  1. I understand he not only knows, he even has a name for the little
  2. sorry Tommy I couldn't find a Sheehan zombie, there was a Hillary one, but I was afraid it was off topic. Really dude I thought the hacking of the Austin sign was hilarious (provided it did not put drivers at risk). I posted the pic in a humorous vein, not as Bush hate. He is not on my radar any longer. Back to the topic, did you know there are activist groups for Zombie rights? Perhaps they were responsible for the hacking? Or perhaps it was someone in Austin TX having fun with the Austin Basis movie "American Zombie" Despite their wildly different working styles, Grace and John manage to chronicle the hopes and dreams of four fascinating subjects: IVAN, a convenience-store clerk who longs for a career in publishing; LISA, a florist trying to recover her lost memories; JUDY, a hopeless romantic who learns to accept her true nature; and JOEL (pronounced "Ho-El"), a committed political activist striving for zombie rights. As Grace strives to get to know the zombies "on their own terms," John is eager to uncover their darker side and rallies to get the crew permission to shoot at a three-day, zombies-only retreat called Live Dead where the documentary takes an unexpected - and dangerous - turn. What transpires there is beyond anything the filmmakers could imagine, as they are forced to re-evaluate their ideas about tolerance, identity politics and the future of the human race. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No disrespect meant to ANY zombie, some of my best friends are undead finally. ~HAP
  3. They also have this one now:
  4. Wow, Jerry is still with TWI????? I figured he would be selling something, but I didn't think it would still be green cards.

  6. the above link seems not to be working any longer. Try this one: http://gigapan.org/viewGigapanFullscreen.p...6648c2b4b06233c yep it is pretty cool
  7. maybe to keep the teeth from rotting? I wonderred something similar to you, when I saw a rather large person order a triple cheeseburger "hold the bun".
  8. I thought it would be fun to post questions about little things we wonder about as we comer across them in our daily life. They can be serious or silly. Maybe this will go somewhere and maybe it won't. Feel free to post your own questions or answers. The answers can also be serious or silly, but if you know for a fact the answer, it would be sweet to be told such an answer. My first question is about the Oval office at the Whitehouse,, but is NOT meant to be a political inquiry, and by no means is meant to set a focus for the thread. In looking at pictures of President Obama's first day in office I was struck by the pictures of him on the phone. Both phones I saw in use in the Oval office pictures were CORDED phones. You know, the ones with that twisty, always-getting-tangled, pain in the neck, possible hazard to young children, type cord. I haven't used one of those in ages. Is this a security thing to prevent over the air broadcast of conversations? Is it just an overlooked yet-to-be-updated technology thing? It just surprised me, and I wondered about it. that's all, not exactly a life issue, but sometimes we just have to ask. Maybe Rumrunner can tell us, or whoever it was whose daughter worked in the Whitehouse? ~HAP
  9. Googled : "E.B. Stowe" artist http://sanfordhistory.tripod.com/newsletters/sep2006.pdf an artist who studied with him: http://www.myartprofile.com/Narnar someone who in July had an EB Stowe painting of the St. John's River for sale. You need a facebook account to contact him I think it says. I could help with that or you can get one. http://daytonabeach.heyclassifieds.com/for...tingby_eb_stowe not much to go on, Is there a possibilty he is a descendant of Harriet E. B. Stowe (Uncle Tom's Cabin)? That might be a plus
  10. I don't use IE except for Windows Update and Dell Support (because they do not seem to play well with Firefox). I know I have alwasy had one blank tab there as long as I can remember. According to the following article however you can make that tab open to your "home page" (which can be any site you want to make it. I would choose Google, but that is just my choice since I use it most. Maybe this will help: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/e...a9f8731033.mspx
  11. hey -It's good to have you around. Happy Birthday
  12. you could do what I do, I have my genealogy program send me a reminder! Congrats you two, and fond wishes.

    Ode to Michigan

hah summer will come. (or not)
  14. I will assume you meant Internet Explorer (the web browser), not Windows. I opened mine up to see what it looked like. I have one tab with the default hopepage, and another tab which is blank. I think it comes that way with one blank tab. Are you sure you added it?
  15. that is true Groucho. His nephew posted with the announcement: http://www.greasespotcafe.com/ipb/index.php?showtopic=11735

    Another Poll

I copied and pasted this back from the posts that were moved, because it is on topic and I am not looking for a discussion on that other subject. I removed reference to it. IN MY OPINION- all Paw wants to do is have more time to pursue other interests which I think everyone agrees is his right and perhaps, his duty, to himself. He asked in the poll if we thought GSC was still viable etc. If the people who responded had largely said "No" then it would have been silly for him to look at other ways to maintain GSC from the way he has done it. Because the poll DOES show an interest in keeping the site open, it is worthwhile to decide how best to do that, if in fact he wants to keep it open as a live forum. Lots of help has been offered to him if he wants to go that route. Now it is up to Paw to decide which way to go. Changing the way things are done here does not need to be the end of a journey. It can be a turn in the road or a change of drivers. The back seat drivers do not need to take the wheel however, and we might not even have the necessary license. Paw, please go where you need to go in life no matter what US back seat driver's tell you! Please just be in a happier place. ~HAP
  18. :) I know the ceremony, I was there at the time. I hardly think the passing off of some of the duties of a website involves such a religious symbolism and maybe Dmiller was not implying such. Perhaps the athletic baton picture works better for me. I dunno even at that. I apologize for not being clear. (since the edit button was still on this post, I removed the parts that are not applicable to mantle topic.) ~HAP
  19. nah the imagery is not there for me
  20. ok, then you wish me to imagine what you mean. I can do that.
  21. I know what a mantle is I meant what do you mean by it here.
  22. we aren't allowed thoughts here? that is news to me. mantle? what does that mean?

    Another Poll

or at least part of the baton. I think Paw is happy with what he has done here, as he should be. All that is really needed is for it to be less demanding of his time so he can pursue some new interests or further pursue some old interests. (not that I am calling anyone old). ~HAP
  24. Rightsideup- In my opinion, be cautious what you post here. Do not post any identifiable information without the advice of your attorney. I say this because sometimes this sort of thread can get tricky and it is easy to say too much. I say this, not to alarm you or in any way to hamper you from seeking information you need. On the contrary, I wish you all the help you need. There are others who have been through this like you, and one of them hopefully will be around soon to give you an assist as to what to do.
