    Song of the moment

    Townes was a good singer/ songwriter. White Freight liner was a "veiled" reference to cocaine. Here's the version I heard first: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AYl8VBfzH4?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AYl8VBfzH4?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AYl8VBfzH4?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> (edited to add - - - 4 of the best musicians to (currently) inhabit planet earth.)
  3. P.S. - - - I forgot to mention that there is no video. It's audio only. :)
  4. Purt near anyone you might ever have wanted to hear (in concert) is here for you. http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/concerts/ Best of all - - - It's free. Countdown!!!!

I'm with you Groucho. This is getting "tedjious". What's 76 days from today (the latest posting on Oct 2nd.)? December 17th (if my math is correct). I'll check in back then, to see what this is all about. I was wondering if it might be the wedding anniversary of Steve! and Cindy!, but now that I think of it - - - I don't think that wedding took place 8 days before Christmas. That was a MAJOR party, if I recollect correct!

    Thank gawd for beer..

"It was early in December, as near as I remember While walking down the street in tipsy pride No one was I disturbing, as I lay down by the curbing When a pig came up and lay down by my side. As I lay there in the gutter, thinking words I cannot utter A lady passing by was heard to say, "You can tell a man who boozes by the company he chooses" And the pig got up and slowly walked away."
  7. That's a good question. Somehow they have achieved "legitimacy", whereas docvic and twi never did. There's been "scandals" in the JW Org, but the Org has seemed to have weathered them with little detrimental effect. Granted - - - members were lost as a result, but NOTHING like the exodus of 1986/ 87 from twi. I don't know anything about the 7th Day folks, and all I know of the Mormons, is from what TempleLady used to post here. I used to be an active poster on 4 different ex-JW sites. 3 of those 4 are now defunct. I used to use "All along the Watchtower" embedded in my signature pic there. Not many clicked the pic, so it was "lost" on them. Depending on the web site, I have different tunes embedded in the "sig line" below. Yup - - Dylan wrote that tune (All Along The Watchtower). It took Hendrix to raise it to proper "status" in the music world. I've heard Dylan's singing described as sounding - - - "Like a dog with it's hind leg caught in a barb wire fence". I haven't heard a statement (about a singer/ songwriter) like that, that I am more fully in agreement with. Anyway - - - (back to topic), the Mormons (at least) preach and promote family values (among other things), that are sadly missing in today's society, which probably strikes a chord with a lot of "newbies when "witnessed to". With docvic/ lcm/ and now rosie - - - it's always been an "us vs. THEM mentality. I maybe right about this, I might be wrong. But regardless of that - - - I just don't care. It's good to see twi "swirling down the toilet bowl of life", headed for the sewer where they belong. (Yes - -- you may quote me on that!)
  8. RottieGrrrl - - - Yes, it'll definitely get more interesting when they open their eyes/ start to eat solid food/ etc.
  9. Good Lord - - - I HAVE TWO copies here (one was mine, and one belonged to my ex). I could have a he!!-of-a-weekend if I could sell even one of them (for that price).

    Song of the moment

Done with Boneparte "Cyberjam" with Boog picking along with Mark Knopfler. Ian (Boog) is in the right hand corner of the video. Ian is a picker I know of from Edmonton AB, (Canada). I think his banjo picking is an excellent addition to an already good tune. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DyeQJBSfRQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DyeQJBSfRQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DyeQJBSfRQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

    The Bible

Is that from the "literal according to usage"?
  17. If you're tired of the conversation, don't stand in front of the train coming through. Am I being too subtle?
  18. Will we have to sing "Roll Away" at closing time??
  19. Reading this here makes it sounds like a pilgrimage to the Holy Land or something.

  21. I'm guessing they are too busy preparing a "spiritual adventure with rose colored glasses on", to read here and see what can (and did) REALLY happen. Meebe their "believing' is greater now? I hope so - - - for their sakes. "May the Force be with them" after they look at - - - - > > > THE L.E.A.D ACCIDENT. I guess if these folks did take the time to read the 39 pages of testimony there, it would just be "old wine". There is nothing new under the sun. Buena suerte.
  22. I thought it was - - - once - - - maybe still is - - - these days?
  23. Who'd a thunk it? After looking at the site, I have to agree with Sunesis.
