Not sure what Walter is up to these days except that he has his own subscription journal you can purchase "Scripture Consulting" and also pay for his services to review your research, etc. I know the times I've heard of him traveling around the country to local gatherings have all been Geer affiliated groups, but have no idea if he visits non-Geer groups or not. Johnny T. is (or was at the last I heard fairly recently) the only licensed instructor in Ohio of Walking in God's Power classes and other Geer taught classes/seminars. And, typical of many in Geer groups, does not have very many nice things to say about bible fellowships not affiliated with Geer - - including the large groups in Columbus and Cleveland lead by other former-twi leaders. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experiences, Jim. Mine are not nearly as interesting, but a little non-typical nonetheless. I just returned from a dinner with guests from Colombia (from the Central Bank of Colombia (Banco de Republico) - - like our Federal Reserve Bank here in the U.S.) and from our Mexican distribution partner company. There were 15 or so of us at dinner. I sent out a note to our company today explaining why they were all in town (for technical training on our products) and who they all were and I received an email back from a quiet software engineer who resides way in the middle of a vast sea of cubicles in our engineering section. This is a young man I've only said hi to a couple of times because he rarely comes out of his cubicle. He was so excited we had guests in from Colombia because he was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia - - so I invited him to join us for dinner which invitation he gladly accepted. We had 3 guest from Bogata - - and Jairo had such a wonderful time trading stories about "home"with them - - such a delight to see him lit up like that. Dinner was wonderful and those of us who host these types of things regularly, move around the table to talk to everyone (I, so I could practice my deplorable Spanish) - - and the other managers, so they can at least chit chat with each of our customers. We had 3 English-only folks from our company (CFO and 2 trainers) and we taught them a little Spanish and they asked us for recommendations on places to visit in the U.S. One young dad was just getting ready to go to meet up with his wife and young daughter in Orlando and visit Disneyworld. He had just gotten off the phone with the young daughter who could only exclaim in glee "Minnie, Minnie, Minnie" because she can't wait to meet Minnie there! Nothing major. Just "folks". Wonderful salt of the earth folks. We all had a great time just eating and drinking together despite some of the language challenges - - but plenty of hugs and "besos" (kisses) as we all said "buenos noches". Nice thread, Jim. Thanks. Kansas City last I heard. He had gone from being in major debt to the Geer franchise, to trying to sell all the ex-wayfers insurance. She was waitressing and was doing a MLM health care line on the side. J.

We were glad she had the courage to go in the hospital and get taken care of and trust she is receiving great care so she's back in the swing of life again soon. Certainly the Green Zone needs an ambassador who can cut thru the bull.... like you (wink). Will definitely pray for open doors for you to touch people who need to be loved in that difficult area. Groucho ~ Earl has lived in VA (Charlottesville, I believe) for almost the entire time since leaving HQ. He's had a ministry thing going (don't remember the name) which he has done and partnered with Duke Clarke on many occasions (fellowships, special live seminars, youth camps). Of all the former leaders of twi, Earl at least, is one of the few who got right out an started working. He got his RE license and his family owns a very successful business there - - so at least he's one who has actually gotten a job. Walter lives in po-dunk Franklin, OH (in between Dayton and Cincinnati) and has had a "business" called Scripture Consulting from which he has published a journal of the same name. I saw some of the early versions (1998 or so) of the journal (you could subscribe for $78/year for 6 pretty lengthy issues) and it seems he was early on into the Gospels. He would go around and teach the local Geer-groups (for a fee), but I can't quite remember the name of the classes he was teaching except one was on the book of Job (correcting the phrase "the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me"). Johnny T. lives in Beaverton, OH and is a gentleman farmer with a good amount of acreage. He has a number of local home groups he's associated with and is the ONLY one licensed in the entire state of OH to run Geer classes. Last I spoke with him, he thought all the other "former leaders" in OH were pretty screwed up (that opinion would probably be derived from them not being Geer-groups) (though the group in Columbus with T*m Burk*, K*n McC*w, et al seem to have flourished over the years with many never been way folks). That's my update from what I hear and know first-hand. J.

Rummie ~ I thought you were around still when lcm got "installed" as pres. There were all kinds of sharings by vpw at the time of the Elija/Elisha comparison. If I remember correctly, the Way Rag had a cover story with an article of Elija finding Elisha in the field and putting his mantle on him signifying the "transfer of leadership" or some such thing. vpw, in his over-the-top style though made the "installation" a freakin coronation - - and all the symbolism used were from the OT (very interesting in hind sight). Maybe someone has that issue of the Way rag and can scan it an post it (please put the gag warning on before doing so, though) :). J.
