  1. A new question Is God required to be faithful to our expectations or to his Glory?
  2. Or it could be a real story about two perfect beings deceived by a fallen angel masquerading as a serpent. And the consequences of their rebellion was so severe that it left its stain upon all mankind. But God, being just and loving, made a promise of a redeemer who come and crush the serpent and restore man from his fallen state. The lesson here is to accept the offer of salvation from the redeemer, because there is no name other than his that can save you.
  3. Amen. piffle starts out with Jesus' promise, then the teacher proceeds to tell us that Jesus wasn't all that important and that we could be like him if we just applied these keys. by the end, Jesus wasn't even in the picture.
  4. You know worship services are not for our enjoyment. It is for the object of our worship.
  5. This is the same logic that allowed vpw to talk about having a collection of porno films so he would be able to counsel anyone and not show shock or disgust.
  6. The best TV movie sequel was the second Night Stalker movie the Night Strangler.
  7. Kevin Spacey Hollywood Confidential Kim Basinger
  8. while the law was perfect, it was set up so that people would have to rely on God's grace to get by. God wanted his people to be truly holy (consecrated, set apart) from the world. Given the world at that time with every other pagan culture given over to sex and human sacrifice, the standard for His people had to be extreme. But the law also had plenty of grace in it as well and love too. Aliens, widows and the poor were supposed to be cared for. But Israel (and now by extension, us) could not handle that and so went into debauchery, apostasy and legalism to get by. We do the same today, TWI couldn't handle grace and mercy and so went off the cliff. Other groups seek legalistic methods and others just tell God to leave.
  9. Bob Remember no man is an island. It takes a village to raise an idiot. As for your views on OT. There sure is a lot of violence in those books, but look at how many times bad things happened to the "chosen" ones. Israel was told by God to clear the land of the pagan nations, they failed. And theire reward was a history of enemies attacking and often oppressing them until David came along. But Israel was judged sternly by God to teach the nation a lesson. Whole families perished because of the sins the fathers committed. If that is not a wake up call for us what is? We see how TWI blew it. Its founder dies a painfuld death, his body racked by cancer. It's second leader hounded out of town for a sex scandal. It's third leader allegedly living with another woman. God's judgment is coming, and may be already here.
  10. In the spirit of the Sith, I would like to know which sequels you love and love to hate. For instance, three of my favorite sequels are: Beneath the Planet of the Apes Superman II Magnum Force My least favorites: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Superman III
  11. The Paper Michael Keaton Johnny Dangerously
  12. Depends on your perspective I guess. And as an aside, just how do you know your particular superstition is "The Truth"? To me it's saddening to see grown adults still clinging to ancient notions of invisible beings guiding the planets and interacting with the inhabitants, despite any concrete evidence that any such thing exists. If the God of the Bible is indeed an ever-present reality, He sure knows how to keep a low profile. Geo I don't think you would know the truth if it came up and frenched you on Main Street. You are so angry and bitter against the notion of God as if He let you down. You seem to have put your trust in men and got burned. And now I take it that you are enanmored with science and its explanations. So again, you are putting your trust in man and will be ever disappointed. I have seen the hand of God in this world. His profile and fame are ever growing.

    PFAL Online?

Mike As God is my witness, how can you peddle such garbage. We know from scripture that the believers will physically be in heaven when Christ returns. We will have new bodies, but bodies nonetheless. As for the book and magazine form, you've butchered that quote too. I've read it and can not see how you came to your contusion, I mean conclusion. And heck, I like you.

    Its Field Day!

Our local ham group is getting ready for field day. Just saw it in the local paper (I put it there). We are in Michigan, where are you?
  15. vpw' keys were based on the assumption that God lives to make us safe, happy and comfortable. It relies on the thesis that we are the center of God's universe. In my studies I am seeing how God lives for God and seeks to make his name famous in the world. All the miracles in the Bible were designed to bring glory and honor to God. All God's blessings are designed for us to use to proclaim his name in the world. That's the key to the promise made to Abraham in Gen. 12.
  16. That's the book. A good one too. This week, we are studying "Winner's circle theology."
  17. A busy week for me as well and a busier weekend coming up. May God bless you richly.
  18. When you talk of Jesus' death, I hope you don't think he is still dead. He lives! His resurrection proves all that he said was true. He has defeated death so those who believe in him will everlasting life.
  19. There have three major genocide sweeps in the last 30 years. Cambodia, Rwanda-Burundi and Sudan. We (U.S.) wrung our hands but did nothing to stop any of them. Millions died and are dying but because they have yellow and black skins, we sit on our hands. Get some white people mucking it up (Bosnia) and suddenly its ethnic cleansing, while the African problems are called "tribal conflicts."
  20. Risky Business Tom Cruise War of the Worlds
  21. Jesus was not born of the same flesh as us. He was fully man, sharing our limitations in our limited vessels. But he was also fully God, begotten of the Father. He was able to be the perfect sacrifice because he did not carry around the curse with him like we do.
  22. Catcup God bless you. Yours was a wonderful that should be a lesson to us all. My wife and I agree on most issues, but there's enought independent thought to keep us all going. We go to the same church, but don't always agree on the doctrines. But compromise is often a good thing for the right cause. Congrats on the 27 years.
