. When I was old enough to vote, I too was a Reagan republican. After many years of counselling and support, I am now almost a normal human being (just kidding). I think involvement in da ministry encouraged a even more of an opinion leaning to the right. After leaving da vey, no longer do I blindly buy into any party line, democrat, republican or other. Religious preference of the candidate is just about the last determining factor for who I support, at least now. I remind myself that besides the claims they make, they are still POLITICIANS- that the beliefs and persona that they display are carefully crafted to fit public opinion, and may or may not be a good indicator of their true character. Anybody can make a nice, logical convincing speech. Nice speeches and great claims are not worthy of trust, at least in my opinion. In the recent elections, Bush did not recieve my support for at least two reasons. 1. His support for BPL, or broad-band over power lines. This agenda seemed to be one of his goals in life, obviously at the prompting of the electric companies. He strong armed an acceptance of this unproven technology through the FCC in spite the proven harmful interference to radio services, many times precluding such services altogether because of the extent of interference. This was documented by his own engineers. He chose to use all the muscle the executive branch had to push the acceptance of this second rate internet service through its final acceptance by the FCC, for commercial interests, in spite of its proven track record of producing harmful interference. He strong armed his own technical advisors in the NTIA to provide grounds to accept it. This spoke more to me about his character than anything else he could say. And the other republican candidates rubber stamped it. I supported the republican candidate for the house of rep. I still think he was the best guy for the job. 2. Trade in China. Somehow this is the "solution" for America's economic woes. Still maintain grade one status for a country that utilizes slave labor. Can't have slavery here? Well then.. we can have it there. Unbelievable. What's "Christian" about that? Like you, I do not bring these issues up to force an argument with anyone- this is just an example of how I think about things after leaving da ministry. Recent teaching I heard in offshoot. "why the liberals are so biblically wrong, so devilish". Somehow, the conservative party line was the best hope for America. That one lost me from the get go. I would not bother trying to argue with it, person is obviously entitled to think as they wish. But to me, it looks like no common sense, no balance. But that was where I was at one time, enough fair speeches, and an apparent Christian belief was enough to win my support. No longer. Was my change in opinion because of what I experienced in the ministry, the utter failure of those in leadership positions? Perhaps partly. One good thing I learned- people are not always what they seem to be.
  11. But it is a little funny. Kind of like a tick complaining about the pedigree of the dog it's on..
  12. Belle, if that is all true, I wonder who is the next to feel the axe..
  13. Steve, that may be one of the best things they could do. Rosie could "resurrect" the old AOS production. In said tights, she could frighten off any followers that they have left.
  14. Yep.. I still wonder what they really need it for? What are they really doing with it? Have an instant message deal with the warehouse? "send three WAP syllabus to shipping.."
  15. And they really did set him up. Arranged the little "excursions". Literally used their sisters for their own ends. Says a lot about the low regard that the now ruling body has for women. Boy, did he take the bait..
  16. Belle, I hope I made it clear.. I think "rednecks" are wonderful! Hey, "somewhat cultured" rednecks have to be really special.
  17. Yep.. and they are SOOOOO thankful to be living inside of almost paper thin walls, trailers, etc.. the BOD probably constantly reminds them how "generous" they are.
  18. I think I got it.. they need a vast network of computers to keep track of the lawsuits.
  19. Maybe they're planning a takover.. "world domination" of the internet, or some such nonsense..
  20. I wonder. Why in the world do they even need computers anymore? Keep track of the pathetic few 30+ in some of the states? No real professional website either, in my opinion. Email? Maybe for between Donna and Rosie when they are unfortunately separated.. maybe they need it to keep track of all of those new grads of the classes. Cripe, pencil and paper, or even pen on the back of the hand would be cheaper.
  21. Somehow, I don't think he would look very good in tights anymore.
  22. That would be fun.. then there's the old fashioned dunking. But that would be just plain boring..
  23. "Donna, throw that pie and I'll have one less administrative "assistant"."
  24. Heh heh heh.. good suggestion Steve! One problem though, who would want to even watch Rosie to begin with, let alone doing the dishes! Now if they had her and the other BODs sticking their heads through one of those carnival facade thingees, you know.. hole in a board on which clown body is painted.. a person could throw pies, old rotten vegies, etc, for twenty bucks a crack, they would have a REAL money maker. Some might even pay fifty bucks a crack, as long as each throw was guaranteed to hit the "target".
