    Who is he?

This topic reminds me of "The Red Thread" teaching from so long ago. Sunday night service tape 801, which I no longer have.
  2. I have the book "House of Acts" also. I got it from Amazon.com
  3. Is this it Excie?? - - - - > > > My link
  4. A couple of friends of mine run this site - - - - - > > > My link Perhaps it will offer some answers for you.
  5. Excie - - That's so cool! Ya know - - "back in the day" I'd of said that her "needs and wants were parallel". These days I'd just say that you are "tapped into" what the Father wanted to see happen for her with you as the "advocate". There's been a time or two (in the past few years) where I've been in a similar situation, and it's such a treat to know that you were in the right place at the right time for whomever you ran across that had a need. Some folks take drugs to get a high like that. I sure don't, and it sounds like you don't have to either.
  6. Did you have a green card handy to sign her up for P-LAF??
  7. Well shucks - - - I made it back home just fine this early April (750 miles from Minney-soda to Indiana one way) and I drove right by the road to Camp (whatever it's called) several times while I was there. It was only after I'd driven by the road to it twice (on the way to and back from the Indy Airport to pick up my brother flying in for the birthday celebration) that I realized I didn't give a rip about what was happening back there in the hills at the CES/STFI (whatever) camp. For all I know - - they don't even own the property any more. Graeser got fired/ John L seems to be living in Indy/ and John Schoenheit seems to MIA (these days). Excie - - thanks for the well wishes for Mom's birthday. It was her second one since Dad died, and it still "wears on her" that he isn't there on "her day", but she's getting used to it now days and we (her kids) do all we can to make it easier for her knowing how hard it must be for her to not have Dad there after 61 years of togetherness. We (the three kids she has left) took her out to dinner at a place called the Scenic Cafe near Lake Monroe (biggest lake in Indiana and just 5 or so miles from her house). It's a spot she likes and after dinner, we drove a bit further down the road where John Mellancamp (Johnny Cougar Mellancamp) has a house on the lake. She likes to "shake her fist" verbally and physically at him (and the house he owns) because he was the commencement speaker at IU once, and he told the graduates that college was a waste of time. She never forgave him for that!! We gave her other gifts for "her day", besides the chance to cuss out John Mellencamp!
  8. I've always liked John. He gets my prayers regardless of what he has (or hasn't) done. If you (whomever YOU are) feel qualified to judge him as "sunk so low" in this his time of prayer request - - here's hoping you never find yourself in the same situation looking for "help from others". Of course there's always - - "Believing equals receiving". If you're a cynical sort of person - - try that instead. Nuthin I'll pray can make a difference, eh?
  9. Mom turns 86 this year (a month and a half from now). Her house is about 10 miles away from the camp and I'll be there in Indiana to help celebrate her birthday. I'll make it a point to drive by the camp and see what (if anything) is going on there.
  10. I've been out for 28 years now. Lot's of TWI stuff is gone. That which I've printed off from this site I've decided to keep. That includes the original letters I have from JAL (and others) from 1986 when the "Sh!t hit the fan". The memories of TWI (and CES) are going to remain. It's nice to have (and keep) (imo) reminders of why I was right to decide to leave. Your opinion might vary. In my opinion - - there's alway room on the bookshelf for another "dusty book", but that's just me.
  11. I saw that the forums were down, but I didn't realize my posting privileges were gone too. Nice to know they are back.
  12. And as pertaining to the second post to the original post - - - I find this to be further proof of some ex (or not) twi folks living in "La-La" land. The mental crap and intellectual robbery that any and all TWI members went through isn't easily forgotten and remembering the injustices from decades ago does NOT qualify as being equated to an "insane" analysis, or institutionalization. I would suggest that the person (persons) holding this point of view go in for the treatment that they suggest for the rest of us, since they are (obviously) the ones who are hoodwinked and delusional. Especially since they have been associated with TWI, and still hold to it's precepts after given all the proof (for the fallacies propounded by twi), that they need right here on GSC. P.S. - - anyone who uses the word zillion is a "low baller" in my book. Define "zillion". You can't. If you mean to express magnitude of any sort, say so in sensible terms.
  13. I would guess that the quote above gets back to the "Neverland" mentioned in the original post. A "safe place" where you never need wander from forever and a day.
  14. zbrick - - I see that yesterday was the seventh anniversary of your joining GSC. One would think that you'd gleaned "a little" of the purpose of this board in that time. This site is not like a "retemory card" that we memorize and study "for our profit". Maybe in another seven years you'll understand that and listen to what's being said. As someone said earlier - - "The truth seems to be beyond you". Catch up if you can.
  15. "Happening place" is NOT a relative term, if you lived and grew up in Bloomington Indiana as I did. It has always been a "hotbed" for cultural/ musical/ religious/ (you name it) activities. If you don't know about the area first hand, please don't assume that I'm wrong with my assessment of the Bloomington area. I wasn't born there, but I lived (and went to school) there from 1954 to 1978. That's grade school/ high school/ and college, and believe me - - the college influenced every thing that ever happened or was attracted to there in town. The stfi "camp" is a mere 5 miles from town. What work for the outbuildings?? How do you know (if you know) that they need work done to them? Last time I was there they were all in great working/ living order, and the kitchen in the "main building" had been upgraded to meet all Govt. codes for big gatherings. Have you ever been there, or do you have any idea of what Bloomington is like, or how close it is to the stfi camp??
  16. It's not exactly in "the middle of nowhere". Bloomington Indiana is just a few minutes (and maybe 5 miles) away from the property being sold by stfi. Bloomington is home to Indiana University (80 some thousand local residents/ 20 or so more thousand under-grad students/ and who knows how many graduate students) all living there in town. Bloomington has always been "a happening place". Especially true for twi back in the 1970's. Seems to me that ces/stfi returned "to their twi" roots, but found no ground to grow in there in the Bloomington area. That (honestly) is some prime property up for sale (in it's entirety). I've been there a couple of times myself just to look around when I was back home (Bloomington) to visit my family there. Is the whole camp for sale?? I seem to remember more acreage there than what was listed in by the realtor. Oh wait - - The realtor is Jenivee Schoenheit. The plot thickens - - - -!
  17. I go through CPR "refresher courses" each year so I can keep on working where I do. And even though CPR seems to change (from one year to the next), I've noticed from year to year is that one thing remains a constant. And that's the tune Staying Alive. It's recommended each and every year as the tune you need to hum to yourself as you do the chest compressions, since it seems to be the "perfect timing" to keep someone "staying alive". Yes - - Travolta's dancing reminds me of "The Rainbow Man". Not something I like to look at or watch, at all.
  18. Right. His "humor" has always been like his climate. Dry.
  19. [quote name='Ham' date='05 June 2013 - 08:38 PM' I was never a class instructor. I was aware of the first eleven points, but who paid for, and sent the card? And was there any cash gift included? Ham - - do you really need to ask that? I think you know the answer. And - - Skyrider: You forgot to mention that the Instructor should also re-iterate that "Learning is an Exciting Adventure" (just like dovic "da teacher") states in the class, to indoctrinate - - whoops, I meant PREPARE the new grads for the next level of "spiritual understanding" offered by THE WAY, for the promotion of the abundant life.
  20. Obviously -- he mastered the Law of Believing.

    my friends

Hey there Roy. How be ye, eh? It's been a year (or so) since I've actually posted anything on GSC, so you're going to have to forgive me if I forget how to post links/ smilies/ you tubes/ or any of all that other "good stuff". I check in here often (to read what folks have written) but I don't have a helluva lot to add to the conversation anymore so I just read, sit back and think, and then realize all has already been pretty much said, so I keep quiet. Not today. First of all - - Happy birthday, eh? Every day above ground is a good one DESPITE what you might be feeling. Remember that - - OK? ABOVE ground, and not 6 feet under. You've had your "times and trials" in life (as ALL of us have), but to succumb to them would be letting those trials win out over you - - and that makes you the loser. Right? I'm gonna be blunt here. Are you ready for it? If you cut yourself who gets hurt?? You do. If you bite and attack your own body who suffers?? You do. You tell me what that accomplishes?? I'll give you the SHORT answer - - NOTHING!! All you've done is hurt yourself, you haven't "fixed" the "problem", and it ain't going to go away by what you're doing so JUST STOP IT!! You are attacking yourself, and NOT the "devil" that is attacking you. Despite what you are feeling (and YES - - I know it's real), you NEED to get a grip on this. I work at a group home where one of the clients there was schizophrenic. He passed away about 2 years ago, but before he got proper medication, he was a "holy terror". One minute he was nice enough and fun to be around. The next minute he would go into a rage. I never saw this happen (but it was told to me by those who were there at the time) that they saw Clark (the guy I'm talking about) literally pick up a solid oak teacher's desk with one hand, and throw it against a wall 10 feet away. When I first met Clark (11 years ago), he was a much more calm guy than before because the doctors had finally figured out a proper med program for him. He also had advanced Parkinson's Disease, so that complicated things. The meds he was taking for his schizophrenia and the meds he was taking for his Parkinson's gave all of us who worked there at the house a "mixed message" when he "did stuff". But - - I'm getting off of the topic here. You (buddy), need to take care of yourself. I read your post here and I think you have it bass-ackwards when you're talking about the "voices". The "voice of Reason" would be that from Christ, and NOT the one that tells you to kill yourself. Why in the H E L L (H E double hockey sticks) would you say "the voice of reason" says to do that which Christ says NOT to do?? You've got some thinking to do, and I hope you get it right. As they used to say (way back when - - "Take a check-up, from the neck-up". I also (according to your definition) have no value in life either - - but that ain't a'gonna stop me from living. I had a wife once (for 10 years from 1975 to 1985), but no children. That was a loss (to me), but I had no regrets. I had 3 more opportunities to marry (from 1985 to present time) - - and each and every one of them fell through. The last one fell through in 2003. I really figured she was the one for me because we meshed on every level physically/ mentally/ and spiritually (she was an ex-JW and we could talk about ANYTHING and agree). Didn't work out (and that was 10 years ago - - 2003), and I sure as H*** am not going to take a razor to myself (in malice) because it didn't work out. When you cut yourself, it only attacks the "surface of the problem". (You). You aren't dealing with the cause (root) of it, so do yourself a favor and put the "weapons" down. You're only hurting yourself (not good), and not dealing with the problem (also not good), OK?? I have one last quick story for you here. You mentioned kids really like you and that you get along with them really well. I'm betting that animals like you just as well. (Just a guess). One of the guys that used to live at the house I work at (Otho - - that was his given name), was an absolute magnet for animals and kids. He was a really small guy, died at age 75 ( a year ago), but everyone (four footed or two footed) was attracted to him. There was just something about him that attracted every one (and everything) to him. Seems like everyone recognized his disabilities, and knew somehow that he was a harmless guy that could be loved unconditionally. I'm betting you're in the same boat. Put down the razor, Roy. And listen to the REAL voice of reason - - - - Christ. David
  22. It is always good to "shake dust". Like you, I've reached that point also.

    Ciao Pope!

Hello all. The following is from a fellow Hoosier that's now living in Argentina. Yea, yea - - he's a banjo picker too, but his perspective is coming from a "local" view that might not be reported in the mainstream news, so I think what he has to say is credible. Here are his observations: "This is a very controversial decision here in Argentina. This cardinal is ( was ) "Jorge Bergoglio" the bishop of Buenos Aires but it's also known and suspected that he collaborated with the military dictatorship under General Videla during the 70's and 80's. This is the same military junta responsible for the invasion of the "Falkland Islands" ( known as "Las Malvinas" here in Argentina ) and the implementation of "El Proceso" which saw the kidnapping and torture and murder of some 30,000 young Argentines during this time period. They were rounded up, many in the dreaded black ford falcons, taken to detention centers where they were beaten, tortured and then either shot, or more infamously, drugged and flown out over the Atlantic in military helicopters and pushed out alive but in a drugged state. I am, right now from where I sit, only about 3 miles from a detention center here at the naval base in Mar del Plata where it was suspected that many young Argentines went during the dictatorship and were never seen or heard from again. When his papacy was announced here at work their was a mixed reaction. Some like him for his "humility" and social outreach, especially amongst the poor in the "villas" ( slums ) of Buenos Aires, but others also remember him for his supposed collaboration, if the claims are true, with these brutal military dictators...many of whom are still in trial as we speak here in Argentina. Time can heal, and ultimately change character and hearts. Forgiveness is a beautiful gift and a powerful force. Who knows what really went on? Maybe he regrets his past and has made peace with God and/or asked for forgiveness? Maybe he felt like he did nothing wrong? Maybe he didn't do anything at all and the claims are unfounded? Either way its a "bittersweet" mix for Argentina and their first pope."
  24. Congrats. Cool to hear of two souls finally united in love. Nothing finer. Here's a "Musical Trilogy Tribute" to the two of you, Dot and Groucho . The band is The New Grass Revival. The banjo picker was one of RumRunner's favorites. I'm thinking RumRunner would probably approve of this succession of songs, in your honor. There will never EVER be a band as good as The New Grass Revival. Their acoustic talent reigns supreme. They done a "multiplicity" (Gee - - where have I heard THAT word before) of songs, and these 3 stuck out. I hope you enjoy them. Given the order they're posted, I'm guessing they tell "your story" from start to finish. Happy trails to the both of you, and here's hoping there's many years ahead in your future. Seems like the songs already written can say things better than I. A friend of mine (Bob Lucas) from southern Indiana wrote that last song (When the Storm is Over). It was an immediate hit when NGR recorded it. It's one of my favorite tunes. Here's hoping "The Storm Is Over" for you two.
