  1. I found this book to be enlightening and comforting. TWI's teaching of 'soul sleep' where we go into this dark, black nothingness until the return has always disturbed me. "God is light, and in him is no darkness," so why would he place us in darkness?? The author, John Lerma MD chose to work in palliative, end-of-life care, and is widely known for his compassionate and loving care of hundreds of terminally-ill patients as well as his tenure as the inpatient medical director for the internationally renowned Medical Center Hospice of Houston, Texas. The book combines real life experiences/accounts with visible medical substantiations. http://www.amazon.com/Into-Light-Afterlife-Pre-Death-Experiences/dp/1564149722/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1350060661&sr=8-1&keywords=Into+the+Light

    Mongo gone :(

I also read he suffered from dementia, and was part of the class action lawsuit accusing the league of not doing enough to protect them from the long-term effects of head injuries. He was one of the good ones. Read more here: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2012/10/11/2327998/former-detroit-lions-great-alex.html#storylink=cpy
  3. I'm sure VP guided them to marry, simply because they were Corps grads...
  4. And he graduated from college?? I think his wife MaryAnn covered for him a lot.
  5. It took about 6 months to partially rebuild the page. Some links don't work yet or pages aren't built. However, gone is the Governance page identifying the major players and their respective backgrounds to run a biblical teaching organization. what happened to their transparency...oh, maybe it was never there? http://www.stfonline.org/

    You're welcome...

Wouldn't surprise to see Obama take time during his campaigning to grant this man Asylum...! some people just need to go to glory...
  7. I agree with you geisha. The problem is that human beings always want to tell others to love/act/accept God identical to their OWN personal understanding. What if we all just shared his glory and greatness, and then stopped worrying about how they want to love God for themselves. Sheesh...the denominations would melt away---what a concept. Jesus said, "except you be as little children..." children do not care how others perceive, know, and love God.
  8. Was having an interesting discussion with a friend about Jesus and who he is. They come from the position of Jesus being God incarnate. He mention a book written about the sacrifice of Jesus and what it means. Interesting idea to consider [or not]; Most Christian thought has taken us back into the blood sacrifice mindset of religious history, missing the point of the whole 'Christ' event in the stagnant and repetitive pool of human history. The text of the New Testament, apart from The Letter to the Hebrews, can be read in a non-sacrificial light, certainly a non blood-atonement light. Unfortunately the early interpreters of the text quickly fell back into the old standard sacrificial interpretation of Yeshua's death, one that let the principalities and powers of the scapegoating mechanism off the hook for the last two millennia. The Letter to the Hebrews tried to interpret Yeshua's violent death to Jewish believers through their familiar lens of the prevalent sacrificial Temple Cult. many of my ideas have been stirred by the writings of Catholic academic Rene Girard. I'd suggest his wonderful book 'Things Hidden from the foundation of the World', Book2 which examines the Judeo-Christian scriptures in light of his mimetic theory. An expensive but extremely rewarding read. http://www.amazon.com/Things-Hidden-Since-Foundation-World/dp/0804722153/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1349710169&sr=8-2&keywords=Hidden+from+the+foundation+of+the+World%27%2C+Book2
  9. TWI never dealt with any illness---always perceived it as 'negative and possessed'. How many were let go when they became ill, including Mrs VPW in her senior years!
  10. Interesting list. If old Rosie were to die suddenly, I wonder if her successor is already chosen?
  11. These are very good reflections and thoughts. There is really no answer to my question, beyond pondering if anyone else ever wondered..."Farther Along..."
  12. He knew he was God's son; he had at least 23 years to write something down. HOW busy he was is simply an assumption, and would not exclude writing.
  13. I heard a psychologist state that you cannot counsel character. It is different from behavior, and is there for a lifetime. this is an interesting descriptive page; http://drkentgriffiths.com/information/character_disorder_h.html
  14. This is exactly my life too. I find all organized relition too constricting and it gets in the way of my life and walk with my Creator. I believe church has its place for teaching new people, but it often keeps them stuck. And if they want to expand their learning of spiritual things in ANY context, they are condemned for their curiosity. I believe that Jesus came to free us up from all the organized religions that were keeping individuals separate from a personal journey with God.
  15. What I find reprehensible is that they recruit 'partners and collect money from very poor people in the Phillippines to maintain a very comfortable income, relatively speaking. Do you think Jesus accepted tithes and offerings to support himself? Doubt it!
  16. YIKES is right if in the hands of TWI. But it is an interesting 'ponder' what would be today if the world had his actual writings or signature!
  17. And it seems that all his offshoot of the original offshoot have resorted to Social media like Facebook and Twitter as their point of contact. Their presence and effect seems to be dwindling; they just won't admit it to themselves.
  18. Thank you OnionEater...I was beginning to think I was out here all alone with that question/thought. I've often wondered if he DID leave texts that were destroyed. I guess it is a rhetorical question, but I know that old texts written during his time have been found as recent as the 1940's in Egypt.
  19. I have always wondered there are no writings from Jesus himself. We have many who wrote their own thoughts and deeds to be passed down, many who wrote their impressions and memories of what Jesus said and taught, and God himself gave mankind the Tablets. But we have NO writings left from the Son of God. Seems odd.
  20. I never gave Reincarnation much thought until I read this book. It is beyond fascinating because it really happened to a little boy. I saw his story on the History channel and just had to buy the book to read the entire account. Now it makes me think that something can happen on an individual basis. http://www.amazon.com/Soul-Survivor-Reincarnation-World-Fighter/dp/B004Z4M3I4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348174834&sr=8-1&keywords=soul+survivor
  21. What never made sense to me was VP said that you had to speak in tons A LOT to build up the spirit. If SIT is God's gift that is perfect, as He is perfect, why would we ever have to 'perfect' it? And no, I don't feel the need to SIT anymore; the chatter gets in the way of my pure, heartfelt longing to connect and hear from Him.
  22. a couple of surgeries, feeding tubes, and nothing has reversed. That sounds very life threatening.
  23. I'm sure he is living off other people, just like all the offshoots do. They should imitate the Mormon's who have NO PAID clergy. All their clergy volunteer their ministerial time, and live normal lives. Makes them more credible because they live daily pressures like the rest of us do.
  24. speech therapists have documented glossolalia between siblings, and especially twins for years. it is common and a language between the participants.
  25. Static Statement: UNDER CONSTRUCTION Our website is currently receiving a makeover. We will be live soon! Current status: Working on the brand new STFonline.org! We hope you like it! Check back soon! Here is a list of links that will keep you busy until we finish: I think they forgot to return to the scheduled programming. Lack of funding? Lack of inspiration? ...Lack in general?
