  1. Well, that's the thing isn't it ? What makes for a scholar versus someone whose 'eyes of understanding enlightened' versus someone 'devilishly influenced' ?? I guess we could ask if John Paul is a scholar, was Joseph Smith a scholar etcc.. For me, Paisano 'hit it on the head'... "truth is truth is truth" (for some it appears to be in the 'eye of the beholder'). It still blows my mind how ex-twiers who have now 'moved on' to other denominational beliefs with just as much (if not more) glaring inconsistencies as twi ever had/has, are so quick to hurl the stones, so to speak.!! I'm glad the mods have me on 'go slow', I only have to peruse some of this junk without the urge now to post whilst 'emotionally charged'...but come on guys, some of these theads must be pretty close to the definition of flagrant hypocrisy, surely ??
  2. Well put Johnno ! That comment really needs no 'defense' !
  3. unless one happens to be talking religion or politics....ay groucho !!

    Noah's Ark

It did say they were Christian archaeologists, so I presume they've already 'found' the Chief Cornerstone !!
  5. And hey...a number of 'promises' were delivered ! Rightly divided Word, leadership training (the good parts of it), s.i.t., clearing up confusion etc... so what 'promises' weren't delivered (for you) ?
  6. Family 19 if I remember correctly, wonderful people.

    Noah's Ark

Rescue ?? they're beyond 'rescuing', I don't waste my time on has beens !!
  8. True courage...And to stay firm in the face of ridicule, persecution etc...You're right Tom, I was addressing Clays comment, but as usual, you're welcome to 'butt in'. Clays comment was "true courage is to face the inward you" (Biblical) ? Your comment was "True courage is to stand firm in the face of danger" (Biblical) ? My comment was "True courage is to hold fast the faithful Word". I never said it was a scripture. And I also (presumed) you had read Titus 1:9 at some point.

    Noah's Ark

Just being honest Tom ! Hey, I was just reading the record where Jesus confronted the 'snakey' and 'viperish' Pharisees who were turning up at Johns baptisms out of interest. Way cool.
  10. believe God for the 'best' to come about (whichever option you choose.) If the 'tug' is to go see Granma, go ! And believe God to take 'care' of the rest... He will !
  11. True courage is to 'hold fast' the faithful Word.
  12. You'll get used to Roy throwing holy kisses your way, we love him to bits !!

    Noah's Ark

p.s. and the 'lack of interest' ? here on GS ? Rather telling don't you think ? 'spose it doesn't 'fit in' with the new found 'philosophies' and 'spiritualism' !

    Noah's Ark

Wouldn't it be 'funny' if it IS and 'VERIFIED' right before Christ returned ? Sort of dejavu !!
  15. We differ on a couple of points right there Tom. I believe Jesus DID put some people on the 'spot' at various times and he most certainly DID show 'disregard' for what was going on in SOME peoples hearts, most often the religious leaders and even at times his own disciples when they were being carnal and/or unbelieving. And I cannot really fathom why putting your original question on the other thread 'shook' Todd up so much ? Was it more your 'insubordination' towards him that 'shook him so badly' ? (I think it was really because you 'put him on the spot') !!
  16. Well, you got your answer about Todds' beliefs on at least the physical return of Christ for/and the gathering together Tom. Now you want to edit and chop the posts up ??!! And don't apologize for putting Todd on the spot. "Sanctify the Lord God in your heart and be ready always to give an answer to every man the reason of the 'hope' that is in you with meekness and fear." 1 Peter 3:15
  17. Well, theres plenty of us 'dumb jocks' around Groucho ! I guess we're just waiting to 'see the real light' like you did !!
  18. Apostle, prohet, evangelist, pastor, take it or leave it on what you think. As for 'Teacher' and your statement about why VP couldn't have made the Word any 'plainer'. ????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How much more 'plainer' do you think a Biblical teacher could be ????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that wasn't such a lame comment, it would be ludicrous (IMO)
  19. And yes, I probably was a bit 'harsh' towards Clay (upon re-reading my post) Wish I could quote some scriptures to 'justify' it.
  20. And Todd...if you're ever Downunda' (Melbourne area) let me know...we'll catch up for a beer (and I'll even buy first round) !
  21. Todd...someone more forum 'savvy' than me could find it, earlier on Clay made the comment you and him have a friendship that can never be broken ? Lets not dickey about with words eh ? At the time I thought that was pretty unusual considering you said you two had never met personally ?? You met on the forum ? Getting back to 'anamcara'...Todd, I beg to differ with what you said. Visiting the site it talks about not being a 'religion' but rather a 'spirituality' embracing age old traditions, cultures etc.. A picture of grown men face painting themselves and getting in touch with their primeveal inner self ? I'm sorry, I didn't get the impression there was much of the Jesus I know, figuring in the project. Men going into a 'retreat in the bush' and stripping down and yelling and beating 'tom-tom' drums has been done before ! IMO 'the sacred art of dying' is a good cover for what is really being promoted Todd. That is all I have to say on the subject, I know I've said it before. We appear to follow two very differn't Jesus is all.
