  1. man...was he ever DEPRAVED!!!
  2. The Catholic Church 'sold' what they called indulgences, where a person paid money for the priest to pray for the souls of their departed ones. That was because no one was sure the dead friend/relative really made it into heaven. You had to be completely sinless at the time of death. The only one who REALLY knows if they are cleaned of sin at that time is the one who died. Shortly before or right after death, the priest performs the Last Rights prayer session. It includes a prayer of absolution, to absolve/remove/forgive any remaining sin not acknowledged. But because there is no guarantee you really made it in the gates rather than the inbetween 'holding cell' called Pergatory, the church offered parishoners the opportunity to give money to the priests who would add the departed one's name to their daily prayer list. The priest was the only one who knew these special prayers and had access to God. Hey...being raised Catholic, now I know why TWI felt so comfortably familiar!
  3. Lynn and his previous group STFI are really big on selling rewards as they interpret them in the bible. My question to them would be, "If there were no rewards, would you drop this whole lifestyle and teachings?" If so, then it isn't your nature after all!
  4. I had the same reaction when I read it!
  5. not only that...he told them they were serving God by serving 'The Man of God'. Just makes me want to scream!
  6. Kit; that picture you posted of Jesus was included in the book "Heaven is for Real" about little Colton Burpo's near death experience. His father is a pastor, and spent a lot of time trying to understand what happened to his four year old son. In his library, the dad had many books with many drawings depicting what Jesus looked like. Longer hair, darker hair, longer beards, shorter beards, blue eyes, brown eyes etc. Colton would always say, "That's not Him." But one day, dad stumbled across the works of the girl Akiane Kramarik, and when Colton saw her drawing of Jesus, Colton said, "There He is, that's Him!" That likeness is represented Jesus who Colton said held him for a time in his journey on the other side. Colton had never met the artist, and as a young boy, was too young to make up such a startling recognition...
  7. I looked at their website for the first time in years. One page stated: "The Way is a worldwide, nondenominational Biblical research, teaching, and fellowship ministry headquartered in rural Ohio. " do they still do ANYTHING internationally, or is that statement more likely implying that they still receive ABS from people living outside of the 50 states?
  8. that salad is served today for ONE person! wow! Love Cobb salad.
  9. when I read her web page showing those photos that Kit attached, what she said "I believe that in Heaven, each of us will be able to choose and create a sanctuary. This is the garden that I would like to create and plant." Her art is as she gets senses and impressions. We are all unique...so some may want to create a desert oasis, some a mountain top home, others may want to exist on fluffy clouds. I love the idea of endless possibilities as unique as we are. Her painting of Jesus is drawn as her heart sees him. here is her website; http://www.artakiane.com/store
  10. THANK YOU KIT!!! I've just been learning about these Indigo Children. Here is her bio, from her web page. Just click to enter and then click the About top menu tab; http://www.artakiane.com/
  11. If anyone would like this book, I have a copy to give freely. It is an eye opener.
  12. I think the Bible we have today is incomplete. Remember, the leaders at the Council at Nicea did a hatchet job on scripture...what would remain and what would be removed. I think they removed A LOT about life after life...and most groups today are trying to make sense with gaps. Just sayin'---
  13. Happy Birthday Excie!! You aren't a failure...you're human---like me!! I'm slowly learning to love myself, mistakes made and all. It is quite liberating...you should try it!!
  14. sadly, this shows how his treatment of others affects our reaction...myself included.
  15. Yes. And I have personal friends and acquaintance friends who have had defining experiences that the person who passed from this life has just taken a new form. The evidence is just so STRONG.
  16. I guess I assumed he was a Corps grad because he obtained a B.Th. degree from Indiana. He apparently is a Chiropractor and a Naturopathic physician, both disciplines to which I ascribe. My only surprise is that he'd bother to mention The Way College of Biblical Research at all.
  17. The Paracelsus Klinic of Switzerland where he studied is quite legitimate.
  18. Man...what hype! No wonder people are wary of salesmen like "Professor" Harold Hill, the charlatan who sold "The Think System" in the Music Man. Reading LMCI web page: Dr. Sides (also known as Dr. Dale) has been described as "a Braveheart/John Wayne/General George Patton type leader" with the heart of a warrior who trains and equips believers for spiritual battle, mainly through his class on Exercising Spiritual Authority (ESA) and other biblical presentations. Dale's apostolic and cutting-edge classes have been taught all over the United States, as well as in India, Nigeria, Kenya, Colombia, New Zealand, and Australia. "...cutting-edge classes have been taught all over the US, as well as India, Nigeria, yada yada" The statement insinuates that he is well known (even by hundreds of thousands). But today my mind will ask, "WHERE all over the US...in many LIVING ROOMS all over the USA and other countries???
  19. Sounds like most of the offshoots...
  20. This is just plain SAD...
  21. I find the sophomorical quips, play-on-words, and juvenile jokes beyond boring. Plus, if he wants to attract 'mature' people with money to fund his enterprise, this just ain't the way. He is still talking to teenagers, much like the early days of TWI. talk about a RUT...
  22. What struck me as odd was that he'd post his worthless theology degree, like it was supposed to make him more credible??...
  23. In reading about alternative health clinics, I stumbled on this site. "Dr. Dickens received his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University in 1976 and then went on to graduate with a B.Th. from the Way College of Biblical Research." Anyone know him? The website is well done. http://www.healingpathwayscancerclinic.com/about-2/about/
  24. I think there are a lot of us in this same place...
