Wierwille talks about the importance of having needs and wants parallel, yet, he gets virtually anything he "wants" though he actually "needs" very little of it. (Bikes, private jet, classic cars, private chalet, etc.)

Conundrum: Wierwille talks about the impossibility of counterfeiting tongues and then describes how he, himself, had counterfeited tongues.

Early on, Wierwille related how, when he was at a low point in his work as a minister,, he asked/told God to give him a sign or he would quit. The result, of course , is the amazing "snow on the gas pumps" story. Later (Advanced Class, maybe?) Wierwille categorically states that you can't ask/tell God to give you a sign. He uses scriptures, of course, to "validate" his point....."It's like a black fly in your chardonnay bowl of familia."

Movies aside, my nomination would be for John L., for his portrayal of a buffoon in a non fiction work.

I used to wonder what the profoundly deaf could do, in lieu of speaking in tongues, that would give them "proof in the senses realm" and all that stuff.

The whole thing reminds me of that scene from Fantasia where the splinters from the broom keep multiplying. HERE

O.K., here's the thing. The CEO's leadership of these corporations splinter groups are knowingly marketing a product that has been proven to be both defective and harmful. Yet, they continue to market it. If we were talking about hula hoops or widget flanges, most reasonable people would understand the deception.

Here's some vocal fry you might enjoy.

Here's my take on it: 1. Have them sign "the green card". 2. Undershepherd them through "the class". 3. Work with them to get them through all the peripheral classes/requirements needed for The Advanced Class. 4. Get them through The Advanced Class. VOILA! Then..... they can use "all 9 all the time" and do this whole trip by revelation. (My obligatory effort to segue this into ATW.)

Except, maybe, the ones that are headed toward the exit sign?

I was thinking "iron lung" because it was one entity, being sustained through the intervention of artificial means. (The so-called "ministry" was the iron lung that gave life to Wierwille's MLM dreamland.)

The Way has ALWAYS been one moving part.....an iron lung, to be more specific.

Even tougher when you're underfed, overworked, sleep deprived and isolated, as many were, in the various "training" programs.

It's gonna be a wee bit too nippy for a trip to the park this Saturday. I'll have to strap on a set of headphones and play that tune a few more times. :)

"Suspicion" is the 10th manifestation. "The manifestation of suspicion is your God given ability, etc, etc, etc, yada, yada....."

"I never got that from VP. You could say he didn't act like that around certain people or at certain events, but that kind of thing is difficult to hide." I wouldn't be so sure. The evening news is frequently replete with accounts of people who've been fooled by the unscrupulous. Many times, the people who are the most trusted turn out to be the very ones unworthy of trust. (Don't we already have a current thread that addresses that subject?)
