Hi, Jonny Thanks for that background on The Sing-Song Girls. There is a link above the vid-clip that gives some information regarding the "Bread and Roses Strike of 1912". Not all who died to make this country what it is today, did so on foreign soil. Many brave souls stood the picket lines and sacrificed their safety, comfort, and even their very lives to bring about the changes that shaped our country into what it is today. They did so because working conditions had become intolerable and inhumane. Many of those brave souls were women, as evidenced by looking at the history of "The Bread and Roses Strike of 1912".

Mike Have you sought out professional help? I don't mean that to sound facetious. You got conned just like the rest of us. There's no shame in that. Lots and lots of very bright people were fooled, also. Maybe someone who is trained to deal with these things can help you. I'm sure someone could direct you to the proper sources of help. You could PM them in private and no one would have to know. waysider

Good luck to you, Mikey I hope you catch that "golden pony" some day.

Like, will this be on the "final"?

Yo Mikey! Who said anything about total trust and ultimate authority or letting someone think for me? (Of course, you probably realize that accepting PFAL as God-Breathed is exactly that.) Wasn't it you who posted recently how you made it your personal effort to re-search the things you had been taught? So go ahead, then; re-search the accuracy of "4 crucified" or "Cry of Triumph" or "tithing" as it applies to the 21st century. When you get done with those, there are plenty more. BTW----What's the skinny on that verse in I Corrinthians, anyway? I'm just bouncing off the walls in anticipation. A brief synopsis would be plenty.

Hi, Vermontlaw! I knew if anyone would remember that book, you would, because it seemed like all the young ladies in your hometown had a copy. I remember how they used to parrot various sections of it in a sarcastically mocking manner. It was really all great fun hearing them slice and dice it. Oh, Gosh Golly Gee! A truly PROPER lady would NEVER want to become something so unlady-like as a doctor or an attorney, now would she? HeeHee Prrrrrr! :)

Hmmmm! You might try these on for starters. http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/index.ph...amp;#entry21847

So, Mike----- Why do you suppose God chose to give Dr. W. revelation to incorporate materials that would later prove to be Biblically inaccurate? I mean, if this was God's best shot in 2,000 years of getting his "righty divided" Word presented to the masses, wouldn't it make sense for Him to avoid the stuff that didn't pass muster? Heck, it's "The Integrity of The Word" that's always at stake. Am I right? You don't have to answer on this thread if you think it will be off-topic. Perhaps the "The Great Mystery" thread would be a more appropriate place to post your response. Probably just a "synopsis" would be adequate. Enquiring "grads" want to know.

Mike I'm sorry if my last post seemed mean hearted. I have no animosity toward you. But some day, brother, you are going to have to admit to yourself that the cold hearted phony lied to you just like he lied to all of us. Stop chasing the "golden pony". Now matter how many corners you turn, it will alway be beyond reach.

fosista-----HUH???? Hey, Mike Believe it or not, not every thread is a "platform" from which to extol the virtues of PLAF. The guy (VeePee) was a drunken sexaholic who didn't give a rat's patootie about "meeting the needs" of anyone but himself. Not even yours!!!! He used your ABS to buy himself enough booze to drink himself into a stupor. Not to further the goal of Word over the World. Does that surprise you? Does it anger you? How do you feel about that? ------------------------------------------------------------- This thread is about the music of pressed down. If you really feel that you simply must vaunt VPW to a God-like status, feel free to start another thread. Maybe you could title it: He Walked On Water( 'cause the "jordan" was frozen) -----------or------------------------ VeePee, VeePee, VeePee (Sweetest Name I Know)

I'm totally confused excie. (I guess I could have used one of these things: ) I don't recall you doing anything that required my forgiveness. (what makes you think it was YOU who did something wrong????)

That is super cool excie!! Believe it or not, I have never before heard that tune. Thanks

I have always thought that this song that follows would be appropriate in some way.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep7uySNpUyw

Hi there, Frank Do you think Mike's post was really that far off topic? I mean, isn't "the accuracy of the God given class called PFAL" at the very heart of every topic anyway? So, if a thread appears to be about music from the past, do not be so easily deceived; it's really about "the accuracy of the God given class called PFAL". Likewise, if a thread appears to be about the presidential election, it's really about "the accuracy of the God given class called PFAL". If a thread appears to be a friendly discussion about the latest episode of a popular TV show, it's really about-----------oh, heck, I think you get the picture.
-
Hiya, Mike Hey!! Have you checked out my new thread on "The Mystery"? Yeah, I totally 'get" what you've said about it being OK that Doctor Wierwille stole the materials he used for the PFAL class. After all, the end always justifies the means. So you steal a little here and you change a little there-----So what??? Everybody got blessed in the end, right? And, of course, as you have pointed out, God must have given VPW revelation as to which materials to steal and how to assemble them as they had never before been assembled in one place. But what I still don't "get" is why God would give Dr. revelation to use materials that were based on flawed research. You know--- stuff like the 4 crucified, which by the way, is covered in the original materials. (Those are the materials that were produced before later editions were purposely changed to adulterate the true meaning of the original.) Seems like He could have just as easily told him to steal stuff that was accurate. That's the part that's a great mystery to me. By the way. Do you think you'll ever catch that "golden pony"? He might be right around the very next corner.

Still waiting for that work on I Corinthians 3:17. The suspense is killin' me!

I believe there is an indirect aspect to this as well. For example, I drifted away in 1991 when my son was born, so he was never exposed directly to TWI. We have had various philosophical and religious discussions that were influenced by my experiences while I was involved with The Way. I try to instill upon him that he must think freely and not blindly accept doctrine without investigating it for himself. That advise, I believe, comes as a result of my involvement with TWI. Long story made short: I don't see how our kids could NOT be affected, either directly or indirectly, by our involvement with The Way.

Huh? I thought you said (or implied) you would show us!!! (2 posts back)
